Chapter 40

Epilogue

Skinny Dipping At Dusk

Hey everyone, now you can all have a taste of what it was like in Europe with the love birds! This is unedited, but I hope this makes some of you happy!

I watched off the small balcony to our little town house as people bustled along on the streets below. The weather was especially nice for London, so today I would most likely be outside a lot. The balcony door behind me slipped open and Landon stepped outside.

He was wearing a red checkered pair of pajama pants, and thankfully no shirt. His golden skin shinned in the sun as I took in his messy hair and vibrant green eyes. “Good morning sexy,” I said as he leaned down and placed a gentle kiss on my lips.

He pulled away and smiled. “Good morning beautiful,” he replied.

Landon pulled me up from the balcony chair and sat down with me on his lap. I nestled myself comfortably between his arms and laid my head back onto his chest.

“So, what’s on the agenda for today?” I asked, running through my options.

“I was thinking a nice walk through the park, and then our favorite candy shop,” he immediately said, as if he already had everything planned out.

For some reason, I thought back to our travels through Italy and Spain. They were probably my favorite places we had managed to visit this summer, and I definitely wouldn’t mind spending a day like this there.

“Do you think Cole will be okay with that?” I asked.

Landon chuckled. “I didn’t think Cole was a part of the equation.”

I smiled at the thought of going with just Landon, but I knew not inviting Cole wouldn’t be fair. Even though he was very upset with my choice of friend, he somehow managed to somewhat get along with Landon since we had left the states.

They weren’t friends, and they definitely didn’t like spending time with each other, but they both had a common interest; me. As much as I still loved Cole, as a friend, he had done quite a good job trying to stir me and Landon’s relationship up in the beginning. But even through his efforts, we managed to stay very close.

“Well we could still ask him, and see if whatever her name wants to come. What as it…Janet or something like that?”

Cole had taken it in his interest to bring a different girl home with him every night we went out to the bars. Since we were all eighteen, we were all able to drink. I didn’t know if Cole was just going through a stage, or if he was trying to make me jealous, but either way I didn’t really care.

I did have to thank him for a lot of things though. He was the one who was paying for the cute little townhouse we had become very comfortable with, it was his fault me and Landon were spending our summer in Europe, and that meant a lot to me.

“Let me go ask him, get ready,” I said before kissing Landon on the cheek and getting up.

I opened the balcony door and let myself into the small sitting room. The sound of dishes clanking together brought be towards the kitchen where I found Cole sitting in his boxers attacking a bowl of scrambled eggs.

“Morning,” I said as he turned his head to look at me. “Where’s Janet?” I asked hoping I got her name right.

Cole laughed. “I led Josie out an hour ago.”

“Well Landon and I were thinking about going for a walk in the park, it’s really nice out today. I was thinking that you could invite Josie and come with?”

I was hoping for some reason that Cole had somehow managed to bond with this girl at least a little, so that maybe he would be able to move on, but his facial expression didn’t convince me.

“Yeah Josie was a fun night, but that’s all,” he admitted taking another bite of his cereal. “I’ll stay in today.”

Rolling my eyes, I turned around and headed for the French doors leading to me and Landon’s bedroom. When I entered the room, Landon was stepping out of the bathroom in just a towel. I smiled at the sight.

“You should just go like that,” I joked sitting down on the bed, my eyes still trained on Landon’s dripping wet torso.

He laughed. “Then you have to go in a towel too.”

Giggling I lied back down on the bed and waited for him to get changed. Soon enough, he was in a clean shirt and dark blue jeans. The scent of his shampoo filled my nose as he sat down on the bed next to me and pulled me in to his chest.

His hair was still a little damp, and a few droplets fell down onto my face. He leaned in and softly placed his lips against mine. The same electrifying feeling when we always kissed filled my body, and when he pulled away my lips were tingling.

“Maybe we should just stay in,” I said thinking about lying in bed with him all day.

Landon shook his head. “Nope we’re going out; now get your sexy ass into something nice, like one of your sundresses.”

Laughing, I pulled away from Landon and made my way over to the closet. After rummaging through my many dresses, I picked out a vibrant yellow one and changed quickly. After checking myself in the mirror, I made my way to the kitchen where I found Landon leaning against the fridge, and Cole doing something on his phone.

And of course there was no talking going on between the two. Rolling my eyes, I pulled on Landon’s arm and he followed me to the door.

“See you later Cole, and if you want to join us we’ll be at the park,” I called over my shoulder.

“As if I’d want to join the love birds,” he mumbled just as I shut the door.

Both Landon and I had to refrain from laughing as we made our way towards the stairs. I liked that we had a balcony on our level, but that also meant walking up four flights of stairs every time we left the townhouse.

Finally, we made our way to the bottom and Landon pushed open the front doors. The warm summer air greeted us, and I couldn’t help but sigh in satisfaction. It was an amazing day out, well at least for weather in London.

“I wish every day was like this,” I admitted, looking up into the sunny sky with a smile.

Landon laughed. “Really, I wish every day was rainy,” he teased, hooking his arm around mine.

“No need to be a smartass!”

Landon chuckled as we made our way across the coble stone street towards the park. It literally took one minute to reach the lovely greenery space, and once we were there, I took off my sandals and let my toes squish against the cool grass.

After walking to our normal picnic spot, Landon laid out a blanket and we both lied on our backs and admired the blue cloudless sky.

“What did you think when you first saw me?” I asked intertwining my fingers with his.

“I thought that with you in the picture, summer would be a whole lot better,” he admitted thinking back to the day we first saw each other.

I smiled. “And was it?”

“To some degree,” he joked.

Gasping in shock, I rolled over on top of Landon. I grabbed his arms and held them on the ground, even though I knew it would take him a second to overpower me. The smile on his face told me he was kidding, but I already knew even before glancing at his handsome features.

Smiling, I leaned down and pressed a slow, open mouthed kiss against his lips. His fingers laced through my long auburn hair as I brought my hands up and braced them by the side of his head. As much as I wanted the kiss to become even more heated, I allowed myself to cool down because I knew we were in public. Smiling against his mouth, I slightly pulled away before leaving a trail of small, teasing kisses along his jaw and down his neck.

“You make me crazy,” he whispered, his voice almost hoarse.

“And you make me do crazy things,” I replied lying my head against his chest.

He laughed. “Remember that time I got you to go skinny dipping…”
