Chapter 34
Just One Night
âGood morning, beautiful,â Ace said as he climbed on top of her. The moment he started kissing her neck, he felt his manhood getting hard. And when her arms went around him and she ran her leg up and down his, he took that as a sign she wanted him to make love to her. So thatâs what he did, not once, but twice.
She lay in his arms, admiring her engagement ring. âThis ring is so beautiful, and just wait until everyone sees it. My dad is going to be so happy to hear that we are getting married.â
His fingers intertwined with hers. âYes, now your father will stop with the hints. But of course, knowing John, heâs going to want to know when weâre getting married. Which, come to think of it, we should discuss a date.â
She smiled sweetly at him. âHow do you feel about a church wedding with just family and a few friends?â
âThe first time I got married, it was just at the courthouse. So this time, I want to do it right. I want you to have the wedding youâve always dreamed of. Now letâs set a date, how about a month from now?â
âA month? Itâs going to take longer than that to arrange a wedding. First, we have to book a church, I need to get a dress, and ask Eve if sheâll be my matron of honor. This is just a thought, what about if you ask Brett to be your best man? Itâs up to you though.â
âI was already planning on asking him.â
âHow about we plan our wedding for six months from now?â She was hoping heâd say yes, even though she knew he wanted it to be sooner.
âThatâs so far away, but if thatâs what you want, then I say yes.â
She climbed on top of him. âThank you, and I will start planning it right away. But I think we better go home now. I miss my baby so much, and Iâm sure you do too.â She was also super excited to show Eve her engagement ring.
âYes, I am, but first letâs take a shower together,â he said, wiggling his eyebrows at her. He was looking forward to some shower sex before going home. After the shower, he handed her a small box. âI was going to give this to you last night, but something came up,â he said, pointing to his manhood.
âWhat is it?â
âItâs your Valentineâs gift.â
âBut you already gave me one, this ring,â she said, holding up her finger.
âAn engagement ring shouldnât be given as a gift, that should be separate. Now open it.â
She stared at the diamond tennis bracelet. âOmg, this is so beautiful, I love it.â
âIâm glad you love it, you deserve so much more, and I love you.â
When they arrived home, they hurried inside to see Adrian. They were all in the living room with Brett feeding the baby with the breast milk she had prepared before she and Ace went on their date.
Rosalee reached for her baby; she had missed him so much and felt tears coming to her eyes. She looked up at Eve and Brett. âThank you so much for taking great care of my baby.â
Eve smiled. âIt was our pleasure, we loved doing it.â
Rosalee finished feeding Adrian, and after burping him, Ace took him to change his diaper. She loved watching father and son together; he was so good with the baby.
âHey Ace, have you ever tasted this breast milk?â Brett asked, handing him a clean diaper.
He looked at the younger man and made a face. âOh my God, no. Please tell me you didnât drink any of it.â
âEve dared me to do it. I have to tell you, bro, itâs not that bad. It actually has a sweet taste to it, and you should try it.â
âI donât think so.â
Rosalee and Eve were listening, and they could see the humor in it.
âGo on Ace, try it,â both women said at the same time.
âNo thank you, Iâll pass.â
âAre you chicken? Go on, I dare you,â Brett said and handed him the bottle that still had a little bit in it.
âIâm not chicken,â he said and looked over at Rosalee. When he saw the amused look on her face, he shrugged his shoulders. âOkay, Iâll try it.â After handing the baby over to Brett, he took the bottle and stared at it for a minute. He really wasnât too happy about doing this, but he wasnât about to let Brett or the women call him chicken. He made a face and squirted some of the milk into his mouth and swallowed.
âSo what do you think?â Brett asked with a smirk on his face.
âActually, itâs not that bad, and like you said, itâs a little on the sweet side.â When he saw the others snickering, he knew he had been tricked. Turning to Brett, he shook his head. âYou jerk, you never tried it, did you?â
âHell no, man, and I canât believe you fell for it.â
They all had a good laugh over that, but now it was time to let the other couple in on their surprise.
Rosalee deliberately held up her left hand to her cheek so that the others could finally notice the ring on her finger. Eve was the first one to see it, and she let out a loud squeal and ran over and grabbed Rosaleeâs hand.
âOh my God, is this what I think it is?â
âYes, it is. Ace proposed to me over dinner at the restaurant.â
Brett went over and gave her a hug, and then he turned to Ace and shook his hand. âCongratulations, and itâs about damn time.â
Ace looked over at Rosalee and saw how happy she was as she showed off her ring. âI never thought Iâd ever want to get married again, but I was wrong about marriage, and I should have asked her a long time ago.â
âSo when is the big day going to be, and are you having a traditional wedding or just getting married at the courthouse like Brett and I did?â
Ace left the talking to her while he cradled his son in his arms, watching him sleep so peacefully. His life had never been this full; he had a thriving business, money, and a family that he loved and adored.
âItâs going to be a church wedding, and I want you to be my matron of honor, and Iâm pretty sure Ace is going to ask Brett to be his best man.â
Brett looked over at Ace. âBro, I would be honored to be your best man. So when is the wedding going to take place?â
âIn six months from now, so Iâm going to need you to help me pick out the perfect dress,â she said, looking at Eve.
âI would love to, and I know the perfect place to go. I can also help you with the wedding plans if you want?â
Rosalee was beaming with happiness. âNow I have to call my father and Mary and let them know. He is going to be so super excited.â
Later that night, after Eve and Brett left and Adrian was put to bed, she called her father to tell him the good news.
