I knelt in front of Aria, her eyes still constantly shifting between gray and blue, never settling.
âThey said the souls were merged into one,â I thought.
In that case, separating the souls was the answer. Fortunately, the Holy Spear could serve that purpose. While it couldn't directly separate souls, it could produce a similar effect.
I drew the Holy Spear. A golden light emerged from my left hand, illuminating the surroundings. Aria's struggles intensified. I needed to concentrate from here on. I took a deep breath and brought the tip of the spear to Aria's chest.
Supporting her back with my right hand, I used magic to bind her limbs and lay her down flat. Her body continued to thrash. It seemed Latina was preventing Aria from completely losing control. The spear touched her chest.

I plunged the spear inward. The spear of light pierced her flesh with a wet sound, and fresh blood gushed out, staining the already blood-soaked nunâs robe. The divine power began to stir inside her.
"Ugh! Mmgh!"
Her eyes, flickering between blue and gray, suddenly shot open wide, a choked scream escaping her lips. As I focused on the spearâs tip, I felt something coil around it. The spear was probing for the souls.
âIâve found it.â
Soon, the divine energy latched onto one of the souls, like finding something buried deep within a chaotic lump of clay. I twisted the spear.
"Grkâ¦!â
