Ugh!

Nagising ako ng naramdaman kong may humawak sa akin, slowly caressing me

I opened my eyes slowly

and to my surprised

I saw Joan on top of me, looking at me....

My breath hitched

And it became heavy

My heart is thumping rapidly

Then she did the unspeakable

she cupped my bosoms.

"Sabrina wake up"

Sabrina buried her face deeper into the pillow at mas lalong nagtalukbong ng kumot, she groaned

"Sabrina, hey"

The girl stretches as she slowly opened her eyes

"o-ouch" agad niyang hinawakan ang kumikirot niyang ulo

"Jo?" She said, voice raspy

"It's Shiloh" the other girl can't help but roll her eyes "come on, get up, let's eat breakfast"

The girl on the bed bit her lip, eyes pressed tightly feeling the disagreeable effects of consuming alcohol

"and will you stop that?"

"What?" Sabrina answered irritably

"ang kamay mo, gosh" Shiloh left her then shut the door closed

Sabrina looked at where her other hand is, and to her surprised it's on her bosom

panaginip....ugh! she hissed to herself

"Tangina, this sucks" Sabrina said while massaging her temple

Shiloh shook her head "here, drink this." inabot ni Shiloh ang isang basong juice

"Juice?"

"magrereklamo ka pa?"

"Thanks" she said sarcastically but carried on drinking

"What happened last night? at nasaan sila?"

"We went home at 10 PM, you remember accompanying Jo home right?, then the Ate's went home together din, and Gia also escorted me here...and as for you, you didn't asked tita, kaya naman I had to lie to her kagabi, kainis ka, buti nalang mabuti akong kaibigan"

"argh" she groaned feeling a sharp pain on her head "thank you, shi and I'm sorry. Hindi ko naman alam na iinom tayo eh. Anyway, where's tita and tito pala?"

"They're on a 3 day business trip, I'm thinking of letting the girls spend the night here"

"where are you getting the energy? parang ako lang may hangover ah"

"pss, basic"

"you don't drink"

"I do, and I'm better than you and Jo combined"

"Well" Sabrina smiled as she remembers Jo "Can I use your shower ba?"

Shiloh was about to bite her apple for the second time nang biglang itinanong iyun ng kaibigan "sure.."

"You're leaving already?"

Sabrina nodded "I borrowed your clothes pala" sabi niya habang nagmamadaling magsuklay

"Is tita looking for you? I told her na you'd spend the day here"

"Well that's good!"

"What the heck?"

"I mean, thanks for saving me the effort of doing so and if you're planning to invite the girls tonight tell me right away, I need to do something pa eh"

"Where are you going ba Sabrina?"

Shiloh didn't hear a reply nang patakbo siyang dinaanan nito "seriously?"

She heard their gate opening at bago paman ito maisara ay nagpasalamat muna ang kaibigan sa kaniya

"Thank you Shi, I'll be back later!"

Shiloh shook her head "crazy"

"Jo"

"Hm?"

"Jo wake up"

"argh"

"Tatawagin ko si Tita"

"Nooooo!"

"babangon ka or I'll drag you sa kusina at gawing basahan"

"Fine, a—argh! ouch, shit" umupo si Joan habang hawak ang ulo at dahan dahang minasahe ito "this is killing me, I'll never drink again"

"Heard that a thousand times. Come on, hurry"

"Hay" napabuntong hininga na lamang ito at sumunod kay Gia

Jo sat at the table near the counter top, watching Gia do her thing.

"I can't remember anything last night"

"If I were you, I'd be happy not to"

"Come on Giaaa"

"Stop with the whining, Sabrina took care of you last night you should call her"

"A-Ano?" Joan facepalms herself  "nakakahiya"

"Sana naisip mo 'yan before you started drinking"

She groaned out of frustration "but I don't wanna miss out"

Gia gave the other girl the attention that's supposed to be given to the eggs she's been cooking "hay, you didn't do anything naman na very....damaging"

"What do you mean by that G?"

"I mean, you were a bit of a bitch calling out Ate Geo and Ate Maya because they were kissing while trying to confirm their relationship, also, you mentioned two other girls from other room basta may buhok na pula— you then sang a song, which is obviously not singing, good thing Sabrina was there to the rescue, and you freaking burped at me which is totally disgusting....you then told Sabrina on a microphone, that you missed her.."

Jo's eyes widen "wait what?"

"Yes you did, drunk"

She's still trying to digest everything "what the fu—"

"Then you fell asleep, nagising ka ulit at nang-agaw ng inumin, then you bawled talking about the good dinosaur and how you can't fucking see a thing without your glasses tapos you pull Sabrina closed to you, stared at her creepily at sinabing 'ang ganda ng mga mata mo, are you single?"

"NO!" Tumayo si Joan sa pagkakaupo as she recoil in distaste of her drunken behavior...

not admitting the fact that her sober self is dying to ask that

"Yes, Joan, and I don't know what happened after, basta hinatid ka ni Sabrina dito sa bahay while I was with Shiloh, and you'll never know what worse things you did during the time you were riding the cab....kaya naman you owe the alcohol for saving you that humiliation"

After hearing Gia say that, wala nang iba pang inisip si Joan kung hindi ang pangyayari ng nagdaang gabi, she's overthinking that if she did the unspeakable, Sab will avoid her and think of her like she's some kind of a creep

"G, what am I gonna do? I can't remember anything? Paano kung...."

"Kung what? Relax, walang mabubuntis sainyo"

"What? No!" She gave Gia a look "umayos ka nga, I'm worried"

"Hay, Oo na. But there's nothing to be afraid of, she knows your drunk, I'm sure she'll let it pass Jo"

"But...." still it's embarrassing

Gia served her with a plate with eggs and bacon and a cup of hot coffee.

