It's 6:30, the time Kuro usually picks Shiko up from her room. Shiko is ready but since doesn't come or answers Shiko's messages; she takes her stuff and slowly gets out of her room without being seen to other students. She heads over to Kuro and Haru's dorm and knocks a few times. Make students pass behind her now and then. They whisper to eachother
Student A: Isn't that the girl who used Kurosaki-Senpai..?
Student B: Shiko Kagome or whatever right? Yea! I heard she managed to trick him and still drags him around...
Student C: No way! Kurosaki-Senpai is a bad boy! He wouldn't be tricked so easily~ Maybe this she pays him with her body...?
The whispers continue from many people who pass by, Shiko quickly knocks again many times, frustrated. Haru opens the door, only wearing shorts, looking sleepy, Shiko's face turns completely red. Haru smiles tiredly
Haru: Morniiing...~ Come in~ he stands to the side. Shiko quickly nods and rushes in without making eye contact, Haru closes the door and heads over beside his bed. He finds some clothes that'd look good and put them on. Shiko looks at Kuro in his bed.
Shiko: Thats unusual... she says, kinda suprised to see him sleeping in
Then again I guess he hadn't slept in 3 days soooo... she lightly smiles, Haru sighs and makes his bed. He opens one of Kuro's eyes and closes it.
Haru: I doubt he slept properly tonight either. He didn't sleep that early and did more work at the Yamiza thingy. He probably passed out. Shiko's eyes open wide
Shiko: P-Passed out? She opens Kuro's covers. He's laying very tidily and is wearing black shorts and a classic black t-shirt with a weird symbol
Shiko gets red once again, Haru giggles and takes his bag, He smirks at Shiko
Haru: Have fun~ he rolls Kuro off the bed and rushes to the door.
Ta-Ta~ he gets out and shuts the door loudly,
Shiko's eyes open wide as she hesitantly looks at a Kuro. Obviously haven woken up from everything, he sits up straight and holds his head
Kuro: Damn my head hurts... he cracks his neck a little, Shiko takes a deep breath and gets on her knees to Kuro's level. She puts her hand on Kuro's forehead.
Shiko: Well... you're not too hot but maybe you should stay in today... Kuro averts his eyes and grins as if trying to hold in a laugh
Hm? Shiko looks at him confused. Kuro looks at Shiko and smirks
Kuro: Thanks. The best thing to hear in the morning is how I'm not "hot" he giggles, Shiko realizes what she said and gets completely red, she lightly hits Kuro's chest
Shiko: Y-You know that's not what I meant! Kuro giggles
Kuro: So what, I am hot then? His smirk grows, Shiko's eyes open wider. She looks at Kuro and puffs her cheeks, unable to udder a word. Kuro giggles and pets Shiko's head
Heh, You look like an angry hamster~ Cute. He ruffles her hair and gets up, Shiko gets up grumpily. Kuro quickly makes his bed and looks at Shiko.
I'm not skipping class. Especially not when even Haru got out before me. He takes his bag
Plus I gotta tell him off for pushing me of the bed like that. He looks annoyed for a bit. Shiko takes a deep breath and smiles, Relieved that he knew it wasn't her that did that.
Be back in a minute. I'll change in the bathroom, you suit yourself. Shiko nods. Kuro takes a shirt and pants from his closet, heads to the bathroom and comes back in a bit. He nods as if saying "I'm ready"
Shiko: Let's... go to the cafeteria then~ She lightly smiles, Kuro nods
They silently get out the dorm and head to the cafeteria. People talk. Lots of people talk behind Kuro and Shiko. About how Kuro is being used, Shiko is cruel, Kuro is a fool, Shiko is using her body to take Kuro on her side. Many more rumors that are still in the air from the Show&Tell the Tripple Trouble Trio showed the school last Wednesday. Kuro looks at the people with the corner of his eye. As if telling them to shut it.
They slowly make their way to the cafeteria and eat next to Haru and Aiko. They all chat, talk about their weekends and for once seem like a regular friend group in a regular school. But soon enough? The bell rings. Aiko rushes away and Haru goes with her to take her to her classroom. Kuro and Shiko put their plates away.
Shiko: What're your first classes..? She asks as they start walking away from the cafeteria, trying to turn a blind eye to the people who believe the rumors.
