AIMEE
One year later...
"You look so good!" I exclaimed while looking at Evelin. It was her wedding day.
She just put on the dress and entered her bridal room. Me, my mom, Rowan's sisters, his mom were all excitedly waited for here to show us the dress.
She looked wonderful. Her dress was covered in lace and clutched to her body, it had long train and was sleeveless with a heart shaped neckline. Her light brown hair was curled and pushed back.
A bright smile was on her lips while she turned around for us to have a whole look at the dress.
"I'm so excited, I feel like I'm going to cry." She fanned her face with her hands.
"No, the crying should be left on Rowan when he sees you." Juliana, his older sister said.
"If I see him cry, I'll start crying as well." Evelin chuckled. She dabbed her under eyes with a tissue. She looked nervous, and I couldn't blame her.
I looked at the ring on my finger and thought of how this moment would feel for me when it happens.
Yes, Leo proposed to me a month after my birthday. To be honest I was expecting it, but he said that he had brought the ring even before my birthday.
I immediately said yes. How could I say no to that man. He was a dream come true. He proposed me on the roof top where we had our first official date. I loved that it was a low key proposal, just me and him. The ring was tear shaped and had diamonds all over it. It was very extravagant, but I loved it. After that, we moved into our own house, living with Leo has been a blast. He's been even more patient, more caring and more loving. Every day he tells me and shows me how much in love he is with me.
Our house was out of town, it was like the one I described to him. With a big garden and a pool because I said that I wanted to learn how to swim. There were too many rooms to count, in Leo's defense he wanted a big family.
"I want all of the rooms to will be filed with our children, Zaria."
Because he was not close with his family, he wanted ours to be always together. And I wanted that as well.
I was the maid of honor and I was dressed in a lavender colored dress. The back was exposed and it was Leo's favorite part. Of course. It was made out of silk material and it was lose fitting.
My hair was straightened and I had small heels in the same color as the dress. I caressed my growing belly.
And the next news was that I was pregnant. The four and a half month belly was finally visible. It was round and adorable.
We weren't necessarily trying to have a baby, but when I find out that I was pregnant, I couldn't be happier. I smiled at the memory of me telling Leo about it.
I looked at the fourth pregnancy test. It was positive. Again.
"Oh my God." Happy tears started to form in my eyes and I jumped up and down from excitement.
I was pregnant! Leo's going to pass out. I giggled to myself and tried to think of a way to tell him.
I couldn't wait so U planned to tell him as soon as possible. Looking through my phone to find some ideas, there was nothing that peaked my interest. I wanted a simple surprise. I guess I'll have to think of something.
I went on with my day, trying to act cool and collected. I was going to surprise him tomorrow since I had to buy something before I do it.
When Leo came he noticed that something was off. I was giggling and smiling the whole time.
The next day I went to the store and bought baby shoes. My heart swelled at the thought of having my own child. I was going to be buying baby clothes soon.
When I got home I put the baby shoes beside the place where Leo leaves his.
He was supposed to be here in one hour. The time went past quickly and Leo knocked on the door.
I ran and opened it. "Hey!" I greeted and kissed him. He took his shoes off and placed them on the floor. His eyes went to the baby one's.
"Do we have guests?" I wanted to face palm myself. He looked so adorable with confusion written on his face.
"No." I couldn't contain my smile.
"Then what is this?" He took them in his hands.
He was so oblivious.
"Baby shoes, Leo. What do you think?" I rocked back and forth on my feet, excitement evident in my voice.
He looked at me dumbfounded, furrowing his eyebrows.
"Oh my God Leo, I'm pregnant." I said while laughing. His eyes widened.
"What?!" Leo threw his hands around me and spun me around. After he put me down, he kneeled in front of me and kissed my stomach.
"We're going to be parents." A sob left his lips. I crouched down and cupped his face. "Yes, we are." I wiped his tears, feeling my own making their way down my face.
"I love you." He placed his palm on my belly. "And I love you."
Leo has been on a over protective mood since he find out. He wouldn't even let me lift my phone.
"Let's go girls, it's time." I hugged Evelin and we made our way out.
After the ceremony was done, we were all seated at their party. Leo had his hand sneaked around my waist, holding me close to him.
The venue was beautiful. The trees were decorated with fairy lights and the circular tables had candles in the middle, with flowers all over.
"Are you okay?" I turned my head to him when I heard his question.
"Yes, I'm perfect." He nodded. He was worried all the time. Since he knew that my mom had a difficult pregnancy, the whole journey for us was stressful. Especially for him.
He would ask me if I was okay every now and then. He also insisted that I do regular check ups, even if they weren't needed.
I was not working at his company anymore, instead I opened a flower shop on my own. I love it. It made me happy and proud of myself.
Leo tried to convince me not to work while being pregnant but I couldn't just stay at home. I was not use to that.
"Don't forget to take the magnesium pills." He caressed my arm with his fingers. "And don't overwhelm yourself tonight." I wasn't much of a partier anyway.
"I won't and don't worry. I'm completely fine." And so was the baby. We still didn't know the gender, we wanted it to be a surprise.
I don't know how I'll survive not knowing but we decided that we will not ask the doctor anything.
The food was served and Leo made sure I ate all of it. He even gave me his plate when I asked for one piece of his chicken filet. "I don't need the whole plate, you should eat as well."
He shook his head. "No, you eat it. The baby needs food as well." Kissing my temple with a smile on his face, he watched me fill up my stomach.
I tapped my belly and sighed, I was more than full. The food was delicious.
"I should go and see Evelin." He nodded and said a soft okay.
I walked towards her and all the girls were there as well. She had a permanent smile on her face. I knew she was sad that her mom didn't make it to the wedding but she hid it pretty well.
"Hello, girls." I said and stood by them. His sisters wouldn't go a second without complementing her and also his mom. I was so grateful that she finally had a good mother figure in her life.
We engaged in a conversation about where their honeymoon is going to be. We also talked about her dress and the way Rowan reacted when he saw her.
"He looked at you, like you were the only person in the room." I said to her. He was so in love.
"Look who's talking." Juliana said. "Do you know how your fiancé is looking at you?" I giggled.
"How?"
"Like he wants to put another baby in you, right after you give birth to this one." They all agreed.
"Oh, stop it."
"I'm being serious, he can't take his eyes off of you." I turned around and indeed he was looking my way.
After we talked and laughed, I retread back to my seat while some of them went to dance.
"I can't wait for our wedding." I admitted. I was really exited. We still haven't decided when we'll marry, but if I let Leo decide, he would marry me tomorrow morning.
"Me as well. And I can't wait for our little baby." He rubbed my belly.
"Do you think it's a girl or a boy?" I just wanted them to be healthy and the birth to go well. Hearing mom's experience always scared me.
"As long as they look like you and they have your heart and kindness, it doesn't matter to me, Zaria." And again him saying his sweet words that make me blush.
"I love you, my Leo."
"I love you, my Zaria."
