"Wait so... we're assigned to these kids?" Pro hero Present Mic, or Hizashi Yamada, questioned as he and his friend, Shouta Aizawa, walked to the hospital where most of the survivors from the collapse were.

"Yes... thats until we find their families." Aizawa explained once more.

There were heroes who were assigned to some of the surviving kids that did not have any family to alert about them. Some had already had family coming in and claiming them. Of course, there were checking of DNA and documents to be sure they really were their families.

Those who were left were just a hand full of kids and they were assigned to certain heroes.

That included you.

"And what about this thing?" Yamada waved around the paper given by Sir Nighteye.

Aizawa rolled his eyes. "You really didn't listen to the meeting, did you?" He grumbled when his friend sheepishly smiled at him. "That's a copy of the recovered data sheet about the kid you'll watch over."

When they were still trying to rescue survivors, they had also uncovered several files about the people who were used as lab rats. Some were damaged to the point they couldn't be read anymore while some were useless due to the fact that the person was already dead.

Yamada was lucky to have gotten a data sheet about the kid he was gonna watch over.

Aizawa didn't receive any, but was instructed to take a look at the kids who had no families yet and maybe choose one or two to look after.

He wasn't too keen about doing so as keeping kids in his home wasn't something he liked. He was fine with babysitting 20+ kids since he was a teacher, but letting them live under him was something else.

As they entered the hospital, there were rooms crowded with family members happily reuniting with the children and other people who were used by the facility.

Sadly, there were a lot more people on the benches, mourning over a lost love one, a lost someone they ended up meeting again only on their death bed.

Nighteye had stated that his agency as well as the police will be the ones to investigate and interview the survivors as well as other people who may be involved. They'll be the ones to try and understand as to how those victims even got there.

As they headed to the room where the girl Yamada was suppose to watch over, they could hear yells and screams coming from the same direction.

||

"Stay back!"

S.A.25 was woken up by a panicked scream. His steel eyes fluttered open to see a teenaged girl with black and white hair standing on a separate bed, holding something in her hands, looking like a small weapon.

"Wha-"

"Leave me alone! I-I am armed!"

She pointed the small metal objects at the nurses present. S.A.25 quickly got up at the realization that he was in an unfamiliar place. It had ist resemblance of the lab, but it was obviously not the same place.

He watched in fear when the nurses didnt even seem too afraid of the girl even when she held a metal object. He thought that these people were almost like those of the lab.

"Ma'am... that's a spoon."

The tone of the nurse's voice didnt give off fear but more of a confused tone.

The girl on the bed seemed to panic at the lack of fear. Usually, even just getting near a metal object scared the living daylights out of most of the kids within the facility, but here the nurses were unfazed. To her, adults feel like another breed.

"I-I'll-" she tried to think of something threatening. "I-I'll spoon you!"

To someone who knew the other meaning of that, it didn't really sound too threatening, but the girl, as well as S.A.25, really thought it sounded threatening.

They were two poor kids in a panicked state because they were unaware of how things are outside. Unaware that not everyone was there to hurt them.

But of course, the nurses did not want to risk having these kids on a rampage, they had to sedate them.

"Sedate them."

With those two words, the two kids' demeanors changed. From fear to terror, they started to shake in fear, but they seemed ready to flee as well.

When two of the nurses tried to get close, the two kids had pounced on them, knocking them out in an instant.

They were unfamiliar of the people because their uniform was slightly different from those of the lab, they had decided to risk it and attack.

"Hey!" A nurse yelled as the two barged out of their shared room and ran through the halls bare footed and in their tattered old clothes.

"H.Y.13!" The girl abruptly grinned at the boy as they ran through the halls, dodging or knocking out anyone who tried to get them.

"S.A.25." He returned in a monotonous manner. "We have to fine, Y.N.14 then we leave this place."

"The squirt? Why?"

"Because its dangerous for both her and the people here... only I can keep her power at bay."

"Ooohhhh." She joked, despite their situation.

There was something about her light attitude to their situation that made him slightly at ease. But before he could relax, he needed to know if you were alright- or even alive.

He didn't fear you, but he was concerned about what your quirk could do. It was destructive and unpredictable. A very dangerous thing.

