~Jade's POV~

I wake up to the feeling of gentle kisses being placed on and in between my chest. Leading up to my neck, then my cheek, and finally, onto my lips. I pretend to still be asleep and he kisses me twice, and after the third time, I couldn't help but kiss him back. He pulls away, and I open my eyes finally. "Good morning beautiful." He tells me, and I smile.

"Good morning handsome." I respond, and we kiss again. Suddenly, we both hear our new doorbell. He kisses me once more and stands from the bed, and puts both his pants and shirt back on. I stand and do the same as he heads out our room and down stairs to answer the door. I get dressed, and head down as well.

And by the time I get down there, he's already opened the door. It was my brother's, Lauren, Tobias's mother and of course, his baby sister. Oh and Jasper too, his mother brought him over. My brother's and Lauren engulf me separately, congratulating me. While Tobias's mom pinches his cheek and his sister gives him a big hug.

The greetings were cut short once both of our families looked around. "Holy shit." My older brother says, gazing at the view our living room had. "So I see the job comes with perks." His mother comments, mainly admiring the kitchen. "There's an upstairs?!" Lauren shouts, looking over at the spiral stairs. They all looked to us, obviously asking permission to look around.

"Of course, go ahead. Matter fact, this place is so huge, we haven't even finished looking around." I say, and I grab Tobias's hand and head towards this glass sliding door, off the the side of the living room. Everyone else wanders off as well. The door lead to the most beautiful balcony ever, the floors were tile and the railings were thick metal, that shaped one Dauntless symbol at the very center of it. I hold his hand as we both walk over to the railing, watching the sun rise more and more. "I'm never going to get over this view." I say, and I look amongst the city. I spot The hub, and nearly every factions headquarters. I also spot the abandoned amusement park.

"Me neither," My love says, staring directly at me. He spins me around, and blush as he pulls me close. I squint my eyes at him though, "There's been something off about you, you've been acting very sweet." I say, and he laughs a little, "Isn't that what boyfriends are supposed to do, be sweet to their girlfriends?" He asks, "Yes but, I feel like there's something behind your sweetness. I feel like you're hiding something from me." I finally tell him, and I watch him get uneasy just from his body language. "See? That's how I know I'm right, you just got fidgety. Tell me what it is, right now." I demand, and he rubs the back of his neck while smiling.

"I'm not hiding anything from you Natalie." He says, looking away from me every other second. I hold his jaw and make him look directly into my eyes, "Alright, tell me that again then." I say, looking his eyes. He opens his mouth to speak but, words don't find their way out. "Ah ha! You are hiding something from me." I say, and he shakes his head. "Okay, fine fine. I have a surprise for you for our anniversary." He tells me, and I get excited.

"You do? Ooo give me a hint. Pleaseeeee." I beg of him, and he shakes his head. "No can do. You won't find out anything until twenty-nine days from now." He says, and I pout. "Fine, then I guess I won't hint on what my surprise is." I say, turning and walking back inside with my arms crossed. I walk back in to catch Miles flopping face first onto our couch, getting his shoe prints all over my arm rest. I throw his feet off with my power and yet, he looks straight at me, and puts them right back up.

My nose twitches and the grin on his face dims. I run and I jump onto my brother, back first. He groans at the impact, and continues to do so as I applied all of my weight. "Uhhhh get off me you elephant." He demands, and I gasp sitting up and hitting him. "You're mean, I am not that heavy. And to think, I was gonna make you the new transfer instructor." I tell him and he sits up, smiling.

"Okay okay, I'm sorry sissy. Pleaseeeeee, forgive your bubbieeee." He apologizes and begs, and I whisper what he could do for me to earn it back in his ear. He pulls away, and he nods with a mischievous smile. I walk back over to my love, and I try again, "Okay, can you please give me a teeny tiny hint of what my surprise is? Pleaseeeee my hubby." I ask, and he cups my cheek and kisses me once. "No, I really can't. You can wait though." He says, and I hear my brother gasp behind us. I smile at Tobias and look at my brother, "Well, it's a good thing I have a mind reading brother." I tease, and Tobias's eyes widen as he seems to realize.

