Hugs were now your thing. Always clinging onto Aizawa, maybe hugging his leg whenever he's cooking or his arm when he's checking papers while you and Shohei watched tv in the living area.
You also clung onto Shohei or the cats or your plushie.
Aizawa even got to move back into his bedroom and sleep with you through the night, seeing as you got lonely since Shohei now slept in his own room.
You seemed to be adjusting quite well
However, it seemed you adjusted only towards Aizawa and Shohei. Your fear of strangers and them getting into your personal space wasn't exactly changing. You'd still run crying if one of the 1A students saw you and tried to talk to you or something like that.
There was a time when Iida walked into the teacher's lounge in order to ask something from a teacher and then found you there. Without meaning any harm, he went to ask you what you were doing there and you ended up hiding under Aizawa's desk again.
Since Aizawa was busy in another class and Iida was really worried that you started hiding under the desk with tears in your eyes, you used your quirk to create a distance from him. Making him float and moving him away from you.
He got what you meant and left you alone, going back to finding the teacher he was looking for.
When Aizawa came back, you were quick to hug his leg while still shaking.
Nezu, after seeing the whole thing, suggested that you should get used to having people around. People that weren't just Hoshiko, Yamada or Kayama. He meant other people like his other colleagues and his class. So Aizawa started with his colleagues, since his class still needed prepping.
They encouraged the other teachers to try and make a conversation with you in school. Of course, they knew that it had to be one by one and that they still had to maintain distance in order to not freak you out, but there were times that some accidentally made you cry.
"They're all friends." Aizawa tried to talk you into it, seeing if his words actually affected anything. It kind of did. You were much calmer, less crying, less hiding under the desk whenever someone from the staff tried to talk to you.
You, still learning how to make a full sentence, would answer back with maybe a word or two and that was it.
The staff were all happy that you were answering back, but you always shied away. However, progress was progress.
Aizawa didn't want to put too much pressure in you to adjust, but the thing was that he didnt want what happened to Midoriya to happen to anyone else. The fact that you used your quirk on him and Iida worried him as he didn't want anyone else getting hurt.
You just had a destructive and unknown quirk.
It was dangerous.
Even for you.
So aside from just having the staff come talk to you, Aizawa suggested the idea of having people over at his house.
He wasn't too fond of it, but at least just some colleagues, maybe stay to talk about their work then try to talk to you.
Of course, you shied away from them and Aizawa just had to think of another way.
Then the thought of a play date came into mind.
||
Friday afternoon came, you three were all in the living room area. You sat by the coffee table, scribbling down things while Shohei watched animal planet and Aizawa was cleaning.
You became quite fond of writing as well as drawing, often trying to either write or draw what you saw. It was one of the most normal habits you had picked up that most kids your age does.
You rarely liked what most kids you age liked, though it was understandable, it was just worrying, especially since you've been with Aizawa for a while now.
Because unlike you, Shohei seemed to have already sunken into a more relaxed state. He acted like a normal teen, well of course aside from his training for becoming a hero, he was one of the 'nicer', more responsible teenagers, who took studies seriously and being a good student.
Although, Aizawa didn't seem to get that that may have just been a side effect of him not knowing much and growing up in a terrible place like you... maybe it was not so obvious coping mechanism- no adapt as quickly in order to feel like he knows something or at least has a bit of control over something in his life.
So seeing as Shohei had already seemed to adjust, Aizawa was worrying that he had not been putting his attention to you as you didn't seem to progress as much as Shohei did.
He can admit that lately, he's left you in the faculty under the supervision of the other staff members as he tended to his students, not to mention giving Shohei and Hoshiko private lessons and training in order for them to fully catch up with the class.
So you, only picking up your first normal habit, which was drawing, made him quite happy.
You weren't so into getting toys, not like most kids who'd cry over one toy when they already had a lot. You were content with the stuffed cat you had.
You weren't into watching those kiddie shows or movies with the musicals or moral lessons. Not entirely getting what the excitement was about with watching people through the screen (on the contrary to you're little past time with Aizawa in the faculty, which was watching animal videos, much more interesting than people)
You didn't like the thought of getting your own room, often clinging to Aizawa. And you didn't like being around people, not even with other kids. Usually, kids were hyper and always wanting to be in activities or games with others.
You were just quiet and reserved.
You weren't hyper. You didn't like playing with the other kids, nor did you like doing anything that took up too much energy. Often you could be found sleeping in the couch with the cats, or in the bed or maybe just staring into nothing, as if you were so deep into thought.