"Hey stop!" They stopped at the sight of two pro heroes, Eraser-head and Present Mic.

S.A.25 stepped back in fear. He was well aware of who Eraserhead was. Despite not being able to remember his own past and his life, he knew who Eraserhead was. He was the hero he was trained to be like, or at least better than him.

"E-Eraserhead." His tone was shaky.

But the man was big and tall and a lot scarier looking in real life. He looked intimidating in the picture that were provided to him, but it was different in real life.

"You're gonna surpass this man... beat him in a fight, no matter what, understood?"

He wasnt ready for that- he wasn't ready to be facing him, much less fight him.

"You know me?" Aizawa wasnt a well know hero, so it was a surprise that the kid knew him.

S.A.25's chest was beating so hard, like his heart was going to burst our of his chest, but the girl with him seemed quite the opposite. Her grin was wide as she took her stand in front of the blonde hero.

"Presentation Michael!" She pointed at Yamada proudly, almost as if she really believed that was his true hero name.

Yamada wasnt sure if he was going to laugh or get annoyed at that.

"You're getting there." Yamada muttered, taking his stance when he saw her take a fighting stance. "Look we aren't going to hurt-"

"That's what they all say!" She growled loudly, quickly jumping up and kicking the hero.

Yamada shielded his face with his arm, effectively blocking her kick. He pushed her back, but she landed quite well.

"Eraserboy, go for Pencil-head!" She ordered S.A.25 as she charged towards Yamada.

"Pencil-head?" Aizawa raised a brow, but ended up grunting as the sudden attack of the boy.

He could see the fear in the boy's eyes as he blocked his kicks. He looked unwilling was seemed forced to fight.

"Alright, I can't take this." Yamada, seeming annoyed, inhaled deeply.

"Mic no-"

But as Yamada decided to yell, no sound came out. He held the speaker that was attached to this throat. His mouth moved as if saying 'what', but no words came in.

"Muted ya." The girl giggled as she landed a kick on Yamada's quite distracted state, breaking his shades. She turned to S.A.25 and Aizawa as they fought. She grinned

"HURRY UP!" Her voice showed off visible sound energy waves.

This pushed the two males back as the girl grabbed the boy's arms and they fled.

Only to be caught in the strong arms of Aizawa's capture weapon.

"You brats aren't going anywhere," his tone was different and so what his demeanor.

Now they were both scared. The boy almost collapsed due to his intense trembling. He was not ready to be killed. He always thought he'd die if he lost or were to be captured by heroes.

He thought he'd be killed.

He didn't know it but tears welled up in his eyes as he avoided the red gaze of the hero that caught them.

"We're taking you back to the room and we're gonna talk about this, got it?" Aizawa made more stress on the 'got it', almost barking it at them.

However, he couldn't keep his cold-hearted demeanor as the sight of the two looking or already crying in fear. The terror in their eyes, their trembling bodies, he knew couldn't blame them for being afraid of an unfamiliar place.

He sighed and let them go, looking over to Yamada to check in on how he was doing.

The blonde was fine, just had a busted lip and broken shades.

"Look, we aren't here to hurt you... that's a truth, we came to check up on you... you were both almost crushed by debris." Aizawa explained as he, in a more gentle demeanor, came close to them to give them a pat, only to feel bad when they both flinched.

"Lets just get back to the room... and we can talk about it, alright?"

They stayed quiet but followed them either way. Following them back to the room, S.A.25 stopped in his tracks.

"What?" Aizawa turned to look at the boy.

"Wheres the little girl?" He vaguely remembered seeing Aizawa's face and saying something about you. "Where is she? Y.N.14?"

"In another room... why? She's your sister?"

The boy wasnt too familiar with the meaning to the word 'sister' but he guessed it was something close to associate or partner.

"I-I need to see her... please." He looked over at them with a pleading look. Aizawa wasnt too into kids, but he'd be lying if he said he didnt have a soft spot for certain kids.

But even before Aizawa could agree, the ground beneath them began to shake.

It wasnt too intense, just enough to be felt.

"Y.N.14" S.A.25 muttered, turning to Aizawa with wide eyes. "Where is she? We need to get there before anything else happens!"

