she looked at the spaghetti and snelled its aroma, which would normally make her stomach growl with hunger, she suddenly felt waves of nausea and the urge to vonat Harper thought it was just because she was too hungry. However, as she was about to take a bite, she couldnât suppress the overwhelming nausea anymore, then rushed to the bathroom and retched continuously.
It was an awful sensation, and Harper falt as if her insides were being pulled out.
After a while, she finally felt better. Harper straightened up, only to find herself locking eyes with a pair of deep, interse eyes.
Her eyes widened in shock, and she quickly turned to face Benjamin, king, âWhen did you get back?â
Harper wondered, âHow come I didnât hear him coming in?â
Benjaminâs expression was calm as fixed his eyes intently on her. âWhatâs wrong with you?â
Harperâs expression betrayed a hint of panic, but she tried to sound calm in she replied, âItâs nothing.â
âAre you sure itâs nothing? He pressed on with a frown.
Harper just smiled, âOf course, what else could it be?â
Her eyes then blinked nervously, but she quickly stopped herself.
Benjamin, of course, noticedat. He narrowed his penetrating eyes as he looked straight into Harperâs as if he wanted to peer into her soul.
After a long while, he finally spoke up, âHarper, youâre not pregnant, are you?â
Benjaminâs choice of words was âyouâre not pregnant, are you?â instead ofâ âare you pregnant?â
Although there was just a slight difference in wording, it had graficant implications.
Harperia eyes trembled slightly, and her heart ached terribly as if an unseen force was gripping it.
She med, âBenjamin didnât hesitate at all in outright dismiss the possibility of pregnancy. He didnât show any doubt whatsoever.â
Harper met Benjaminâs gaze squarely and asked with a faint smile, âIf I were really pregnant, would you be willing to let me keep the baby?â
âYou couldnât possibly be pregnant,â he stated firmly, his deep eyes reflecting unwavering resolve.
Benjaminâs reaction deeply hurt Harper. She thought, So, deep down, he never considered the possibility of us having a child.â
She suppressed her discomfort and said with a light smile, âSace youâre so sure, then why are you doubting? After all, youâre always taken precautions every time we have sex. Have you forgotten?
Except for that one time when Benjamin was drunk, which he didnât remember afterward, and Harper wouldnât bring it up either.
Her expression remained unchanged when she said that, revealing no flaws.
Harperâs response exactly what Benjamin wanted to hear, but when he saw her mocking amirk, his handsome face tensed up slightly. He then felt as something sharp had brushed against his heart, up inderable emotions.
He frowned, and the emotions in his expression despeed. They looked at each other for a long while before he suggested. âIf youâre feeling unwell, should see a doctor. Shall I have Curtis arrange it for you?â

Harper shook her head and declined his offer. No need. I go by myself.â
Benjamin sighed, âYour health is your own responsibility. Donât fret over other matters. Or shall I accompany you myself?
She retorted, âBenjamin, said Iâll go by myself. Weâre getting a divorce anyway. Do you really think I keep relying on you? Are you sure Ma. Davis wonât mind?â
Benjamin fell silent at her words. His brows furrowed avan tighter, and distinguished face was cold as is without a trace of warmth.
Harper wamed herself inwardly, âDo you clearly now? He has no feelings or affection for you. You mean nothing to him. His only concern is Lauren.â
Benjaminâs silence led her to a moment of selfâmockery, Shortly after, the atmosphere quieted down as well. After while, he finally asked with a slight frown, âDid you told the Mitchall family about our divorce?â
