LUCA'S REALISATION

third person

perspective

HELIUS GRAY has always wondered what it felt like to fall for a golden person. He couldn't comprehend the concept of love, it bothered him how he would feel spontaneous spikes of emotions when he looked at Sahar. At first, it used to be hate but as he slowly got to understand her, he realised there's a thin line between love and hate.

The moment he saw Sahar at Luca's birthday party, he realised the concept of beauty was found in her. With her he saw no flaws, it was all magnificence that could place the celestial stars to disgrace. Each time he listened to her point out insecurities he would shout in his mind that she was wrong, he couldn't understand why she couldn't notice what he could see.

"Where's Sahar?" Helius questions, his eyes browse the hallways with worry.

Asher looks at him with a frown, why is he looking for her? He thought to himself as he peered at Helius.

"She's with Luca."

Helius felt his soul burn. "Alone?"

Asher furrows his eyebrows at Helius' random spike of interest. "Yeah,"

"Where did they go?"

Asher picks up his phone, judging whether he should tell Helius where Sahar was. A small part of him wished for Helius to crash their little get-together but he didn't know why.

After deep thought, Asher hands Helius the location Sahar sent him earlier.

"Thanks." Helius mumbles, typing the location on to his map app.

Asher casually shrugs his shoulders. It troubled him that two people appeared to appreciate her more than they should. She's not an object to be fighting over, she's a human being, she has feelings too.

He watches as Helius leaves to find Sahar.

He takes a sip of his Luwak coffee. He always wondered how it would be if he actually liked Sahar. But he couldn't, he was too afraid of the past repeating again.

Her leaving him once again.

Asher takes a deep breath before looking up at the glorious blue sky with a dismal smile. He's happy that she'll be happy soon. Even if he's hurting as long as she lives to live and not just live to exist.

But his happiness is short-lived as he finds a certain Vietnamese girl looking at him with a timid smile. It was Solar, Solar Sinclair with hearts in her pretty eyes.

HELIUS finds Sahar and Luca stood under the vast oak tree. They both appeared to look at each other with a subtle gaze, the pressure seemed thick in the air as Luca spoke.

"Because I like you, " those words were enough to cause Helius to feel as if a thousand storms surged in his heart. His mind was flooded with numerous thoughts, one thought being he should've realised it earlier.

"But you don't like me." Luca breathes out. Helius glances at Sahar's expression, she seemed equivocal at his sudden confession. She looked close to accepting Luca's feelings through her faded gaze.

"You what?" Helius whispers, he didn't want to believe at this moment. He wanted everything to blend into a beautiful dream but he couldn't. This was verity, this was the threading of destiny.

Luca jolts back, his eyes tumbling on a troubled Helius. The golden boy had a pessimistic attitude as he glanced between the duo in front of him.

"Helius!" Sahar enlarges her eyes, she didn't anticipate him to turn up out of the blue. She notices his thunderstruck expression, at this moment she had no idea what to think.

"Luca, repeat what you just said." Helius murmurs, his heart felt heavy and his mind felt foolish.

All Luca could do was watch his friend drown in distress. "Luca, I said repeat what you just said!" Helius demands, his eyes were filled with incomparable melancholy.

"I-" Luca pauses, he felt guilt. But why did he feel guilt? He was only telling Sahar how he felt. Looking at Helius made him want to withdraw his words and pretend as if nothing happened. His sanity was swarming with shame for his friend.

Helius took a step back. He wasn't sure how to feel. "All I wanted was to feel something on my own for once but once again it's taken away. It's funny, funny how fate works." his words cause Sahar to glance at him with confusion. But Luca knew exactly what he was talking about.

"Helius let's talk about this elsewhere," Luca says, reaching out to grab Helius' arm.

Helius declines. "You felt the same way for my sister too, but look where that got her," he takes a step closer towards Luca. "Just because you can't touch anyone, didn't mean you had to touch her," he whispers harshly, making sure Sahar doesn't hear.

Luca felt sensitive. "Tell me what I should do Helius? There's no one else, it was your sister but now it's Sahar."

"You could care less about both of them. All you're worried about is getting some action without the fear of dying from your stupid skin problem." Helius grumbles quietly.

Luca raises his eyebrows. "And so? Am I not allowed to do that? All I want is someone to touch, and when that someone is right in front of me I think it's only fair I get them, not you."

And those words were all that it took for Helius to smack Luca directly on the face. His actions cause Sahar to widen her eyes, she pushes between the two immediately.

Luca hisses in pain as he caresses the area Helius punched with no mercy.

"You're just like every bad guy in this world Luca, you use people for your own benefit," Helius says coldly, dismissing Sahar's sharp stare. "The others may have not realised it but I did, you're toxic and foolish."

"How?" Luca challenges.

Helius looks at him with dismay. "You're blind to what the world has to offer, you may not realise it but you're truly at loss." his voice cracks as he peeps at Sahar. Luca doesn't value her as much as Helius does. He doesn't feel the exact way Helius feels. He doesn't love the way Helius does.

"Stop it!" Sahar yells out. Helius silences at her command, it was the first time he saw her get angry and he hoped it would be the last time because he couldn't stand watching her feel the murky feeling of anger.

On the other hand, Luca watches her with interest. He couldn't help but think about what Helius told him, that he only liked Sahar because she was the only one he could touch. And after thinking about it.

He realised it was true.

If he was able to touch, he wouldn't look her way at all.

The reason why he wouldn't pay attention to her at all was because she seemed like someone you could meet anywhere. She didn't seem to ever get angry, all she cares about is others and doesn't focus on herself. Luca couldn't fall for someone who doesn't love themselves because that would be irresponsible.

