Chapter 98
The Contract Marriage
Chapter 98 DavidâS Blind Date As the two of them speaking, Davidâs phone rang. Sarah looked at him and said, âIâll go out and see my mom first. You can answer.â
âOkay.â David nodded and took out his phone. After Sarah left the room, he pressed the answer button.
âMom, what is it?â The call was from Davidâs mother.
âDavid, I am in the lobby of the hotel. Where are you?â
David immediately stood up. âAre you in Savid Tower?â
âYes. Where did you go? I have something to talk to you about.â
âIâm outside. Mom, what can I do for you?â
âIt is inconvenient on the phone, so you should come back. Iâll wait for you.â Mrs. Brown hung up the phone without waiting for Davidâs reply.
David hesitated for a moment before putting the phone down and walked outside the room. He saw Sarah walking out her motherâs room and walked over.
âSarah, I have to go back to the hotel.â
âOkay, you can go. Donât worry about me.â
âCall me if you need anything.â David walked in front of her and raised his hand to rub her hair.
âYes, I will.â
After getting Sarahâs affirmative answer, David reluctantly left her home. When he arrived downstairs, he subconsciously looked upstairs and saw Sarah standing by the window. He immediately smiled and waved at her. He then opened the car door, sat inside and drove away.
It was at most half an hour later when he reached at Savidâs Tower. David parked the car in the parking lot and entered the hotel.
as soon as he entered he saw his mother was happily chatting with a mother and daughter. He walked over there.
âMom, Iâm back. Why are you looking for me?â
Mrs. Brown saw him back and smiled as she pointed to the chair beside her to sit down. She then pointed to the mother and daughter opposite her and passionately introduced them to her son. âDavid, this is your aunt Abbett and this is Mila.â
After Mrs. Brown finished speaking, Davidâs gaze landed on the mother and daughter pair. He politely greeted them then looked at his mother. âMom, what exactly is the matter? I have some urgent matters to attend outside.â
Ever since he returned to the city, his mother had been trying to find a way to introduce him to a girlfriend. Looking at the situation today, he immediately understood what was going on.
Mrs. Brown glared at him. âThe matter that I am looking for you today is a big matter! You cannot leave!â
After she finished speaking, she immediately smiled and looked at Mrs. Abbett opposite her. âThis is my son. He just came back from another place while ago and moved the hotelâs headquarters back here. He said that he will develop his career here in the future.â
Mrs. Abbett smiled and kept looking at David. He was very handsome and had a good figure and appearance. She was very satisfied with David. But she still maintained a little pride.
âComing back to develop your career is pretty good. Milaâs father knows a lot of people. In the future, if they really going to get married, Milaâs father will definitely help his career rise to a higher level.â
When Mrs. Brown heard this, she immediately bloomed with a smile. âOh my, that would be great.
David had been gone for too long. He didnât know many people here.â
David understood what was going on. He immediately looked at his mother. âMom, I really have something to do today!â
He didnât want to waste time in blind dates.
Mrs. Brown somewhat angrily glared at her son, then looked at Mrs. Abbett and smiled. âMrs. Abbett I have nothing to do today. Why donât we go shopping together? Let the two of them chat a little more.
How about it?â
Mrs. Abbett nodded with a smile. He looked at her daughter. âYou guys can chat. Auntie and I will be leaving first.â
âYou guys have a good chat.â Mrs. Brown did not wait for her sonâs reaction and directly left with the other woman.
In an instant, there were only two people left in the hall. It was not time for lunch yet, so other than David and Mila, the rest were the waiters. David looked at his leaving mother and was somewhat helpless.
âMr. Brown, you donât like me?â Mila was a very straightforward girl. Seeing Davidâs eyes and the way he wanted to leave in a hurry, she knew he might not be interested in her.
David retracted his gaze and looked at her with an apologetic smile. âIâm sorry. I did not know that my mother made such an arrangement today. Although Iâm sorry, I still have to tell you that I have a girlfriend.â
Mila raised her head and blinked a few time. She silently picked up the coffee up and took a sip.
Finally, she looked at David and smiled, âIs that so? Thatâs great. I also have a boyfriend.â
Milaâs answer surprised David. âThatâs great. I still have thing to do, so I have to leave first.â
After saying that, he got up and was about to leave. To him, every minute and second here was waste of his precious time.
Mila quickly grabbed his arm and looked up at him, âArenât you walking too fast? Our problem hasnât been resolved yet. Sit down first.â
Mila was a forthright girl and her words carried a commanding tone.
David looked at his arm that was held by her and gently pushed her away. He looked at her in confusion. âYou have a boyfriend. I have a girlfriend. What else can we do?â
âIf Iâm not wrong, you mom definitely doesnât like your girlfriend, right? Even if we date this time, do you think your mom will stop here?â Mila asked him.
David felt she was somewhat right. After thinking for a moment, he sat down and asked, âThen what do you mean?â
Mila looked at him and smiled. âItâs very simple. I am the same as you. My parents donât like my boyfriend either. Do you think our situation is the same?â
David nodded. âItâs the same. Then what do you have in mind?â
âThe solution is very simple. We will pretend to be successful in our blind date. Iâll your girlfriend and youâll be my boyfriend. Then we will not disturb each other. What do you think of this method?â Mila supported her chin and blinked.
David finally understood what she meant. He stood up and smiled apologetically, âI thought you had a good idea. Now it looks like itâs a waste of time. Sorry, I donât want my girlfriend to misunderstand. I canât stay with you anymore. Goodbye!â
After saying that, he strode out without looking back. He run to his car and drove away.
Sarah and Christianâs agreement only had less than half a monthâs time. After waiting for nine years, he did not want any accidents to happen in such a short period of time. So even if Milaâs method was feasible, he firmly refused.
He didnât want Sarah to have any misunderstand about him.
When David left, Mila looked at his tall back and narrowed her eyes. She watched him walk out and slowly walked to the window. She crossed her arms and smiled as she watched David drove away.
âDavid, we will meet again.â
Mila smiled, took out her phone and quickly called her mother.
After that Sarah would worry about him, David drove his car to a distance then dialed Sarahâs number.
He had liked her for so many years, and he finally got along with her like a couple. He wished that she appear in front of him all the time.
He really liked her.
He liked her cute face, her big eyes. He liked her kind heart. He liked the smile when she saw him.
He liked everything about her.
âMr. David!â As soon as the call connected, Sarahâs sweet voice sounded. Davidâs heart instantly melted.
âSarah, I have settled my matters. What do you want to eat for lunch? I will go to the supermarket to buy some vegetables.â
âNo need. There are still vegetables at home.â
âAlright, then Iâll just buy as I like.â David hung up the phone after saying that.
Sarah heard him hang up and shook her head with a smile.
After David hung up the phone, he drove to a nearby supermarket. He pushed the cart around the supermarket and after a while, the things in the cart were piled up like a small hill. He bought everything he could.
He then put the things in his car and drove to Sarahâs house.
Sarah did not expect him to buy so many things. After a while, a small hill appeared on the floor of the living room. Sarah looked at him speechlessly. âThere is a market around. I can buy fresh vegetables every day. Why did you buy so many things?â
David smiled. He pointed to the beads of sweat on his face and said, âGive a towel.â
Sarah went to the bathroom and a moment later, walked with a clean towel. She extended the towel to him.
When she wanted to take her away, David held her hand tightly. He reached out and pulled her into his arms. He looked at Samanthaâs room and then looked at her.
âSarah, I really want to buy the whole world for you. As long as you have something you want, I want to buy it for you. I want to give you everything.â