Aizawa didnt understand why, but what he did get was this shaking somehow was connected to you.

If the boy was getting worked up by a small shake, it meant it could get worse.

Aizawa led them to where your room was and it revealed you backed up against the head of the bed, eyes glowing a bright red as the nurses and doctor in the room stood in front of you, wary of what to do.

Everything in the room was either shaking or floating. In there the intensify of the shaking was a little more higher, to the point that one could loose balance.

The boy did not waste time in watching. He did not want to see another blood bath to happen, much less in front of pro heroes.

Who knows what they'll do to you.

"Oi kid-" Aizawa went out to grab the boy but he had jumped into the room quicker than he had expected.

He jumped in front of one of the nurses you had an eye on. They were already starting to struggle breathing.

With him blocking your view, you realized who the boy was.

"Calm down." He gestured with his hands, taking a step closer to you. "You'r- we're safe." He struggled to give you a smile.

Fortunately, just seeing him eased you a bit to the point the intensity of the shaking that lessened.

"They aren't going to hurt us..." the closer he got to you, the safer you felt. Usually they wouldn't let him near you till experiments were over, or he was already erasing your quirk.

"We're not in the lab anymore." The tone in his voice was unreadable, but he seemed genuinely relieved. "We're far away from them." At this point, he was saying it to himself, trying to ease up the fear he had from the gaze of the pros as well as the people in similar lab coats.

By the time he was beside you, the shaking had completely stopped and you were no longer in a crying, panicked state. You seemed to have calmed down a bit.

Jumping slightly at the sight of Aizawa, said man stopped in his tracks and raised his arms a bit, almost as if telling you he meant no harm.

He didn't really do or say anything, he just observed the two of you as the nurses tried to carefully tidy up the place and leaving, upon the hero's instructions.

He gazed around the room, looking at the things you had managed to move as well as float or knock over without even laying a single finger.

"Sho.... sho..." Yamada called in a whisper, not wanting to startle you while you and the boy sat on the bed with him trying to assure you with his words.

The scruffy hero turned to look at his blonde friend and raised a brow then proceeded to walk out of the room where and the girl stood.

"What?"

"Sho... due to uh... what just happened... the hospital as requested us to... take the kids with us when we leave..."

"What?!"

The blond tried to ease his friend's mood, but he wasn't sure how at the moment.

"They... are worried for the safety of the other patients in the building, especially since it seems that everyone felt the vibration... they are worried something worse could happen." Yamada tried to explain as calmly and understandable as possible just so that Aizawa wouldn't try to fight whoever thought it was a good idea to kick kids out of the hospital when they were clearly still recovering.

The man sighed, knowing that fighting doctors will do no good. "Fine... I'll tell Nezu about our situation and see what he could suggest."

||

About an hour after signing release papers and approximately 30 minutes of trying to convince you three to hop into a cab with them, you all have arrived to an unusually inactive UA.

It was a Sunday after all.

Not much teachers would be there on these days as they'd either be having the day off or they had other business to attend to.

It was actually very good, especially since you didnt seem to keen about the idea of having too much people around, since just getting out of the hospital and into the sidewalk seemed to freak you out a lot more than expected.

"I see you have arrived!" The white stout greeted them by the gate. He looked like a mouse, but no one was sure on what exactly he was besides being the principle.

He looked over to you, examining the bandages around you, he gave you a gentle smile and waved at you. "Hello there." He greeted you three.

The two muttered out hellos while you mimicked his wave motion, shyly waving at him.

After you refused to walk into the giant building, they settled with talking about it in one of the school gardens.

The three discussed about where you could be staying as Aizawa seemed rather wary in taking in either of you. He wasn't really ready to take on a parent role for much younger kids. If it were teens, maybe he'd allow it since he could just leave them alone without much supervision.

You didn't really pay attention to what they were discussing as you were too into the sight of the garden.

The sight of so much green was so new that it hurt your eyes. The overload of colors from the plants and flowers were so much and so new.

You watched as they walked onto the fuzzy looking green area. You watched as the two older kids jumped in surprise or shivered at the feeling of the grass.

You watched as the raised their feet higher than usual when they walked onto the grass.

The three adults watched, unsure if it was appropriate to find it cute and funny.

