Chapter 20: Escape Valve XVI

Love me PsychoWords: 11664

Maya's

Sunny morning in rich town. Where the wealthy gets their vomit cleaned up by a servant after a night full of cocaine, rum and whores and expending Daddy's credit card. As I was doing right now, buying stuff with my Sugar Daddy's card. I just hoped I could sell many of these stuff online for a good price because how the hell am I supposed to dress so fancy to go to Wendy's or even a nice restaurant? My regular life doesn't consist in going to gala, balls and parties each weekend. I was glancing out of the big French windows in the Boutique thinking about this when Sarah pulled me out my thoughts.

- Maya, this dress will look nice on you! Come on, try it, it must fit tight in those curves. - She passed me a long green dress with a strap on the shoulder. It was really good looking.

- I'm pretty sure it must fit, it looks like me. I'll be back to try it on! - I smiled at her while entering the changing room silently praying that this one would fit so we could just get out of here and explore more of this town.

I had a little trouble getting up through my hips but after breaking a little sweat I was able to zip it and look at my figure in the mirror. Damn! Money can make you pretty, you just need enough. I exited the room into the front side of the Boutique to show Sarah my dress when I overheard some whispering going on between one of the Boutique's assistant and another customer.

- Do you think Pezzotti's daughters will be there? They ended this fashion week in Paris, they were stunning. I heard some rumors one of them ended her relationship with this local singer. - She snickered lowly as through she was really being discrete about it.

- Yes, he wasn't famous internationally anyways, if it wasn't for my cousin obsessing over him I wouldn't know he existed. - They were giggling like 2 banshees until they saw me approaching their side to look for Sarah with judging faces looking me up and down. I wondered where the hell she is.

- She needs to fix her skin, she's looking like a cracked egg in that dress and doesn't even know. - Commented one of them. They continued to laugh as if I couldn't hear their annoying voices. I wasn't on the mood to talk back so I continued to walk towards the left front of the Boutique, this place was bigger than a regular Boutique to be precise.

- Oh! Look at her, Carolina, she looks gorgeous! - Sarah exclaimed to what I assumed must be the owner or manager of this place while walking towards me to inspect me.

I made a little twirl and grinned at them. Feeling just a bit nervous when the mentioned woman, Carolina, just studied me from toes to head with non expressive eyes. Jeez, is it too obvious that I don't belong here like, do I need better hairdresser and visit the spa or have my makeup done professionally? Maybe, yes, but give me break I'm trying to adapt.

- She needs to walk with straight shoulders and get a treatment in that face and nails and she will survive. - She then turned to Sarah with a smile and warm face. - I'll proceed to pack every order. Enjoy your ball, I'll send in a surprise for both of you in your anniversary night. I'll join you guys in another time. - She said while side hugging Sarah from the back. She then put on a hypocrite mask on her face and started at me one again.

- Now do you want to leave the store using the dress or should I pack it too? - She said while maintaining her harmonious voice that didn't match the face Sarah couldn't see.

Can I kill her? God, please.

- No, I'll remove it instead, thanks. - I gave her a fake smile to pair her intention.

A few minutes later and we were seated in the Mercedes assigned to us while being closely followed by a Tahoe with more security. I assume this is all Nicklaus monkeys, of course, his precious wife, he loves her dearly by the looks of it. Who knows if someday I'll be genuinely loved that way too. Which just reminded me of the libido I left this morning in the sheets after Draco performed one of his tricks on my already sore body. I need the pills now.

- Sarah, I almost forgot, I need to drop by a Pharmacy, I thought I carried my pills with me for the trip but I think I was clumsy enough to leave them behind. Can you arrange something? - I said looking a bit desperate. I was already risking shit with all the fuckings.

- Of course, I'm sure you want to know each other more and besides he needs to put a ring on it first, lady. Don't worry, I can get you on it without prescription. - She looked at me reassuringly and commanded the chauffeur to direct us there while I smiled thankful that she stopped her comment there. I don't really need this chat about a non existent future with Draco. I just prayed that future wasn't already in my ovaries.

Draco's

High end ceilings adorned with chandeliers hanging tall from its position, its illumination drawing shadows in the rounded ceiling of the big ballroom. Hired waiters and staff moving furniture, rushing around the clock for a dime. Chocolate fountains at disposition, full of a table bunched with 10 different delicacies to bite on, gluten and fat free, of course. Gold and black accent  surrounding the whole room making the ball smell rich, discrete, alluring. Everything falling into place for an Italian party. Nicklaus was coming towards me dressed in his khaki pants and cubavera shirt, his smile reflecting his wrinkles and eyes full of knowledge.

- I assume everything looks up to your approval for tonight. - I murmured quietly.

- Yes, she will definitely love it. After all these years of marriage I'm finally quite useful at bossing around these ladies decorating- He proudly nodded his head, gazing up the chandelier with gold specs making his eyes luminous.