Luca isn't a bad guy. He's a good guy with a bad desire. All he wants to do is touch someone without feeling like he'll die.

He's willing to sacrifice a future without love just for the mere idea of touching someone.

Even if Sahar isn't someone he loves. He hoped that when they grow older he'll find himself falling in love with her.

Moments like now made Luca realise that maybe he will fall in love with her in the future. It was the first time she became angry, she was no longer a robot with a lack of emotions. She was being an actual human being.

It was the first flaw he had seen in her this whole school year.

Even if Helius was right, it doesn't stop Luca from fulfilling his ambition. He wanted Sahar so he could get over his allergy to people. And he won't stop until he gets what he wants.

"What's wrong with you Helius? Why did you punch Luca?" Sahar exclaims. Her words prompt Helius to look down in disgrace. Her anger was directed at him and not Luca.

After all, nobody could get mad at Luca.

Helius doesn't respond. Even if Luca is using Sahar for his own selfish reason it was still his secret. It's a billionaire bad boys club rule to keep a secret as revealing a secret is dangerous.

Luca looks at Helius with respect. He noticed that Helius couldn't reveal his secret even if he wanted to.

And that was the tragic part as Helius will never be able to justify his actions to Sahar.

After realising that Helius wouldn't answer her, Sahar focuses her attention on to the caramel haired boy with a frown. She places her hand on Luca's face, gently caressing as he purses his lips at her touch.

Nothing. Luca felt nothing.

"Are you okay?" she whispers, gazing into Luca's eyes. Unaware that the caramel haired boy could care less about her feelings, he only viewed her as a part of his cure. He tried to believe that he liked her but he couldn't, Helius made him realise today it wasn't attraction but ambition.

Luca nods his head gingerly.

"We should go, you really need ice."

Helius simply glances between the pair. His heart was broken and he couldn't do anything about it. He remains silent as Luca places his arm on Sahar's shoulder, each action caused a storm to brew in his mind.

"Thank you, Sahar. You really do know how to care for someone." Luca says, but his gaze was on Helius. It was as if Luca was showing off his glory. Much to Luca's luck it worked, Helius found himself drowning in pain.

"I'm only being a good friend." her words cause Helius to feel a spark of tremendous hope. And those words cause Luca's ego to blaze, each time she mentioned the word friend, the more insecure he felt. He was worried she'd leave him and go for someone else.

"Sahar I told you to stop saying that." Luca murmurs, his eyes melting into hers.

"Oh, my bad. I won't say it." she says, ruffling Luca's caramel brown hair. All Helius could do was watch endlessly, he couldn't do anything or prove anything.

Luca smiles at her words.

"I guess I'll be going," Helius says, his eyes were mainly on Sahar. But she doesn't look at him, all she does is focus her attention on to Luca.

What was I expecting? Helius thought to himself as the duo ignored him.

He makes his way past them and towards the direction of the coffee shop. All he could think about was how Luca easily made Sahar believe in his words. A blind man can tell how Luca wants to use her for his own desire. It bothered Helius that none of the other billionaire bad boys club members could tell.

"Yikes, it's as if I jumped into a romance book where the main lead and second lead argue over the girl," the sound of Jumin's voice causes Helius to jump in shock.

"You were there the whole time?"

Jumin nods his head. "Of course, what do you take me for? A clown, obviously not. When I know there's drama, I'll always go where it is."

His comment doesn't fail to make Helius laugh. "Well as you saw, Luca confessed to Sahar and I couldn't do anything but throw a punch."

"That was some punch though, that Silver guy taught you well." Jumin says as he patted Helius' back.

"What do I do now Jumin?" Helius questions, taking a seat on the bench next to the convenience store.

Jumin glances at him with pity. "I feel like I'm the only one who noticed but Luca does seem to be taking advantage of Sahar."

"You did?"

Jumin nods his head.

"It was strange at first, for Luca to go for Sahar out of all the girls in this school. But as I watched them more, it all started to fall into place. The boy only liked her for her touch and nothing else."

"Do you think Asher realises?" Helius asks.

Jumin thinks back to the platinum blonde. He pretends as if he doesn't like Sahar but he truly does. He's sure that Asher is aware of Luca using Sahar but he doesn't want to stop it because all he wants is Luca to be happy. And that he doesn't want to like Sahar further because he's scared of losing her once again.

"Probably." Jumin murmurs.

"There's no end to this." Helius whispers, glancing at his phone with a frown.

"If you wish Luca to get over his allergy and ditch Sahar, would that be wrong or right?" Jumin questions, glancing up at the dismal sky.

Helius ponders for a moment. "I'm not sure, do you think it's selfish that I want her away from him?"

Jumin looks at Helius. I think it is selfish because Asher deserves her out of all the people in this world, he thought to himself. But fate doesn't want to work in the way Jumin wants it to, it wants to work on its own accord.

"If you like her I'd say risk it all."

Helius glances at him with shock. "But if I do that then that would be breaking a rule."

"Who cares about rules these days anyways? They're made to be broken eventually." Jumin murmurs, his gaze focused on the sky once again.

"Secrets, secrets are meant to be kept."

"And why do you think that, Helius?"

"Because I wouldn't want anyone finding out my own secret," he whispers, leaning his head on the bench. "That's why I'll keep Luca's secret, not because I respect him but because I wouldn't want it happening to me."

"You're something else Helius, I guess that's why they call you golden boy at Devon Academy." Jumin says, his eyes focused on the puffy clouds dancing along the horizons.

"I'm everything but that."

"Why do you think that?"

"Just a gut feeling Jumin, I just don't know what to feel anymore."

Helius' words cause Jumin to freeze. Those were the same exact words Helius said after contemplating whether or not to take his life after his sisters death which was caused by Luca Valdez.