We both race over to Miles, but he gets to him first. "Miles don't tell her anything." - "Miles, remember the deal, and not to mention, I'm your sissy. Tell me." I make it over to the couch next to him, and he seemed to be staring dead at Four with his mouth agape. "Oh my god, is it something serious?" I question, and Four smacks Miles out of his trance. "I'm sorry Nat, I read his mind twice and it's pretty clear I'm gonna be punched if I say anything." My brother looks over and tells me. Ugh! Well, I tried.

"Fine whatever then, I'm not talking to you for the rest of initiate training, and you," I point at my love, "I'm not talking to you for the rest of the day." I announce and I cross my arms before grunting all the way upstairs and back into my room.

~Tobias's POV~

I watch my love stomp her way up our stairs and into our room. And I have to admit, it was pretty adorable. There's no way she can go without talking to be all day, especially when we have a limited amount of time before the bet commences. "Why did Natalie just storm off? What did you do young man?" My mother comes out of the kitchen asking, putting her hands on her hips. "Oh don't worry, she's just throwing one of her fits. Since I won't tell her the surprise I have for our anniversary. She always acts like this when she doesn't get her way with me." I explain to my mother, and I feel Natalie pull my hair with her ability.

I hiss, but luckily my mother doesn't notice. "What's the surprise hm?" My mom asks, and just as I was about to simply blurt it out, I remember how good my woman's hearing is. So I tap my left ring finger, and then point upstairs, in the direction where Natalie went. Lauren happens to walk in on my gestures, "Oh my god! You're gonna p-," She almost yells, but luckily, Liam stopped her with a hand over her mouth. My mother's eyes widen, and she starts jumping for joy.

"Oh my goodness!" She nearly shrieks, and she gives me a big hug. "I'm so happy for you. She's gonna be so surprised." She says, releasing me. But unfortunately, she notices a little something on my neck. "Hopefully your anniversary's around the corner. Cuz it seems as if an addition to this family might make itself known here pretty soon." She says, poking both my hickeys. Lauren, Liam, and Miles all laugh and I roll my eyes. "Woah there Four, are those hickeys? Has the deal finally been sealed?" Lauren questions, and I shake my head.

"Okay first all, just cuz I have them doesn't mean anything went down, and second, I'm not gonna talk about boning my girlfriend in front of my mother, nonetheless said girlfriends brother's." I say, and Lauren laughs a bit. "And anyways, Four here would never hear the end of it from our father if he got our sister pregnant at this age. So I doubt anything happened. I do say though, that room of yours sure is baby making ready." Miles says, and I facepalm. "Ugh don't remind me, your guy's father is like the definition of passive-aggressive. Sometimes I'm the son-in-law, and other times, I'm the god forsaken older boyfriend. And don't jinx me man, if that happens, I'll be a dead man walking. Or at least, I'll be null and void to him. And that's exactly what I don't need, especially considering my surprise for his daughter." I say, and Liam nudges me with his elbow and hands me something. The ring. "Ima just do you this favor and speed along this part." He says near my ear, and I'm confused as to what he means until he points over to Miles.

"What's that? And why are you pointing at me?" He asks, and stands from the couch. I hand him the box, and I take out the little pen and pad I started carrying with me when I became beta. I write, 'Your father wanted me to ask for his blessing, and when I did, he gave me it along with this ring. Your mother's wedding ring.' And I hand him the pad and he reads it, right before opening the box. Miles looks up at me, with a slight grimace. He nearly snatched the pen from me; Oh no.

He starts writing, quite angrily. He hands me back the ring, the pen, and pad, without another word. He grabs his jacket, and takes his leave. I'm drawn speechless, and I look down at what he wrote. 'Tell my sister she has one last day of initiate training, I'm gonna go have a chat with our dad.' Oh fuck me.

Miles is the firstborn out of their family, and not to mention, a male just like me. He's the one that's supposed to get the hand-me-down ring, not me. And that's exactly how he feels. I look over at Liam, wondering why on earth he made that happen faster than it needed too. "Don't even worry about him, he's fine. Or uh, he will be at least." His younger brother tells me, just before pecking Lauren on the cheek and going after him.

Lauren takes the note pad from me and both her and my mother read it. "Oh my, he's definitely upset." My mother comments, "good luck on explaining all of that, to you know who." Lauren says, gesturing to the front door and then pointing upstairs. "Great, now her brother has another reason to hate me." I say, and my mom looks at me funny. "Another?" She questions, and I sit down on my couch. "Yes, another mom, his first girlfriend fell in love with me. And now, this is happening. The guys gonna have a grudge against me like no other, and I might not even know it." I admit, honestly afraid.