Kuro: My favorite, Reading and Writing~ he smiles lightly yet still looks kinda tired
Shiko: Lucky... mine is P.E... technically swimming month...
Kuro: Oh! I forgot to tell you! You probably didn't see the message on the school's site but our School Nurse Haruna-San apperantly told some people about you almost drowning because of a student to some people. Without giving out your name of course. Swimming classes this month have been canceled. You're going to be doing track instead. He smiles, Shiko's face lightens.
Shiko: T-That's great!~ I've got to go thank her some time~ But how did she convince anyone and who...? Kuro smirks
Kuro: Haruna-San has her ways. I'm sure it was something along the lines of...
"You wouldn't want our school to face any problems would you..? Being the P.E teacher, I'm sure it wouldn't be easy for you to talk about someone who almost drowned in your pool...This job makes it easy for you to be lazy and get payed so... losing it could be troublesome." He giggles sneakily, Shiko slowly claps a few times
Shiko: Smart.... so you think she tempted the swimming teacher? Kuro nods and they generally start to make small talk until they get to the changing buildings next to the track in the schools side field. Kuro waves at Shiko and leaves after dropping her of. Erika approaches Shiko
Erika: Oooooo~ Dropping you off eh? Even after all the naaaasty drama going on?~ So brave!~ she giggles, Shiko looks at Erika, takes a deep breath and faces her straight
Shiko: He's just being nice. I've done nothing wrong.... He knows this... Stop trying to be cute with me when I know how you really look at me... she says trying to be as little hesitant as possible, Erika looks surprised yet kinda annoyed
Eriko: Tch. Got 3 friends and became the top of the world?. Know you're place before Nagisa becomes the one to put you back into it. She gets even closer in front of her as if tempting, Shiko gulps but tries to look confident and careful not to shake her voice
Shiko: Why Nagisa? Can you only do what she orders you to? Erika gets real mad for a bit and holds her collar roughly
Erika: What did you say!?. Few students from their class look at them and whisper about Shiko. How she deserves it and more
Shiko: Let go... she utters lightly
Erika: Do you think, anyone here would be sorry for you if I punched you?. Here and now?. She says, loudly. mad. Shiko feels all her fear slowly fade away. Her expression turns light as her body feels loose. She holds Erika's wrists that is holding her and forces her to let go
Shiko: I don't want anyone to be sorry for me. You wouldn't be able to punch me anyway... she says without much expression and not thinking. She starts to walk away.
Erika looks like she's twitching from anger slightly. She holds Shiko's shoulder and turns her around, about to punch her, Shiko's eyes widen as she suddenly dodges quickly. Eriko punches the air. Surprised, her eyes widen. She looks at her hand. A small smile suddenly appears on Shiko's face.
Shiko: I... I did it... she says very quietly, proud of herself. Erika turns away and takes a deep breath
Erika: You'll regret humiliating me... I'll find something so bad to do that you'll be sorry.... she rushes away and shuts herself in the changing room.
Shiko looks at herself and sees that her outfit is actually okay for track. She's wearing a white shoulderless shirt tied the way Kuro showed her and comfortable Grey pants that are almost like sweatpants. In about 20 minutes. Class starts and many people start to run. Four by four. Erika runs first and leaves early without telling the teacher. Shiko feels like her breathing and agility is actually better while running. She falls in thought
Shiko: "Heh.... I can't believe I protected myself! I feel so much better!~ Maybe the way i can now eat from both genders food lines, how my fighting practices helped me and more made me more confident..." she smiles to herself while running
"Thanks Kuro........."
Slowly it's time for class to end, people start leaving Shiko Hears a cat meowing, almost like it's in pain. It's coming from behind the changing building. She hesitantly gets close and looks from the corner. A cat is being held down by 3 male students. Shiko's eyes widen. The students suddenly let go of the cat as it runs away, unharmed. One of the students pull Shiko from the side of the wall and all three of them push her against it
Student A: Well well well, what do we have here! A lost kitty!~ Shiko's eyes widen, being 3 against 1. She can't say anything and falls silent, she gulps.
Student B: Erika told us that Nagisa asked for your pain. You must have been a very bad girl to upset Nagisa-San, the goddess. He smirks
Student C: Bad Girls need punishment. All three of the guys look at Shiko like hyenas looking at prey.