None on you kids had shoes, just socks so you could really feel grass.

Not that they didn't care if you walked bare foot, but unexpectedly being kicked out from the hospital gave them no time to even try to buy you new clothes, much less, shoes. Aizawa was willing to carry at least you, but you weren't too happy to have him even near you.

However, right now, you stood beside him, watching warily as the two explored the grassy garden.

"Why don't you go and join them?" Aizawa gently gestured for you to join them.

You shook your head, stepping back.

Aizawa struggled to smile. It was kind of sad to see a kid your age being afraid of grass.

He squatted down to your height. "Its just grass... it wont hurt you." He said softly, a tone new to both Yamada and Nezu. "Its a weird feeling... but its not gonna hurt at all... just new."

You refused to join as new things were rarely good things to you. New meant a new way of pain and suffering. Change was something to be feared when it came to you.

"Come on... just at least at the edge... just try it." You didn't know who Aizawa was, he heck you didn't know his name, but he seemed nice.

Aizawa wanted to give you a new start. Not that he was planning on adopting you, but at least help you see that change was not so bad.

He walked over to where the grass started and decided to sit there, looking back at you and giving you a gentle smile. He patted the space beside him, "just sit with me here."

You looked over to Nezu and Yamada, who were astounded by the out of character Aizawa. They motioned for you to follow said man and you did, slowly waddling to where the man was.

You looked at him as he had his feet/ boots out on the grass while the rest was sitting on the non-grassy area.

You sat on the area with no grass, staring at the fuzzy green things growing from the ground. You moved your hand to lightly brush against the grass, jumping back as if already expecting it to attack you.

Aizawa watched as you curiously tried to interact with the grass.

His heart melted when you started to pat the grass, slowly getting accustomed to it.

"See? It doesnt hurt." He chuckled, watching you're eyes shine with curiosity.

You looked at him with your bright (y/e/c) eyes, the healing wounds on one side of your face was seen. You avoided eye contact as it did nothing good for you.

You heard the slightest shift, eyes looking up only to see the man's giant hand right above you.

Quickly, you dropped to the ground, hands covering your head as you mutations came out.

Aizawa retracted his hand, seeing his mistake. He only wanted to pat you.

You had reacted in a different way compared to what he was expecting. He expected a small jump, maybe a look of surprise, but there you were trembling in fear squatted on the ground with your hands above you head.

"Kid-"

"S-so-r-r-ii," was what cut him off.

Your soft little voice was crystal clear in his ears. The sad and terrified tone in your voice made your heart throb.

"I-I y-ya-am... S-s-so-o-r-ri." You whimpered when the man got closer to you. Usually those words somewhat helped those people in lab coats be more gentle with you, which you hoped was the same for him.

"S-s-so-o-ori."

Aizawa sighed, looking over to the other two UA staff before tuning to you.

"No no no." He tried to hush you. "I won't hurt you... I promise."

Promise

An over used term for you. A term used but never fulfilled.

You trembled as the man did not leave. He stayed in front of you, making you more anxious.

"Sorry." Your fluffy ears flicked at a word that was never said to you. "Sorry... I scared you, didn't I?"

You looked up with your tear stained face and met the warm brown eyes of Aizawa Shouta.

You always used that word but no one ever used it on you. He was the first one to say it to you, yet he hasn't even laid a finger on you.

"I didn't mean to scare you... I'm sorry." He gave a soft smile, look at you, the two ua staff then the other two kids.

The boy looked like he was ready to run in and protect you, while the girl just stood there, confused on whats happening.

"I'm the one at fault... I'm sorry." You watched as he brought out a hand to you slowly.

You stared at his hand, unsure if you should take it. No one has ever brought a hand out to you before.

You didn't know him and you werent sure if he had some sort of secret plan to kill you. He did look menacing in his dark attire and messy long hair.

You looked at your small bandaged hand then at his big one. Shakily, you placed you hand onto his and he gently helped you up.

Nezu smiled at the sight. A cute heartwarming sight of Aizawa actually looking like he cared about a kid.

"I think we no longer need to discuss where the two will be staying," chuckled Nezu.

Yamada nodded in agreement. "Looks like it."