Miles is going to be my brother-in-law, I don't want him to hate me. That's the exact opposite emotion I want him to have towards me. "I mean, if you keep thinking like that then yes, he just might. If Liam says he'll be fine, then I'm pretty sure he's gonna be fine. Just talk to him when they get back." Lauren says, flopping down on the couch beside me. My mother sits down on the loveseat, and my sister climbs up next to me and sits on my lap. "Where did Nat-Bat and uncles go?" She asks me, and hearing her speak made me smile.

"Nat-Bat is upstairs and uncles went to go see their dad. They'll be back." I tell her, and she takes the velvet box out of my hands and opens it. "Bubbie, is dis Nat-Bat's surprise?" She asks me, and I raise my eyebrows in shock, mainly at how much this little girl listens to and understands us. I nod, "Yes it is actually. What do you think? Do you think she'll like it?" I ask my sister, and she takes the ring and puts it on her teeny tiny ring finger and holds up her hand in the light. It hangs loosely around her little finger, and I laugh a bit when she squints at it. She finally nods, "I think she's gonna wuv it. Can you give it to her now?" She says and asks, taking it off, and putting it back into the little box.

I shake my head, "No, not yet. I'm going to soon though. Real soon." I tell her, holding her close in my lap while we both admire the ring. I glance up and I notice my mother with a hand over her heart and a smile on her face. A hand over her locket, to be exact. I smiled back at her, "Here, why don't you go show mommy Nat-Bat's surprise while I go and get her." I say, and she hops off my lap and climbs into my mother's, while I stand and head to and up the stairs. I make in front our bedroom door and I see that's it cracked so, I peek inside.

I see that she's writing something, in this pink little note book I've never seen before. I knock, and she quickly closes and hides the book as I step in our room. She sees that it's me and hides it even further behind her. "What is that?" I ask, walking over and climbing onto the bed with her. "Nothing, it's nothing. And also, go away, I told you I'm not talking to you for the rest of the day." She says, with a cute little 'hmph' at the end.

"Do you really think, you can go the whole day without talking to me? Me? Your boyfriend?" I ask her, "Well, I mean, it'll basically be practice for our future bet, so if I consider it like that, yes, I can go the whole day without speaking to you." She responds, nonchalant. I get close to her right ear, "Are you sure about that?" I ask in a whisper, as sultry as possible. And it was honestly too easy, I wait until she puts a gentle hand on my chest and I ghost my lips over hers. Her breath hitches, and I snatch the book from behind her. She gasps and tackles me onto the bed, and I hold the book as far away from her as possible.

"Babe nooo, please don't read that." She begs, and I wonder why she's not using her powers to get it. "Why can't I hm? Is this your little diary? Do you write about me?" I ask her, and she scoots to reach further by straddling my lap while I laid down. And I can't help but love when she sits on me like this. She took advantage of how distracted I got and snatched her book right back. She nearly gets away but, I grab her hips and press her back down onto my lap.

She tries to pry one hand off while clutching her book away from me. I laugh, "I wonder, are you ticklish babe?" I ask, giving her a mischievous smile. "Don't you dare Tobias." She warns me and I roll my eyes, before going straight for her sides. She drops the book, and falls onto the bed laughing, obviously trying to get away from me. "Babbeee stopppp!" She says in between fits of laughter, as I continue to be persistent with my fingers.

I stop, and quickly grab her book and run towards the door trying to flip through pages. All were blank where I was looking, "No! Tobias I'm gonna cry if you read anything. Your anniversary gift is in there!" She yells at me, throwing a fit. I stop instantly and close the book, and I let her take it from me. My heart beats fast at all the possible things it could be. Given what ever it may be, will undoubtedly be from her heart.

"Awe what is it my love?" I ask, and she shakes her head. "Definitely not telling you. You won't even give me a hint on what my gift is. Is it really that serious of a gift?" I ask him, and I nod my head unhesistantly. "Well, unless you can give me a little hint of my gift, these lips are gonna stay sealed and you're gonna stay out of my journal." She tells me, putting it in her bedside table. I ponder what on earth I could tell her without giving it away, "Anything I say will give it away." I tell her. She lays back down on the bed with a shrug, "well you better think hard, or you won't know a thing." She says, and I sit down next to her.