Aizawa sighed, glancing at you and how you gently switched colored pencils then continued in your slowly-improving way of coloring.
You were quiet, rather serious and very concentrated in what you were working on.
A knock on the door disrupted your peaceful coloring and Shohei's concentration on a documentary on elephants.
"I'll get it." Shohei volunteered, getting up and walking to the door, meeting familiar faces.
"Hello Shohei." Ms. Kozume smiled at the young boy. "Kenma say hi!"
Shohei made gave a smile "hello Ms. Kozume.... Hi Kenma."
The cat lady giggle, playing a hand over to his shoulder and smiled "please call me Koneko."
Apologies for anyone who has that nameð
Koneko, or Ms. Konzume, has always been quite nice and sweet. Whevener Aizawa had to leave for hero work, she's be sure to come by and maybe give cookies or over all stay with you two. She'd bring in Kenma from time to time as well.
So seeing her there was not much of a surprise, but of course it still made you two kids wonder why exactly she or Kenma was there.
"Ready for your playdate with (Y/n)?" She asked Kenma, who shyly hid behind her, as if not wanting to admit his excitement.
Your looked over to the fuss at the door and wondered why Shohei hadn't come back. As you leaned to the side to look at who was the door, you caught a glance of the young cat-like boy with brown hair that then turned into golden strands. his eyes connected to yours and you could feel the excitement in his gaze.
"Hi (y/n)! How are you, baby?" Ms. Kozume waved, the three of them walking to where you currently were. She smiled at you gently, placing a neatly wrapped bento box in front of you, always into spoiling you with food.
"Hi" Kenma muttered, his hands holding onto this little backpack.
"H-Hi-ii" you waved, it was also a quite strange habit you picked up on, waving. You could say you liked it a lot.
"Kenma, right you wanted to show (y/n) one of your new games?" Koneko giggled, gesturing to his bag.
The boy shyly nodded, bringing out his Nintendo switch. He brought out as well some accessories and the little chip that would help play the game.
"I-I have some games we-we can... play..." he shyly twiddled with his chips. "Hollow knight... Zelda... mario cart... Minecraft... and animal crossing..." as much as you found it really nice that he was showing you his games, you did not know what any of those where.
"Bu-but... Mom said maybe you're not into video games... so I brought a coloring book too."
The word coloring made you're eyes sparkle. So you two sat by the coffee table and went on to coloring.
Aizawa and Koneko had their parent-to-parent chat about you two, while Shohei ended up having a group call with some of the class as they had a group research paper to do.
You enjoyed Kenma's time with you as he wasn't much with words too. He was quiet and focused like you. His bright hazel eyes always seemed to be examining things.
Soon you both almost finished the entire coloring book.
"Oh wow... we... almost finished it." He gave a small smile as you nodded.
You watched as his eyes gazed over his nintendo, looking liked he really wanted to play.
"G-ame... vi-deo... game." You gestured to his switch. "T-teach... me?"
The boy's eyes brightened, so happy to hear that someone wanted to play his games with him. Actually interested in learning.
He went on to setting it up ( with Aizawa's permission and help, of course) and had you choose a game.
Not knowing much about the games he had, he recommended Animal crossing and soon enough you were both in the game and he was teaching you the controls.
"Press this to do that action." He motioned to a button and you follower, successfully doing the action you wanted to happen.
"They seem to be enjoying." Koneko giggled, happy to see her son gaining a friend, especially since he always preferred to be cooped up in his room to play. At least now he was interested in talking, even if it was about games as well.
"(Y/n) seems to be actually enjoying... I'm kind of happy to see her getting into games."
"In moderation, of course."
"Of course."
Soon you two switched over to minecraft, where you learned about what creative was and what survival was.
Aizawa enjoyed how you jump from where you sat, controller in hand as you two killed off zombies. He was quite amused by how you acted like a normal child... for once, you werent this sad paranoid problematic child.
You, for once, acted normally.
The night when on with the two of you building and overall working your way though minecraft survival mode.
"Pog." Kenma muttered, watching you kill off another skeleton. He had explained to you that you werent exactly killing or hurting anyone as it was only a video game after all.
It somehow eased you into playing.
The entire night was spent with you playing games, Shohei joined in afterwards and later on Aizawa and Koneko went on to join and play board games instead.
It was a delightful, normal night.
A night Aizawa felt like you were, for once, normal.