That's when Shiko realizes something. All 3 of the guys are from the swimming club. They've never spoken but she's seen them before. She takes a deep breath and utters...
Shiko: Y-Your captain would be disappointed in you... 3 guys bullying a single girl.... she says very very silently. 2 of them giggle like psychos.
Studen A: He's not going to find out. Plus you are the one using him. We'd be doing him a favor. He says with a big smirk
Student B: Plus haven't you heard anything in Nagisa-Sana'a Show&Tell..? You aren't to be treated like a girl anymore. Shiko gulps. One of the guys let go with a smirk
Student C: You know what guys? She might be right. The two other students look at him, confused.
Let's take a go at her one by one. There is still time before Cap comes to his class here. The other two guys also take a step back. They all try to go at her one by one but being against a wall, Shiko struggles to dodge a lot but manages to not get anything critical hit for a while before...
Kuro suddenly rushes towards them from the side and punches one of the guys to the ground. Shiko falls to the ground, relieved that she's not alone anymore, terrified.
Kuro also looks absolutely mad. He holds one of the other guys from the shoulder and knees his stomach, the guy falls to the ground. Shiko's eyes widen more, she looks at Kuro, unable to say anything. The last guy tries to punch Kuro but he dodges and makes him fall down by dragging his leg under the students feet. He stands up and looks at the three students on the ground, breathing heavily.
Shiko holds the wall and hesitantly gets up. She gulps and puts her hand on Kuro's back.
Shiko: "T-That's enough... Calm down..." she says very very quietly, hesitant and with stutter, Kuro turns to Shiko, still mad
Kuro: Why didn't you scream!? Why did you try to fight them of!? Somebody could have heard you and come to help earlier! What if I didn't come for class early!? What would you plan to do then!? He says loudly. The students slowly try to scream but Kuro looks at them really pissed
Move one muscle and you'll regret it. All three of the students freeze solid on the ground and nod quickly. Kuro looks back at Shiko, waiting for an answer. Shiko takes a deep breath and forces her voice to talk
Shiko: I... was scared... I couldn't let out a word properly...... Erika tricked them and told them this was Nagisa's wish... Kuro puts his hand next to Shiko on the wall
Kuro: I could figure that out. I'm not asking why it happened I'm asking why you acted the way you did. If you were scared why did you try fighting!? I understand you trying to dodge but... He still looks kinda mad and tired. Shiko takes a deep breath and raises her voice
Shiko: A-Aren't you being a little insensitive, getting mad at the one who got attacked!? What was I supposed to do!? Kuro takes his hand back and looks at the three students, they feel shivers down their spines
Kuro: I'm throwing all three of you out of the swimming team. If you get near this girl ever again I'll break your legs. If you even continue bullying people at all; You'll regret it. He takes a step near them and looks into their eyes without expression
You'll be more then suspended on this path if I did a little digging. I suggest you turn a new leaf before it's too late. He points to the side with his head, telling the students to scram. And in a few second; they are already gone. Kuro looks at Shiko. She looks down.
Shiko: I'm... fine.... thank you but, if you're going to be like that, you didn't have to save me.. she averts her eyes. Kuro takes a deep breath. He looks tired and still pissed.
Kuro: Do what you want. Go to your next class. Recess is almost over. I'm suggesting this as your senior. Not as a friend. He says seriously and leaves the back of the building.
Shiko looks suprised. She falls to the ground again as her eyes fill with tears. She burries her face her legs.
Shiko: "Why did this happen.........." she wipes her eyes and looks at her old self harm scars on her inner arms, she gulps and keeps looking at it for a few minutes. But she fights her mind and doesn't hurt herself. She gets up and takes a breather.
"I... don't want to lose my first friend... but he was so cold to me......."
she slaps her face from both sides lightly and starts walking away from where the fight happened.
She heads to the infirmary and hesitantly gets in. Nurse Haruna looks at her with a smile
Haruna: Oh so many visits today~ Hello dear, why the sour face?
Shiko hesitantly smiles but she's clearly blue. She gets near the room Haruna is sitting and looks at the students in the corner of the room. It's the three students that attacked Shiko, they all see her and gulp. Two of them look down, the third one looks at Haruna-San.