I need to at least know what it is, so I need to give her some kind of a hint. I think, and I think hard. "Alright fine, it's uh, its something you can wear. That's all I'm gonna say." I say, and she squints her eyes at me. "I'll take that. Alright, my gift, is something you can hear. I think you're gonna love it." She says to me, and I smile. "Well, I simply can not wait now." I respond, and she lays her head in my lap, "Twenty-nine days," she says, "and counting." I add.

~Third Person~

Later that day, Natalie and Lauren got through the very first day of second stage training, by themselves. When Natalie noticed her brothers were missing, Tobias was forced to partially lie. He told her they went to Amity in a hurry without even a goodbye to anyone due to one of Liam's visions. Luckily, she bought it. Even later that day though, Tobias's mother offers to make a big dinner.

And Tobias himself brings up his bestfriend Alex, and how he promised him he'd bring him over one Sunday to meet his girlfriend, friends, and family. Natalie of course, was happy to finally meet his bestfriend, as was his mother. His mother starts cooking, and both Natalie and Tobias jump in and start helping her. Lauren kept an eye on Mel while she was coloring, while Miles and Liam were in the middle of an intense game of uno. Tobias kisses Both Natalie and his mother on the cheek, and tells them he'll be right back with his special guest.

~Alexander's POV~

I stand from my bed and button my pants, and look behind me and watch Tris wipe the saliva from her mouth. Is it wrong that I'm taking advantage of this? Is it wrong I'm letting this young girl use me because I look like the guy she's in love with? Who of which happens to be my best-mate? It probably is wrong but, do I really give a fuck?

No. It's not hurting Tobias since he could care less about Tris, nor is it hurting me. It's doing the exact opposite of that honestly, if ya know what I mean. "Same time tomorrow yeah?" She says, gathering her things. I stop her, "Hey slow ya roll, I'm not finished with you yet." I say, and I pull her close.

I run my hand through her short little pixie cut, and I place my lips onto hers. Just then, 'knock, knock, knock.' Could be heard from my apartment door. She pulls away, "Yes, you are. Someone's at your door, and I think I know exactly who it is." She says, and goes to answer it. I assume who it is and I try to stop her but, "Heyyyy Tobias," Is what she says when opening the door, and I watch my bestfriend look at her and then at me crazy. Tris quickly exits the threshold and goes around Tobias, "Don't mind me. I was just leaving." She adds and Four scoffs as she slowly walks away, "Four, my name is Four when it comes to you." He corrects her, quite irritably.

"Mhm sure, well, I'll see you around Tobias. And I'll see you tomorrow." She says, giving me a wink. I wink back, and I let Tobias in before closing the door. "So you're just gonna ignore my advice huh? Why are you still associated with that nut-case?" He asks me, and I give him a shrug. "I'm just gonna be real with you, pussy is pussy man. I'm not gonna turn down a pretty female, no matter if said female is only in it because I look like the man she's in love with." I explain, just as I was thinking in my head before he knocked on my door. "Don't you think that's at least a little creepy? She's literally imagining me when you're fucking her, you get that right?" He asks me, obviously creeped out himself.

"I mean, when you say it out loud, yes, it's gets a little creepy. But think about it this way, you're doing me the ultimate favor. You're getting me laid man. That's like, the best thing a guy could do for his best mate don't you think? Like right now, if you weren't whipped, I'd be an excellent wingman for you." I respond, and Tobias shakes his head, but I can tell he realized what I said. "Oh, so you think I'm whipped hm?" He asks me with raised eyebrows. I can't stop myself from laughing so, I just let it all out. "My man, you're the very epitome of whipped. That girl has you wrapped and double knotted around her finger and you guys haven't even screwed yet! It's honestly not a bad thing though, it just means you're in love. You've found your wife." I explain, pausing a bit, "See now me though? I have not. And I don't think I want too." I admit, and he tilts his head at me. "So, you would rather meaninglessly sleep with all kinds of woman, than sleep next to and have feelings for one every night?" He asks me, and I nod unhesitatingly.