- Marriage is a pandora box for me. I don't ever dare to get close to it. - I smirked looking at the stairs new decor.

- Don't get too cocky, who knows if it is closer than you think? First thing you're this confident, domineering man and without even knowing you end up doing anything for their attention. - He clapped my back guiding me towards the patio.

- Are we expecting any casualties or unknown presences? - I looked him with a serious frown seeing how his face changed its joyful demeanor.

- We may expect some challenging interactions with our Russian partners, a few Arabs and their women, nothing out of the ordinary, just make sure you stay out of the Russian's noses, the water is cooling down just now. - He took a glass of white wine and smelled it, inspecting its quality.

- It's been a couple of months already, why don't they quit their whining? They can just make their demand and everything will be better. It's most like they're quietly plotting some shit meanwhile we're here making a front to erase their madness seeing each other's faces talking like everything is fine in the outside. - I started to undo my collar buttons getting hot and agitated when Niklaus grabbed me by the sleeve toning down his voice. - Remain calm. They'll make their demand whenever they want to, just don't fuck this up for any of us. Don't show hints of weakness, they'd be preying on it.

I forced myself to event my own breathing and remain calm despite the anxiousness I was feeling inside. I didn't want to get involved in this mess in the first place. I guess when you have power and money sooner or later you get involved into dangerous waters, almost inevitable as a tide wave.

See, it isn't hard to fall into the web, it only becomes impossible for you to leave the cicle when interests are involved. Then you wake up each day with anxiety knowing you have to make it work as your people's neck is on the line.

First you want your company to be saved, in the process of it some predator seize your weakness and prey on it, making you wish that you were a medium class man with simple issues in mind instead of worrying about your family and friend's security besides your own. Getting your partners and side business naked to their eyes. This is a long game, one that will require a lot of stress and skill on everyone's side, but surely enough we'll come up with a scape valve to save my ass.

Seline Belov's

- Signorina Seline? - The reluctant maid repeated the question once again. - Are you going to wear the Prada with the Louis Vuitton heels or ...

- Yes, those. - Seline's mind suddenly into the present. The jet lag and last night clubbing went hard on her face, eye bags circling her diamond face. - I want my make up to be vibrant and cover any tiredness in sight, I don't wanna look like some party bratty. - She turned her face to her MUA which was arranging the make up to begin.

She didn't want to be there, getting ready for a boring ball, but she knew better than to disappoint her uncle. She cannot afford it at this time. She wanted to go to Brazil without supervision only her friends and assigned bodyguard. The parties are some kind of different world in São Paulo, cannot wait to experience it first hand, she was already bored visiting the same places under her uncle's supervision, she was over it already, always behind her movements watching and dictating her steps. She was feeling owned by him. Truth was, she was almost afraid of him. Maybe out of respect. He got into her father's shoes after he died 5 years ago. She was devastated, going into drugs, partying all week, having sex with strangers. She was resenting her Mom for not being strong. She lost herself too, letting my uncle take care of us. He said he loves us, that we were enough for him after losing his brother. His only brother. He didn't ever have a family of his own. Why? I'd like to know but I cannot imagine him domesticated in any way not even playing with kids. He was the strong one in the family, getting his niece into a private clinic in Belize for months, without any contact not even her own mother. She was resenting him for that too. Rehab wasn't an easy job. It felt like a prison. She's now monitored and have 2 bodyguards following her movements, making sure she didn't do anything stupid, not even in college where she was sent to study Business. It felt right as she didn't have any plans or vocation for her own life or a future after her family's tragedy. Her own mother is into pills now, might as well be killing her neurons for all I know. She wasn't an independent woman when married to Dad, but her mind was content and present. Now she's almost robotic in her own behavior but a nice technique that doesn't allow anyone else to notice, only us that know her best.

Her phone ringed. Her uncle's name displaying on FaceTime. - You look nice, Zaychik. - Her uncle's eyes shinning with adornment while the rest of his face looked stony and bored. She learned the difference over the years. Barely showing affection when needed. Not even when her brother died.

This odd thought remained in my head while he was talking over the phone. - I need you to look at your email. Some guests at the ball for you to look into. I want your eyes sharp for tonight, do you understand?

- Yes, uncle, I'll look into them right now. - I replied firmly watching him directly into his eyes as he taught me.

- I'll be there in 25 minutes to pick you up, Seline. Don't disappoint me. - He said in a smooth voice, with an underlying tone of dominance.

Oh, I won't.

Don't kill me! Are you an old reader? If yes, I FUKN LOVE YOU! Fuck m, this took so long. I promise the wait is over, I'm back on my game. I'm working on how I want to portray this book, I started to hate the cliche. I'm grown now, Wattpad is full of it so why add more to the mix? It needs coherence and action, more plot and drama, my taste has improved.
