I couldnât even think about canceling my reservation, and I ended up booking a melodrama with Priscilla.@@novelbin@@
Despite the movie starting in just five minutes, only one other seat besides ours was reserved. It almost felt like we had rented out half the theater.
If Priscillaâs true identity had been revealed, we could have easily reserved the entire place, but neither of us wanted that.
âYes, you can go right in,â the theater staff confirmed after checking our tickets. They glanced at Priscilla, who was practically glued to my arm with an embarrassed expression, and then gave me a curious look.
They must have assumed I was dragging along a girlfriend who didnât want to be there. At least they didnât look at me with disgust, which was a relief.
âI-Iâm the one who wanted toââ Priscilla started, but I quickly cut her off.
If I let her continue, people would just think I was some weird guy forcing her into something, but if she emphasized it too much, weâd both look strange.
No matter how I had changed my appearance, I didnât want to be remembered like that. Plus, itâs easier for people to forget the first impression than the second.