Dating is just not for me man, I've tried it, and just like my best mate here, I got cheated on. I was done after that. "Okay first off, ew. Second off, I'm getting you a jumbo sized box of rubbers for your birthday. I'd rather not have you die of aids or gonorrhea or something." He says, and we both start laughing. "Alright, this year, ima do the same for you. Cuz uh, I don't think I'm ready to be a god-father yet." I respond, patting him on the shoulder. "See? This right here makes me question how two very different people became best-mates." He says, "No gay shit but, opposites attract bro." I tell him, and I made him laugh.

"I'm sorry but that was all gay, let's continue this convo back at my new place though, hurry and go get a shirt on." He tells me. "A button up preferably, you're meeting my mother and sister, along with my girlfriend and her family." He adds, and I run to my closet and I jump in the air once, clicking my ankles together. They're all gonna love me, since y'know, I'm a very lovable person. Or, at least I think I am.

Me and Tobias walk all the way across Dauntless to the A corridor. Where all the boujee fucking apartments in Dauntless are. The numbers start counting down. 'A5' 'A4' 'A3' 'A2' and finally, he stops in front of apartment 'A1' and I notice all the good shit his door has that mine doesn't. He opens and steps inside, and I follow him all the way to this fucking king worthy kitchen.

Meanwhile, my nose was filled with this absolutely amazing smell. "Now, what on earth is that delicious smell?" I couldn't help but exclaim aloud. Tobias knocks on the counter twice to get these two brunette females to turn around, "Alexander, I'd like you to meet my mother, Evelyn, and my girlfriend, Natalie. Mother, Natalie, this is my bestfriend." He introduces me, and I gently shake hands with his mother first. "Please call me Alex, it is very nice to meet you Evelyn," I simply say, "Likewise Alex, and to answer your question from before, that smell is my homemade stew." She responds, very kindly. "Homemade? Well then, I just simply can not wait to dig in." I tell her, and she turns back to stir the big pot.

I look over and I spot her approaching, "And you, it is so nice to finally meet you. I've heard a lot about you from lover-boy over there." I say, and instead of shaking her hand, I take it, turn it, and kiss her knuckles. Her soft hand smelled like vanilla and cinnamon. Literally my two favorite scents. "Oh and also, let me apologize for taking you down with me that one day, when Mr. show off here kicked me down. I would've helped you up and introduced myself then but, I was too busy writhing in pain." I apologize and explain, straightening up, receiving a sharp shock in my side from Tobias. I hiss a bit, but I take it like a champ to avoid any questioning.

"Oh no worries, Tobias actually was the one who helped me up. And it's nice to meet you too, I was honestly wondering when I'd meet his bestfriend." She says, and her voice is soft and sweet. It nearly gives me goose bumps. "And also, are you sure you two aren't brothers or something? Cuz I feel like I'm starting to see double." She mentions, and I laugh. I'm almost one hundred percent sure that Tobias isn't my brother. My mother's name is Jaclyn Monsay.

And my dad well, as my mother tells me, is a piece of shit. He got her pregnant a little bit before their year of choosing, and promised her he'd transfer with her, to whatever faction she chose. But, turns out, my mother choose Dauntless and my dad, either stayed behind or left to whatever faction he's currently in right now. She hates that man so much, she won't even tell me what faction the fuckers in, nor will she give me his name. Speaking of which, I'm twenty-two, and even though he's a dirt bag, it's getting kinda sad that I don't at least know the name of my father.

I'll head over to my moms after this, "As much as I hate to admit it, no, we're not brothers. Not by blood at least." I say, patting Tobias on the shoulder before heading over next to his mother. "And uh, don't get me wrong, I think my own mother is gorgeous, but I'd love to have a mother as beautiful as yours. I can see her lovely hazel eyes skipped you Tobias." I compliment his mother, and I make her giggle and blush. "Why thank you, I love him already son." His mother responds, stirring the pot once more while adding some herbs and spices. Just then, two tall guys that looked nearly my age walked into the kitchen. Natalie then locks arms with both and brings them over, "Alex, meet my triplet brother's, Miles and Liam. Brother's of mine, meet Tobias's bestfriend Alex." She introduces, and I shake both of their hands.

"Woah, it's like Natalie's wet dream, two Tobias's." Miles comments, and I laugh. Natalie elbows her brother in the side, while Tobias shakes his head. Suddenly though, Liam gasps a bit and blinks his eyes rapidly for a second. He then looks between both me and Tobias, as if he saw a ghost. "Y'all could literally pass as brother's." He says, and I laugh and look between both him and his own brother.