Student B: I-I think we're fine! We can leave... Haruna looks at them, suprised
Haruna: Well... I applied the cream for your face already... must have been quite a punch... she looks at the other two students
But one of your friend here seems to have gotten a real hit in the stomach. Probably better that he lays down a little inside. Student B averts his eyes and nods. Him and Student C Leaves.
One student remains and slowly heads to the hospital beds in the next room without making eye contact the Shiko and shuts the curtain silently. Shiko hesitantly sits in front of Haruna-San's desk and takes a deep breath.
Haruna: So, what happened to the newly famous Shiko Kagome today? She lightly giggles, Shiko looks suprised and confused
Shiko: D-Did you...watch the Show&Tell...? Haruna-San... she asks hesitantly. Haruna smiles and nods
Haruna: Many things like what you "did" really do happen in this school. But I knew for a fact that this time it was completely a false claim. I know Kurosaki-Kun better than I know most of the students. He wouldn't be controlled so easily. Don't worry, you've got me on your side. She says with a warm smile
Shiko lets out a breather, relieved and lightly smiles. She tells Haruna all about how Kuro and her became friends, how just know she got attacked and her and Kuro had a small argument. Of course she doesn't tell her any private family details and stuff. She finishes explaining and sighs. Haruna thinks silently a bit and nods.
Haruna: Okay. You got mad for no reason. He was trying to protect you because he treasures you in a way. So even if he was tired, he "had" to fight and that made his anger unstable. What would you think if you were tired out of your mind and someone made you run around the school? Think of it like that. She says in thought. Shiko looks down.
Shiko: I guess I understand... But he wasn't someone who'd waste time on threatening bullies before... She says hesitantly, Haruna smiles
Haruna: That just means you're special~ I doubt he'd get as mad for anyone else.~ she winks, Shiko gets slightly red
Now... Let me treat the places that you got hit, THEN you should go apologize. Better now than later~ she takes out a few cream and medications and starts treating Shiko
Shiko: B-But he should be in class now... so should I really... he could be mad... she says hesitantly. Haruna shakes her head no
Haruna: He came in a bit ago. Looked at the three students here like they were trash and took multiple medications and pills. That's how I figured he was tired. He usually takes those things to stay awake instead of going to sleep early like a healthy person. She sighs
If he beat those students that quickly in a fight; he probably went to the student council room to blow off some steam. Shiko looks at her suprised
Shiko: W-What!? Why there...? She asks hesitantly
Haruna: I honestly don't know. I've seen him go in there a few times mad and he just gets out tired. I'm usually on that floor to go check up on Yami-San. Just incase the electro shocks from his collar affected him worse than we can see. She finishes treating Shiko and smiles lightly
There, done!~ she looks at her face
Now now, good luck~ Shiko gulps and nods. She gets up and out of the infirmary. She starts heading the the student council room as thoughts cloud her head
Shiko: "What if he's not there... What if there is only President Zero or Vice-President Yami.... Then what am I going to do....?"
Stressed, she slowly makes her way up and gets in front of the Student Council Room. She gulps and puts her hand on the door. She feels her body get heavy.
Shiko: "I have a really strong feeling Vice-Pres Yami is inside...." she takes a deep breath and tries to open the door without knocking just to peak a little. But the door opens on itself even more from wind from the open window on the corridor behind Shiko. Shiko sees Yami and Kuro fighting, Kuro looks at Shiko and just as he's distracted, Yami lands a punch on Kuro's cheek and Kuro falls to the ground. Yet Yami is as expressionless as ever. Shiko's eyes widen. Kuro holds his cheek and rubs it, obviously feeling the pain. Yami looks at Shiko and takes a step towards her.
Yami: Can I get out?. He asks, his deep voice making Shiko's body feel fear and get cold. She hesitantly shakes her head no and closes the door behind her, staying inside. Yami Shucks his shoulders and looks at Kuro
In the end; i was right. You became soft and couldn't compete with me. Better luck next time. He says without a twitch. He heads to his favorite one person couch on the side of the room and sits down. Shiko tries to get close to help Kuro but he puts his hand in the air at her as if saying "no." He gets up.
