Chapter 62 She Got Nerves of Steel +8 Pearls “Let you go, so you can regroup and come back for revenge?” Lucas teased from the front passenger seat.

Jack shook his head like a bobblehead. “No, I wouldn’t dare! This was my fault, I admit it. I swear, if you let me go, I won’t seek revenge.”

“Yeah, like I’d believe that,” Lucas rolled his eyes.

Jack turned to Olivia with a pleading look.

Olivia’s lips curved into a smile. “I’ll be waiting for your revenge.”

Before Jack could look relieved, Olivia opened the car door and kicked him out of the speeding vehicle with one swift motion!

Jack tumbled out, rolling over and over across the ground, ending up bruised and battered.

Lucas broke out in a cold sweat as he stared at Olivia’s bold move.

“Geez, if Jack doesn’t die, he’s barely hanging on. You really don’t hold back, huh?”

Olivia calmly tossed the broken bottle out of the car, pulled a packet of tissues from her bag, and began wiping the blood off her hands.

Lucas swallowed nervously. “Jack’s a petty guy. After what you did, he’s definitely going to come after you. You’d better watch your back.”

“It doesn’t matter,” Olivia said with a calm smile, finishing up cleaning her hands. “I’m looking forward to him trying.”

Lucas gawked at her, completely thrown off by her nonchalant tone. “You’re looking forward to it?” Olivia raised her eyes, a mischievous glint in her gaze. We live in a society governed by laws. Murder is illegal, but if it’s self–defense and ends in accidental death, it’s just excessive defense.”

A shiver ran down Lucas‘ spine.

Is she a devil?

“But still,” Lucas stammered, “as bad as he is... he doesn’t deserve to die, does he?”

Olivia propped her chin on her hand and looked out the window at the scenery. “Three years ago, he killed a girl.”

Lucas froze, caught off guard. “What?”

“He saw her at his bar, drugged her, assaulted her, then dumped her body in a river. His family’s wealth silenced her poor family with a payout, and that was the end of it,” Olivia said evenly.

If she hadn’t escaped in her previous life, she would’ve met the same fate. Jack had told her so himself.

“He’s handed out illegal drugs to minors in his bar and destroyed countless lives. Do you still think he desen’t deserve to die?”

Olivia asked, her gaze sharp as she looked at Lucas.

“You helped me find Jack, so I’ll join you for your race, Olivia said casually, Lucas blinked in surprise. “Are you serious?”

“I keep my word,” Olivia replied.

Benjamin’s lips curved into a faint smile.

“Where’s the race?” Olivia asked offhandedly.
