Anirudh's pov:

I am neither a fan of movies nor of books, but there is one thing I wish was common in real life and movies; predictability. There is always a certain amount of predictability in books or movies, unlike life. In books or movies, you are aware of who the main lead is, what the theme is, and you know if they are the permanent deal or temporary ones. Even if it is a thriller or horror, you won't be completely clueless. But dude life is something else. You would think you know something by now, and then bam life at it again, proving how stupid you are.

Dang! And that's why I hate thinking about all this philosophical stuff. If you know you are going to be proven wrong then why even bother?

Heck! Now I am confused.

Huffing out a frustrated sigh, I glance down at my phone. A sweet radiant smile catches my attention compelling my facial muscles to shape a smile of their own. I click back and the profile picture of Adrita shortens, clicking back once again I exit the chatting app.

It was day 10 of actually knowing Adrita and there were already rumours spreading around. It wasn't like we were inseparable or something. We had only spent two lunches together till then; one at a restaurant and the other at the office. The most we conversed after those were usual hi-hellos if ever our paths crossed.

I was tired of people questioning me so as soon as the clock struck 13:00 I left the office premises to walk around.

I had only made it to the exit gate when a familiar face caught my eyes. With a notepad in her hands, she was busy scribbling something on it while her steps were moving in the direction of the parking lot.

I caught up to her and exclaimed, "hey".

Taken by surprise she flinched and placed a hand over her heart trying to calm herself. "Don't scare me like that, Mr Cinderella."

"Mr what?"

She shrugged nonchalantly and kept on walking. "That's what you are being called by our colleagues, I being your princess charming." She explains, her words followed by a chuckle.

"Wow."

I had a massive headache, all I wanted at that moment was to sleep without care but unfortunately, work was being a witch. I adjusted myself to a comfortable position on the cafeteria chair and closed my eyes to relax a little.

The smell of coffee and baked goods assorted with the cluttering of knives and spoons enveloped the small office cafeteria.

"Here, for you." I flicked open my eyes to gaze at the ever so smiling face of Adrita. She sat across from me and nudged her chin towards my table, directing my eyes towards a bar of dark chocolate and a cup of coffee placed over it.

She must have noticed my questioning gaze as she added, "It will help with your migraines. I saw that your usual frown was a little more intense today and how you were massaging your forehead."

I shook my head in amusement but savoured the coffee anyway. "If this continues people might think I am using you."

She shrugged and placed her elbows on the table to support her chin with her hands. "You can return the favour by buying me flowers, Mr Cinderella. Just for your information, pink roses are my favourite."

"As you wish, Princess Charming."