Kuro: What are you doing here?. It's dangerous to come here alone and you should be in class. Haven't you learned your lesson about that. He says without thought and averts his eyes. Shiko gulps.
Shiko: I.... came to find you.... Haruna-San said... she says hesitantly but cuts off and falls kind of silent.
Kuro: Oh, and if I wasn't here? He ask without much emotion in his tone and looks at her. Shiko looks down. Kuro gets near her.
Look I'm tired, I don't have time to deal with this... he holds Shiko's arm and opens the door. He gets out with her and closes it back behind them. He starts walking, pulling her around. He starts going down the stairs
Shiko: W-Where are we going...? She asks hesitantly
Kuro: You are going to class. I'm taking you and going back to my room to treat my face and take some pills. He sighs, Shiko gulps
Shiko: B-But didn't you just take pills..? You... should rest a little... She says silently
Kuro: None of your business. Shiko pulls her arm away. Kuro looks at her.
Shiko: Fine. You just go! I can go to class myself! She rushes away from Kuro, teary eyed. Kuro kicks the wall, mad.
The rest of the day feels like a blur and classes pass quickly, somebody bumps to Shiko's desk and wakes her up. She holds her head, sighs and silently packs up her stuff before leaving. She heads to her room and drops off her stuff before taking a walk around school. She passed through the corridors, looks around in the music hall, looks around the backyard playground and of course doesn't see Kuro anywhere. She sits at the swings and sighs. A few minutes pass in silence of Shiko not knowing what to do. She messages Aiko to come over. After she arrives her mood gets slightly better. They talk more about Aiko's fake date with Haru a little to lighten the mood but when that doesn't work; Aiko asks what happened to Shiko. She slowly explains everything and sighs one last time.
Aiko: Rough... He does seem to be hurting himself more than anybody else though... she swings a little on her swing
You know I have anger issues. Even if I couldn't do anything to them. I'm Kuro's shoes; I'd probably try to beat them even harder.. she ruffles the back of his hair
So I can't say for sure he was too wrong for doing what he did but I agree with you that he really needs some rest.. Shiko silently nods and very lightly smiles
Shiko: Maybe the reason he's so on edge is because of his lack of rest... It's funny though, the reason this entire quarrel happened was because of my fighting and all I want to do right now is practice more... Aiko ruffles Shiko's hair and gets up from the swimming
Aiko: Heh, I have a promise to your prince of darkness to be in the swimming team. So I'm going to go to the pool. See ya later... she waves and walks away. Shiko takes a breather in thought for a few minutes and gets up. After her practicing for like an hour, an announcement is heard in the school and echoes outside.
Announcement Voice A: "Kurosaki Kaito! Kurosaki Kaito! You are immediately summoned to the Student Council Room. Urgent."
Another voice is heard from the back in the announcement,
Voice B: "And next time open your phone, Dumbass!-" the announcement is quickly cut
Shiko's eyes open wide
Shiko: "C-Could this be about how he beat up those students...?" She quickly shakes her head no
"N-No... in this school, stuff like that isn't considered misbehaving... Then what are they summoning him for..?" She quickly rushes out of the backyard playground but then stops
"S-Should I go there...? I would probably get in more trouble..." she scratches her head with both her hands, trying to think
"But if it really is my fault, I should work up the courage to defend Kuro shouldn't I..?"
She starts running in the school; heading to the council room
"If I get there before Kuro... I probably would be calmer..." she quickly goes up the floors and gets in front of the council room. She stops and gulps
"But wait... the announcement voice wasn't Yami-San or President Zero.......... there was also that voice in the back..." she hesitantly puts her ear on the door
"I should at least listen to see if Kuro is in there yet or not..." after a few seconds of her trying to hear something.
The door is quickly opens and she falls on the ground in the entrance of the room. There are two men standing there, Yami who has opened the door also goes next to them. The one in the middle is facing the other direction and has his shirt off. He has a huge black wings tattoo on his back. He turns his face to Shiko. Yami and the other two men's eyes seem to glisten with a murderous intent as they meet eyes with Shiko. The one in the middle has almost red looking brown eyes and the one on the right has husky blue eyes. Shiko gulps and feels her body start to tremble. Her eyes get slightly teary as she accidentally lets out a word she probably shouldn't have...
Shiko: YNTK......... she says very, very silently
