"Are you saying I'm trapped? Me?"
A menacing aura began to seep out from beneath the Demon God's feet. I tightened my grip on Eternity. I couldnât quite pinpoint what had triggered its anger, but it looked ready to attack at any moment.
"What do you think you know about me to spout such nonsense? You donât even understandâ¦!"
The sky above us turned black. The ground nearby was already dead, completely lifeless. It seemed true that the projection had some limitations on its power.
I focused energy into my left hand. If the aura spread further, I was ready to summon the Holy Lance and strike immediately. After rejecting its offer to take the Demonic Sword, there was no point in holding back now.
"Iâm here because I want to beâ"
The entity abruptly cut itself off. The dark energy that had been threatening to engulf the surrounding space suddenly dissipated.
The Demon God stood motionless in the middle of the dead land, its posture eerily still. I kept my guard up as I observed it, noting that it seemed to regret its recent outburst.
Although I couldnât see its expression due to the shadow obscuring its face, I had a feeling it was reflecting on what it had just done.
"â¦Do whatever you want. Come find me or donât."
With a voice that sounded as if it were gritting its teeth, the Demon Godâs form vanished in an instant. The sky gradually cleared, and the dead, blackened ground was all that remained to indicate what had just transpired.
"Looks like youâve got your own issues," I muttered, staring at the spot where the Demon God had disappeared.
No response came back.
"Itâs obviously a trap."
"Definitely a trap."
"I agree."@@novelbin@@
"Their intentions are too clear to be trusted."