"I could say the same for both of you. Oh wait..." I joke, making them laugh. Just then, I feel a tap on my shoulder. I turn, and I look down at a smiling Lauren. "Lauren!" - "Alex!" We both shout and she gives me a great big hug. I hug her back, and she smelt like flowers.

We release, "Thanks for uh, I don't know, stopping by my apartment and saying hi once in a while." She says sarcastically, punching me. "I'm sorry, please forgive me, I've been uh," I say, having Tris fill my mind, "Busy, in a sense." I add, scratching my head with a smile. She looks down at my neck, "yeah, busy with a female, look at these hickeys y'all. What happened to bro's before hoes?" She asks, and I shake my head. Lauren's still Lauren alright. Just then though, the most adorable little girl runs into the kitchen and clings to Tobias, hiding behind his legs a little while staring up at me.

She yanks his sleeve, "Brober why is there another one of you?" She asks, and I can't help but poke my bottom lip out at how cute she is. She made her brother laugh, and he squats down and pulls her in front of him. I squat down too, "Alex, I'd like you to meet Melody, my little sister. Mellie, this is my bestfriend, Alex." He introduces us, and I shake her little hand. "Hi cutie, it's nice to meet you. I look a lot like your brother, don't I?" I ask, and she looks over at Tobias's face, and then back at mine. She nods, "Mhm," she simply says, "So does that mean you're my brober too?" She eventually asks, and I smile. "No but," I pause, "I wish I was pumpkin."

~Third Person~

That day, Alex had an amazing dinner with his bestfriends family and friends. He thanks his mother and girlfriend for the meal, given they were the main chefs. He said goodbye to everyone, and Tobias walks him out, while doing their little handshake. Alex then heads out of the A corrdior, and all the way across Dauntless, to the J corridor. He stops in front of the apartment 'J8' and pulls out a copy of his mothers apartment key.

He knocks, unlocks, and opens the door, just so he doesn't startle his mother. "Son is that you?" She questions from her kitchen, "Of course it's me mother, I'm the only one who has a key." He responds, walking into the kitchen. He pecks her on the cheek while she scrubbed a dish, "You just saw me yesterday love, what's this visit for?" She asks him, and he rolls up his sleeves and starts helping her with her dishes. "I've been thinking about something, and you're not gonna like it." He starts, and she turns the faucet off and turns to him, wiping her hands on her apron. "No." She says, putting her hands on her hips.

He looks into her big blue eyes and he recognizes the look. "Mother, I am twenty-two years old, and as much as I love and appreciate that you want to protect me, I am a grown man that doesn't even know his own fathers name. I know he was shit, but he's part of the reason why I'm here. It's gettin' pretty sad." He says, as she stands idle, holding a soapy plate halfway into the sink. "Alexander, no." - "Come on, I just had to tell like several different new people that I don't even know the name of my father, since they asked about you and him." He tells her, and she turns on the faucet, and goes back to scrubbing. "Good, cuz they only need to know my name, not his. He's not the one who raised and took care of you. I am." She says, upset at him

"I'm simply asking for his name, I know who raised me, and I know who took care of me mother. And I'm unbelievably grateful for you woman, trust me. But I can't go another day without knowing at least his government name." He argues, noticing his mother was backing away from the sink. She tries to exit the kitchen and he blocks her path, and they lock eyes. Hers were starting to tear up, and his were stone cold. "Mother, why can't you tell me?" He asks, and she shakes her head. "It's not that I can't, it's that I honestly don't want to. He's a lowlife, selfish, apparently abusive prick that doesn't deserve to know his other son! And if I tell you his name you'll track him down, and that's exactly, what I don't want." She yells, and Alex takes a step back.

~Alexander's POV~

"Other son?" I question, "I have a brother?" I question again. "Oh well, now you have to tell me. You won't leave this kitchen until you do." I add, blocking the kitchens exit all together. She runs her hands through her hair and huffs, while pacing. "Mother, tell me." - "No!" - "Tell me!" I raise my voice, and given I've never raised my voice at my mother, it felt strange, and undoubtably wrong. But I deserve to know, and if I have to startle her a bit, so be it.

