It had been about ten days since I returned to Earth.
On the very day I called my parents, my sister and I went back to our family home. The reaction from my parents upon seeing me again was, well, beyond words.
As expected, they were adamantly unwilling to believe my story about not being able to return for seven years due to certain circumstances. It wasnât until my sister stepped in to back me up that they started to come around.
Even then, they didnât fully believe itâthey just seemed somewhat convinced, largely because my sister, an A-rank hunter of the Eternal Guild, suggested that there were reasons she couldnât explain. They even seemed to settle on the idea that I was some sort of secret agent, like in a movie, which, to be fair, wasnât entirely off the mark.
âIâll make sure to pay you back for this later,â my sister had grumbled, clenching her teeth after getting scolded by our parents for not telling them sooner.
That was one of the many events that unfolded.
âNika, about the summonâ¦â
âNo comment.â
Since the S-rank gate raid, interest in me had only grown, but Nika was adamant about cutting off all inquiries. Although this only fueled peopleâs curiosity, Nika didnât seem to care.
However, this led to unintended consequences elsewhere.@@novelbin@@
âItâs driving me crazy. Nikaâs summon or not, why are they asking me about it?â
âI share your frustration. Even when I say I donât know, itâs no use.â
âI canât go outside either. I stepped out for a moment at 3 AM, and there were three cameras on me. Can you believe that?â
The other women around me, including Nika, were being relentlessly questioned about me as well.
âIs it because youâre all guild masters?â
