âDid I do that?â Harriet asked with a guilt look.
Welsey retorted, âOr what?â
âI'm sorry. I got drunk. I didnât mean to get mad last night.â She appeared to make an apology with no penitence.
Weksey reminded her, âDrinking is not allowed, as stated in the agreement.â
Harriet smiled flatteringly with her body stiffened, âThe glee feast was very relaxing. I got drunk unconsciously. Please kindly forgive me just once.â
She put on the ingratiating look again.
Weksey lost his patience this time. He dragged her over, âI can help you recall exactly what happened last night.â
"I was drunk, anything else?" Harriet wasn't aware of his words, "You can't take a drunk person seriously for what she said or done."
âDoes this include you trying to have sex with Keith?â
Harriet came in small gasps, âWhat did you say?â
Noticing the surprised look on her face, Weksey was in a good mood.
âYou tried to kiss him first. I guess having sex would be the next step.â
âAre you doing the round-off?â Harriet breathed a sigh of relief. From what Weksey said, she remembered that Keith did hold her in his arms. But that is all, nothing else happened.
After that, Weksey pushed her down to the bed and said, âAllen Jones is your Dad.â
Harriet trembled all over furiously and held tight to his arm, âAre you serious about what you said last night?â
Weksey asked with insouciance, âWhat are you talking about?â
Harriet turned to a heavy voice, âAllen Jones... No way. How could he be my...â
The phone rang. Weksey turned the speaker on when Allenâs anxious voice came out.
âDid you take Harriet away? Is she with you now?â
âSheâs good.â Weksey kept it short.
Allen relieved a little, âThatâs really good to know... Did she have a hangover? She drank a lot last night. I should get there earlier and dissuade her.â
Weksey responded slowly, âAre you thinking of stopping her as her Dad?â
The silence rang out on the other side. Allen answered after a while, âDo you think itâs a snap decision to claim her back right now? She might not accept it. That's actually what I thought as well. But Iâve failed them for so many years, and I can barely wait anymore.â
Upon hearing that, Weksey laughed heartily, âLet me tell you the truth, Uncle Allen. Harriet will not accept your claim for sure.â
Then he hung up the phone.
Harriet clearly realized what happened from the conversation between them.
She never met Allen before. But Allen kept asking about her. He sized her up with a blazing eye on their first meeting. All these things confirmed what Weksey said about their relationship.
âWhen did you know about it?â Harriet no longer doubted the authenticity of Wekseyâs words. There was no reason for the Jones Family to mix up either. It was all up to herself.
Weksey remarked casually, âIt doesn't matter.â
In fact, his investigation was ongoing by the time he received Mrs. Jones's request. He tried to find out Allenâs concerns, while stalking him at the same time.
Mrs. Jones might send the request by accident. But Weksey found out the secrets Allen hid from his family. He hired a private detective to pry into Harriet and her little brother.
Weksey showed great care when it came to Harriet. He found that Allen had affairs with Harriet's deceased Mom before. After a brief showdown from Weksey, Allen didnât hide about what happened.
âIt matters a lot.â Harriet gnashed, âWhy don't you tell me that you know everything from the beginning?â
âWill you accept Allen if I tell you about it?â
Harriet replied decidedly, âI wouldn't.â
âThen whatâs the point of telling you?â
Harriet crackled a wry smile to Wekseyâs stone look.
âYou are right. It is meaningless to a ruthless person like you. You care nothing but your own interest. I almost count on you to understand my feeling.
How ridiculous I am.â
A displeased look appeared between Weksey's eyebrows, âYou might not want to look for troubles early in the morning.â
Harriet got off the bed sluggishly, âHow do I dare to do that? I anticipate Mr.Smith to promote my new TV series. Shall we make some gossips to build up a more frenzied momentum?â
The man's words rang in her ears as she was suddenly hugged around the waist: "Are you sure?"
âI...â
Weksey held her to the balcony before she uttered the word. He turned her face towards downstairs.
Harriet took a closer gaze and became pale with fright.
A few journalists gathered downstairs with a fatigued look. They yawned one after another. Apparently, they had stayed here all night.
âHow could they...â
Harriet was puzzled by the fact that Weksey's residence was always quite secluded and not easily tracked by reporters.
She didnât know that Allen followed Weksey to the wrap-up party yesterday. Allen was the âprofessionalâ in the actorâs mouth, but he didn't make it clear though.
Allen came specially to see how Harriet was these days. However, he didnât find Harriet. After that, Weksey directed himself to look for her and caught her up.
By the time Weksey showed up, everyone in the cast noticed Harriet. She was lying in his arms. Weksey was too mad to care himself being followed by the paparazzi as well.
âAre you looking for gossips? How about having them take a few pictures of us here to be more convincing? â Weksey scoffed instead. Harriet was angry and irritable by what he said.
âPut me down!â

âWhat exactly do you want, Weksey?â Harriet could do nothing but obey his commands. She turned to be pathetic.
Weksey rose a cunning smile, âYou know what I have in mind.â
Harriet gritted her teeth and straightened up to approach him.
At last, Weksey finally embraced her and took her away from the window, and a scene seemed about to unfold, but-
He left her all of a sudden, hugged her, kissed her on the cheek, and released her.
What did that mean?
Harriet gawked at him. She stunned there when Weksey tidied up his collar.
âYou want more?â He took a quick glimpse. Harriet had been lying for a while.
âNo.â Obviously Harriet wouldn't ask for it. She rose quickly from the bed. She was still in shock of Wekseyâs relinquishment.
He never cared about her as long as he wanted to have sex with her.
Hold on. He seemed to restrain himself for a couple times already. Was he thinking about how she felt? Or maybe he was just not interested in her?
He couldnât be uninterested in her. She felt his strong physical response at that time.
âWekseyâ She pursed her lips to avoid being sentimental. After a while, Harriet couldnât resist keeping her doubts, âAre you worried about how I feel?â
Unexpectedly, Weksey made a fluent response.
âI thought you would never realize that.â
Harriet tried to figure out the reason. But she could barely accept the answer against her.
