The next moment, Keiraâs foot slammed viciously into
his groin!!
âBang!â
Everyone seemed to hear a faint sound of something shattering, and then Jackson turned pale in aninstant. He looked down incredulously and saw a trail of blood
at his crotchâ¦@
Jackson was stupefied.
A surge of excruciating pain hit him, and he only felt darkness before his eyes, as he passed out fromthe
pain!
âMr. Gill!â
The thugs beside him couldnât help but exclaim in shock as they rushed to Jacksonâs side, and thenturned to Keira with a vicious glare, cursing, âYou just wait, Gill family will not let this go!!â
Leaving those words behind, they quickly lifted Jackson up and hurriedly left the place!
The courtyard still retained the chaos of the recent
scuffle, and only after they had gone did it finally quiet
down.
Keiraâs brow furrowed slightly when she heard Matiasâs panicked voice. âKeera, you, how could youâ¦â
Keira looked at him indifferently. âWhat about it?â
Matias heaved a sigh. âForget it, if the Freeman Sect starts investigating, just say it was me who kickedhim! Donât admit it no matter what, otherwise, youâll really lose the chance to join the Inner Sect!â
Keira sighed. âItâs fine.â
âWhat do you mean âitâs fine?!â Matias was completely frantic. âYour lifelong dream has been to join theInner Sect. How much hardship have you endured over these years for this? Jackson saw yourambitions, thatâs why he has been bullying you! How could you be so impulsive for usâ¦?â
Impulsive?
Keira wasnât impulsive.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
Upon entering and seeing Naraâs state, she was indeed angry, but more than that, she was infuriatedby the past humiliations her sister suffered at the hands of
Jackson!
Seeing Nara, it was as if she was looking at her sister
back in the past!
Hadnât her sister, before this day, suffered the same fate time and time again?
Otherwise, how could Jackson have made those
remarks?
So in her fury, she struck him.
Now, she had no regrets. With the Sect Leader there, she couldnât possibly get into trouble!
But Matias couldnât understand her reasoning and continued to plead earnestly. âRemember what Isaid, go to the Freeman Sect now and accuse me of assaulting Jackson. When the time comes, Iâllinsist that it was me and take all the blame upon myself!â
Keira, however, didnât move.
Instead, Lewis stepped forward.
Upon seeing him, Matias immediately recognized him as Keeraâs newly taken gigolo and said, âTalk toher!â
Lewis came over to Keira and said. âAs a woman, how
could you
kick a man there?novelbin
Keira raised an eyebrow.
Matias also took a deep breath. âIâm not saying you canât hit him, anything else is open to discussion, but that part is clearly⦠if itâs damaged, our feud with the Gill family will truly escalate!â
Lewis nodded. âNext time you want to do something like that, let me do it.â
Matias was dumbfounded.
He looked incredulously at Lewis, his mouth twitching, about to say something, but Keira asked,âWhy?â
Lewis just curled his lips. âItâs quite filthy.â
Then he looked down and took out a tissue from his pocket and wiped the bloodstain on the leatherboots she was wearing today.
After wiping it off, he took a deep breath as if still
disgusted and then looked back at Matias. âDo you have any water?â
Matias was confused.
His mouth twitched, but Nara had already snapped out
of her shock. She immediately nodded.
She then took a basin and entered the room, returning
shortly with some water.
She handed the water to Lewis.
Lewis took out his handkerchief, dipped it in the water, and once again carefully wiped Keiraâs bootsclean.
Keira felt like her black leather boots were about to be
polished white!
Only then did he let go, still frowning in dissatisfaction.
Keira didnât know what to say.
She pursed her lips, unable to help but pat him lightly. âThatâs enough!â
Lewis finally stopped his motions.
Keira immediately looked at Matias. âYou were
deliberately hurt by Jackson, why didnât you report it to the Freeman Sect?â
Matias sighed. âItâs no use, Jackson is from the direct lineage of the Gill family. Not to mention how the
r
Freeman Sect would handle it, even the Gill family itself would send people to suppress this issue.â
He hung his head in disappointment. âHeâs from the second branch and colludes with Austin from thefirst
branch. Lady Gill loves her third son the most, and as a result, she has always been biased towardJackson, so his status is very high within the family.â
He started worriedly, âKeera, youâ¦
âDonât mention what you just said,â Keira said. âNever mind the fact that so many people saw earlier, but considering your injury, how could you have kicked him? With your uninjured leg or your injuredone?â
Matias was speechless.
Keira patted his shoulder and then turned to look at
Nara.
After a moment, she slowly said, âThe Freeman Sect has wronged you, and about that sect rule, Iâllsuggest to the Sect Leader to change it.â
If she wasnât the senior sister, that would be one thing, but now being in that position, she felt a senseof belonging to the sect, and so, of course, any
unreasonable rules needed to be amended.
Matiasâs mouth twitched again, âKeera, when did you start to boast? You donât need to comfort meâ¦Mainly itâs about your wish to enter the Inner Sect. If you can let go and not join, itâs okay with meâ¦â
Keira looked again at Nara, observing the barren state of the home, and couldnât help but sigh. Shetook out a stack of money and handed it to he., âTake this money.â
Nara immediately waved her hand away and then reached out to grab the paper and pen.
However, upon touching her neck, she suddenly realized that her jade pendant, which had beensnatched by Jackson, hadnât been returned yet!
Nara panicked instantly.
Her brother had said that she had been wearing that jade pendant when they found her, which might berelated to her background. If it were lost, wouldnât she be unable to find her biological parents in thefuture?
Naraâs eyes reddened in an instant.
Keira frowned, asking, âWhatâs wrong?â
Meanwhile.
At the Gill family residence.
Austin had been beaten so badly that his face was swollen and bruised. Feeling humiliated, he hadbeen staying at home for a few days.
At this moment, Lady Gill hurried in from outside.
Seeing this, Austin couldnât help but straighten up. âMom, whatâs the rush? Is there news about mysister?â
As he mentioned his sister, Lady Gillâs footsteps faltered slightly.
A hint of sadness emerged in both of their eyesâ¦
Lady Gill said, âItâs news about your sister. We located the human traffickers from back then. They saidthat when your sister was captured, she came down with a fever. Fearing she would infect the otherchildren, they dumped her in Clance!â