âHi dad, I hope I didnât wake you.â
~Not at all, sweetheart, you can call me any time of the day or night. Is everything okay? If that man isnât treating you right and he hurt you, Iâll come right there and beat the crap out of him.~
âNo, dad, heâs wonderful and Adrian is growing like a little weed, but I have something to ask you.â
~What is it?~
âWhat are you doing the second week of August?â
~Nothing, just the same as usual. Why are you asking?~
âI was hoping that you and Mary would come here because Ace and I are getting married, and I want you to give me away.â She had to hold the phone away from her ear when he shouted out to Mary that Ace finally asked her to marry him.
~Of course, we will be there, sweetheart, and I am so happy he finally is doing the right thing.~
âHeâs not doing it because he feels itâs the right thing to do. Heâs doing it because he loves me and realizes that what happened to him before wonât happen again.â
After giving her father all the details about the wedding and talking to Mary, who said she would be happy to watch Adrian while they went away on their honeymoon.
Ace was bottle-feeding the baby in the big overstuffed chair that they had in their bedroom for such an occasion. âI take it your father is happy about us getting married.â
She looked over and smiled at him as he burped the baby. It still amazed her how wonderful he was with Adrian. âHe and Mary are delighted, and they volunteered to watch the baby while we go on our honeymoon. Oh, that is if weâre going on a honeymoon.â
He smiled back at her. âI told you I wanted to do everything right this time, and that includes a honeymoon. You just have to tell me where youâd like to go, and Iâll book it.â
âWait, what about your business?â
âNigel can take care of things, heâs already doing a lot of the work. With Bonnie having taken over your position, Iâm sure she wonât mind continuing it until you get back to work.â
âYou really think of everything, donât you?â
âWell, my darling, you are going to be marrying a very smart man. Now, why donât you take off your clothes, get into bed, and wait for me to come back from putting Adrian in his room.â
She removed her top and bra and smiled wickedly at him. âDonât take too long or I just might have to start without you.â
His cock got hard when he saw her naked from the waist up. âDonât worry, Iâll be back in a flash.â After putting his son to bed and giving him a kiss on the cheek, he hurried back to the bedroom. Seeing her lying on top of the covers naked, he quickly removed his own clothes and jumped into bed and on top of her. He never knew when Adrian was going to wake up and interrupt them, so he didnât want to waste a moment.
Over the next few weeks, Rosalee and Eve started the wedding plans and at night she would go over them with Ace. If there was something he wanted or didnât want, she would make the changes. Then she had to go shopping for a wedding dress. They went to several dress shops before finding the one she wanted. The church was booked, as was the banquet hall. The invitations were sent out and flowers ordered. It wasnât going to be a big wedding, just their family and a few of their closest friends, and of course the employees from their office. Which brought the total to just under one hundred guests.
Ace booked a ten-day stay at a beautiful resort in Bora Bora.
When Adrian was born, everyone that worked at the office sent her a beautiful bouquet of flowers and several gifts for the baby. They all liked the change in Ace; he was a much kinder and friendlier boss. Where once he wouldnât even acknowledge them, he now always said good morning and good evening at the end of the day. He was indeed a happy man who was deeply in love.
Rosaleeâs parents arrived five days prior to the wedding. Yes, she considered Mary a mother. Ace made a point of telling Brett that he did not want a bachelor party because he knew it would involve strippers. He had been to too many parties where there were strippers, and it always caused trouble. There was no way he was going to let anything interfere with his and Rosaleeâs love and trust. So instead, they decided to throw what they called an engagement party at their home.
It was a fun-filled nightâdancing, drinking, and a lot of kidding around. The only bad thing about that night was when one of the women who was there got drunk and started flirting with Ace.
He had gone into the house to get something from the kitchen when a woman followed him in. There was no one else inside when she approached him.
âJust think that in three days you are going to be a married man.â She had walked up to him and ran her fingers down his chest.
He quickly removed her fingers. âMaddie, youâre drunk, and I think I should call you a taxi to take you home.â
âI was just thinking that since everyone is busy outside, maybe I could give you one last fling before you get married.â She started undoing the buttons on his shirt, only to get pushed away.
âI am not interested in sleeping with anyone else but the woman Iâm going to marry. I suggest you stop this nonsense because if Rosalee finds out what youâre up to, you may end up going home with a bloody nose.â
âShe wouldnât have to know, it can be our little secret. Ever since you helped my father get that property, Iâve had my eye on you. Iâve been wanting you to fuck me since then, but you would never give me the time of day.â
âI still wonât.â
They both looked over to the door when it opened and Rosalee came in.
âIs there a problem?â she asked, giving Maddie a dirty look. She wasnât a fool; she had noticed how the woman was staring at Ace all night. When she saw her following him inside the house, she decided to see what the woman was up to. From the window, she could see the woman coming on to him and was so happy when he pushed her away.
Ace moved away from Maddie and over to her. âThereâs no problem, I was just about to call a taxi for her.â
âThatâs okay, sweetheart. Iâll do it. You just go on out and enjoy the rest of the evening.â
Maddie started to fidget. âYeah, it is getting a little late, so I should go home. Iâve had a lovely evening, and congratulations on your upcoming marriage.â
Rosalee walked right up to her and stared her straight in the eyes. âI know you were coming on to him, so let me warn you.â
âWarn me about what?â
âThat if you pull a stunt like this again, I will rearrange your face. I know that you just got a nose job, it would be a shame to have to get another one so soon. Now I will walk you to the front door where you will wait for your taxi to arrive.â
When they got to the front door and before closing it, she stared at Maddie with anger. âStay away from my man,â she said before slamming the door on her.
Ace was standing in the hallway, watching and listening. When she turned around and saw him, he walked up to her. âI hope you know I did not encourage that woman.â
She put her arms around his neck. âI know that, I saw her coming on to you and the way you pushed her away. I trust you, and I always will.â
âGod woman, I love you so much and canât wait for you to be my wife,â he said as he pulled her in for a kiss.