"Thank you G, I don't know what to do without you"

"I do. I'd throw you to Sabrina and I know she'll catch you with a big smile on her face"

Joan groaned "you're not helping!"

"Believe me girl, I'm helping you so much you'll thank me later. Anyway, maliligo muna ako and Shiloh invited us for later, she wants us to spend the night sa kanila"

"drinks again?"

Gia smiled "no jo, just Netflix and chill"

"Now, I'm worried"

"Stop exaggerating"

"But are you sure I could come? You don't want to spend the night alone together?"

Nang marinig iyon ay agad nanahimik si Gia, she blushed with the thought of spending a night with Shiloh alone but brushed it off hastily "the Ate's will be there too Joan"

"You didn't really answer my question"

"You'll be hurt If I do, eat your breakfast, good bye" after saying that she got going for a one cold shower to wash off unholy thoughts

"G! Teka!"

"What now?" She said deadpan

"Asan ang pandesal?"

Gia just rolled her eyes.

I'm currently on the grocery store, I bit my lip when I remembered what Jo said last night when I escorted her papuntang bahay nila Gia, my memories are no longer foggy kaya naman here I am, shopping for foods I'd wanna bring for her

"Hey Sabrina, it would be really nice, If I wake up tomorrow, and ...and you'll be with me"

She said that while her eyes were closed and I find it really adorable, she sometimes talks gibberish but everything makes sense to me when it's Jo....

And she might be drunk, but something inside me wanted to believe that she meant what she said.

and that sober or not, Jo always mattered to me.

Kaya naman I'm gonna call Gia, kasi I want to make sure na hindi ako makakabili ng bawal sa kaniya, paano kung may allergies siya?, and maybe I could ask for a hint sa mga favorites ni Jo. Hehe

Pero nakailang dial na ako hindi ko parin siya sumasagot, is she still asleep? impossible, I saw Shiloh texting kanina at ang lapad ng ngiti ng bakla, I know she's texting her kasi sino pa ba may effect sa kaniya ng ganon, siguro enhypen, pero wala siyang ka text mate sa kanila kaya it's obvious

I've decided to send her a voice message instead, I can wait pa naman for an hour or two

"Hey G, good morning. I just wanna ask if may food allergen ba si Jo? hehe just making sure...and if it's okay with you, if you have some time to spare..." I paused and bit my lower lip, this is embarrassing but I really want to know "is it okay if you tell me if ano ba 'yung mga favorites niya? Like, if she has  top 5 favorites...I mean hehe" I tried not to laugh awkwardly but here I am, I look crazy standing here in aisle five like I'm talking to myself "I just want to know, G...erm, thanks!"

I facepalm myself after pressing the send button, "argh"

"Sabrina?" I was about to leave nang biglaan nalang may tumawag sa akin, that voice is familiar

Agad akong lumingon sa kinaroroonan ng boses and to my surprised

It's Jo's mom.

I froze for a moment pero agad akong lumapit kay Tita para mag mano "Good morning po"

She seems surprised to what I did, but I saw her facial expression soften and I subtly sigh with relief.

"I think we have something to talk about"

I gulped. lagot.

"You can order anything you want"

Nandito kami ngayon sa isang resto, gosh, and I looked like this? Semi-pambahay at suklay lang, ni hindi na ako nag make-up, nag lip balm lang ako kanina and all of the days talaga, bakit ngayon pa? Lord, why?

It's not like kay tita ako nagpa-plus points, pero of course I wanna look presentable, it's Jo's mom, for f sake.

"Thank you po" I said shyly

Now we're sitting face to face

"So, how are you and Joan?"

talk about being straightforward.

"Po? Ah, okay naman po kami" I said before sipping the glass of water

"I mean your relationship"

I choked, muntikan ko nang mailuwa ang ininom kong tubig, is this how an attorney asked questions?

She's interrogating me.

"Ahh...erm, we're really good friends po tita" I said shortly, trying not to stutter, trying not to die.

"Really?"

"Y-Yes po, in fact Jo never fails to amazes me.... she's just" I smiled bago nagpatuloy, I looked intently at Tita's eyes "she's one of a kind"

The resto is air-conditioned but damn, I feel so hot and I feel like drinking a pitcher of cold water.

"So you like my daughter."

THAT'S NOT EVEN A QUESTION.

"Ah eh—" I WANT MY LAWYER.

"Excuse me po, here's your order po"

The waitress then left at ganun din ang kaluluwa ko.

It's been a minute but I kept quiet.

"ehem" I fake a cough, I took a deep breath, my hands clenching, dithering what to say next. I looked at her and I can't read her expression, pero nang nagtama ang mga mata namin, I grabbed the chance like it's inevitable, like it's something I'm meant to do, to say  "I'm not sure of anything, of how Jo sees me, ang tanging sigurado lang po ay ang gusto ko ang anak niyo and even if she sees me only as a friend, then I'll be that friend."

There. I said it, finally.

And I laughed with the thought.

Tita didn't say anything after that, she nodded and took a small note then wrote something in it.

We then ate quietly at umalis.

"Here" Biglaan  na lamang siyang may inaabot na maliit na papel saakin

Ito na ba 'yung 1 million layuan mo ang anak ko?

"Don't worry, hindi iyan cheque" she then said nang tinanggap ko ito "you need that."

She was about to leave but I thanked her at agad siyang napatigil "Thank you po!"

"But tita...I just want to know kung bakit hindi kayo nagtanong, kung bakit—"

"Kung bakit gusto mo ang anak ko? When you're both girls?"

"o-opo."

"Whenever I talked with a suspect, that's where I asked questions, but you just liked my daughter, and that doesn't make you a criminal, Sabrina."