"Fine." She finally gives up, and clears her throat. "Your father is a man, who's in a government position he doesn't deserve to be in. Your father's a man who lies, breaks promises, and apparently cheats on his own wife a year after they got hitched and had a baby. Your godforsaken father, made me something I never wanted to be. A damn mistress. Your father," She trails off taking a deep breath. "Is Marcus Eaton." She tells me, and my heart falls. Marcus Eaton. So many emotions run through me at once, happiness, shock, hatred, sadness and so many more.

Tobias is my brother. He's my actual brother. And that little girl? That's my baby sister. Joy and excitement rushes through my bloodstream at the fact my best-friend is biologically related to me, along with his sister.

Our sister. But that excitement and joy fights the added rage that I now have for the man that's my father. He tricked my mother, and let her leave abnegation while pregnant with me, so he could choose his first family over us. He choose to stay and abuse Tobias, and most likely his mother too. I wonder what life would've been like if he just would've left with my mother.

Would he have beaten me and my mother too? Or would he have been a different man? I started backing out of the kitchen but I stop when I spot something familiar around my mother's neck. Her heart-shape locket, it's the same as Tobias's mother's. And I bet ten to one that his mother has pictures of both him and his sister in it, just as my mother has pictures of me in hers.

That bastard gave the same gifts to both Evelyn and my mother. "I know that look, what're about to do son?" She asks me, and I point at her necklace. "My best friend is my half brother, which would mean his sister is my sister too. I have siblings that don't even know I'm their brother so, I'm going straight to them and I'm going to need your locket." I simply say, and she asks why. "Evelyn, Tobias's mother, has the same one. And it's the only proof I have to show him that we're family. Unless of course you want to come with me, and meet my brother's mother." I suggest, and as expected, she proceeds to unclip the necklace. "I'm pretty sure she doesn't even know she was cheated on so, I don't think me coming with is going to help, even after all these years." She says, and hands me her locket.

I kiss her on the cheek, and give her the biggest hug. "Why aren't you upset with me?" She asks, and I smile. "I could never be upset with you, especially not over this. I'll be back." I say, squeezing her hand a bit before releasing and literally sprinting across Dauntless with her locket in my fist. I take the shortcut through the pit, and people step or jump out of the way. I make it into the A corridor, and I stop in front of apartment 'A1' and try to catch my breath before pressing the doorbell.

But before my finger made contact, it opens up, and non other than my brother himself steps out. "Alex? What're you doing here? I thought you went to your mother's to ask her about your dad?" He asks, and I take a couple more seconds to breathe. "Oh trust me, I did, and you seriously won't believe what she told me man." I say, and I hold up my mother's locket. He furrows his eyebrows and takes it to see what's on the inside. He sees its my baby picture and looks back up at me, "Tobias, we look alike for a reason. We're bestfriends for reason. Your mother, and my mother have the same locket for a reason." I say, and the more I talk, the more his eyes widen.

"We really are brothers, because Marcus Eaton is apparently my father too." I tell him, awaiting his reaction. He looks down at the locket and sorta laugh-scoffs, "Let me guess, a year after I was born, he cheated on my mother with yours, and she turned out to be pregnant with you when he tricked her into thinking he'd go with her to Dauntless?" He guesses, oldly spot on. "That's weirdly very accurate, how'd you know?" I ask him, "Because, I know that's exactly something he'd do. I know that man all too well." He responds, and I shake my head. "And I don't know the man at all. He doesn't even know I exist." I say, and Tobias shakes his head. "Trust me when I say you don't want him to know you exist. But enough about him man, you're my fucking brother for godsakes, bring it in!" He says, and we bear hug eachother.

I can't believe, for all these years, I've had a brother and just a few years recently, a sister too. I wouldn't want any other people to be my family, especially when it comes to Tobias. This guy has been there for me through many things, including the one and only relationship I had and got cheated on in. He was there after she left and I'm very grateful, because if it weren't for him and my mother, I don't think I'd still be here. Yes, I was so in love, I stupidly became suicidal over the fact she slept with another guy after three years.

I know, stupid. But I eventually realized there are plenty of females that want a piece of this. But yeah, he walked in on me about to actually do it, and he stopped me without any hesistation. Who would've known it was my brother stopping me, "Again, no gay shit but, I love you bro." I say, and I made him laugh. "I love you too man. Now let's go re-introduce you to our family."
