I have never expected to meet my mate so close to the castle. All this time she was here... When I think about how often we went here with Selina for the past two months, it’s crazy I didn’t feel her presence.

"We were not looking for her." My wolf says.

That’s true but maybe we should have. I mean it’s easy to say that, now that I met her. Erin is her name and she seems to be a nice person. She is a werewolf like me and she is 27, a year older than me. I was always scared to meet her because I didn’t want to disappoint her by rejecting her at first sigh. It would have been so unfair!

Actually everything went well, better than I thought. She thought she would never meet me and she moved on with her life. She is a Gamma female. She used to be the gamma’s mate best friend and the grief they shared after losing her pushed them together. They have two kids and another one is on its way. You have no idea how relieved I’m feeling right now knowing that first I didn’t break her heart and secondly that she is happy. I need to thank the moon goddess to push her in his arms. My thoughts are cutting on my phone. Tom is calling me.

“Hey, Tom! What’s up?”

“What did you do?” He asks me. He sounds angry and panic.

“What are you talking about? Where are you?” I ask feeling suddenly uneasy.

“In Anton’s office.” As soon as he tells me that I teleport myself there. Something is not right and better speak face to face than on the phone.

“What’s going on?” I ask worriedly.

“Selina, I felt her in pain though our link.” He replies.

“What?! I didn’t see her since I left the meeting!”

“She went to meet you. She wanted to speak with you about an alternative for you if you don’t want to be king.” Anton says.

“What?! I never said I didn’t want to become the next King.” I ask confused.

“We can all see you’re not happy.” Anna-Lynn says.

“I’m the only one who can say what makes me happy or not!” I reply and I can see approval in Anton’s eyes. It’s a first.

"Focus! We need to know more about Selina in distress!" My wolf growls at me.

“What about Selina?” I ask Tom.

Why do I feel nothing?

“She shut us out!” My wolf explains.

“I don’t know. She is not answering her phone but I can feel a huge sadness in her.” He replies.

“You’re sure you didn’t see her?” Anna-Lynn asks me.

“No, I was busy with my m-FUCK!”

"SHIT!" My wolf comments.

“I don’t like that!” Anton says.

“I just met my mate. And we were busy rejecting each other. She might have seen us.” I explain.

“Fuck! Knowing Selina, she thought you will reject her.” Tom says.

“When will she understand it will never happen! She is mine!” I say furious.

“ She is very insecure because she wants you happy and she doesn’t think you will be happy as her King.” Anton says.

Tom nods and adds:” She thinks that you could choose your other mate for the freedom.”

“This why she didn’t mark me yet!” I say walking around the office. I’m just so furious!

“This madness is ending now!” I say punching the table.

“You should calm down!” Tom tells me.

“What are you going to do?” Anton asks. He looks exciting.

“I’m going to find her and until she doesn’t bear my mark I’m not letting her go!” I say and I can see satisfaction on Anton’s face.

“It’s about time!” He mutters.

“Do I have your approval?” I ask him.

“Son, you always had it. I’m just hard with you because I want the best for both of you.” He says hugging me.

Anna-Lynn takes in place and hugs me:” Selina doesn’t want you to lose your magic when you will turn into a Lycan. Do you know how you can block the venom?”

“Yes, mom taught me.” I reply still in her arms.

“Good! If she refuses to mark you, come here I will turn you myself. Like that, you will be free to mark her, as you said it’s time for this madness to end.” She replies.

“Thanks, Lilly! Thanks, Tony!”

“One last thing, if you lack of idea where you could mark each other, you should ask Anton where he planned to mark me at first.” Anna-Lynn adds smirking.

Anton growls and she laughs before to ask him:” What you don’t find the idea that great anymore?”

“Not at all. Right now I’m convincing myself that they will mark each other only. No mating for now! And you’re not helping my soul.”

“Do you really think they didn’t mate yet?” Anna-Lynn teases him.

“Absolutely! I’m right?” He says, turning toward me to confirm that.

“Hmmm, I have to go!” I say before teleport in my place.

Let’s go hunting our mate.

“I love hunting. Even more when Selina is the pray!” My wolf says excitedly.

I focus on our mate bond and I can feel she closed it. She also trying to hide with her magic bracelet. That makes me laugh! As if she can hide from me as if she can stop me to claim what mine. To claim her. She is on an isolated island. Apparently she has a thing for islands when she is upset. I need to speak with Lana about sending my mate wherever she wants whenever she wants. She is looking at the sea when I appear on her back. I’ve masked my scent and blocked all the sound of my body that could betray me.

“You’re in bit trouble, Sunshine!” I say making her jump. Her eyes are red and full of tears making my fury almost deflated.

“What are you doing here? I thought you were busy.” She says not looking at me.

“Oh but I am busy. I’m chasing after my mate and it’s time for me to catch her!” I say.

“Why are you here then?” She asks.

“You sure know how to push all my boutons, don’t you? Do you know how angry I’m against you.”

“I didn’t do anything!”

“You are running away from me!”

“I know who this woman is to you.”

“You want me to tell you who she is?! She is my mate but she isn’t the love of my life. I might be fated with her but it doesn’t change the fact that she is not the right one for me.”

“How can you be so sure?”

“She is not you Selina! You’re the only one I love!”

“But-“

I cut her:” It’s time for you to bear my mark, Sunshine. I’m done waiting for you to be ready. The time is up now. I’m claiming you tonight!”

“You can’t!”

“You’re sure about that?” I say raising an eyebrow.

“But you don’t want to be king.”

“Hell, I don’t want to be your king. I will rule by your side! Will I lose my cool again and walk away in the middle of a meeting with all those assholes? Probably. The fact that I have to have two faces, one for the people as a King and one for my friends and family, will still annoy me? Of course! Will I don’t find all the procedures coming with my position normal? Hell no! Still, Nobody will rule with you but me! You’re mine and mine only. All of you and all of you have is mine! No one esle!”

“But what about your other mate?” She asks.

"Stubborn little thing!" My wolf says.

"I know!"

“We’ve rejected each other. She was as relieved as I was to know I will not fight for her. She has her own happiness.”

“You should start to run, Sunshine. My wolf and I want to hunt you down. Moreover, I need to punish you, naughty girl!”

“For what!?” She protests.

“Let’s see... For running away before I can explain to you what happened, for making me wait, for not marking me, for trying to hide from me. Do you want me to keep going? If I were you, I would start to run away Selina. I’m catching you tonight. If I’ve to go back and ask your parents to turn me into a Lycan, I will. Now, your choice is to turn me into a Lycan or not. But one thing is sure, you will not leave this island without bearing my mark!” I tell her with determination.

"I will have to catch me first!" She starts to run full speed.

"Let's the fun begin!" My wolf says as with shift for the last time in our wolf skin.
