Amara
I fluttered my eyes open concerned about what time it was.
Did I miss my own wedding!?
I jumped up and looked around not recognizing the room I was in.
Then I finally remembered what happened. I was hoping I just had a bad dream but unfortunately it was reality.
I was on a bed, a queen sized bed. The room had nothing else in there but the bed, a nightstand and a small closet. The door was closed and I was pretty sure it was locked too and if it wasn't, then I sure couldn't get passed the people that wanted to keep me in here.
I instantly felt panic take over me and my heart beating a lot faster than normal. I had to calm myself down if I wanted to find a solution to my situation, but it only got worse.
I started panting and after a few seconds my vision became a bit blurry.
I didn't hear anyone coming in but I felt someone touch my shoulder and I screamed.
I looked in front of me and the anger I felt overcame my panic.
That was the driver. I could tell by his stupid shades, but now he wore a mask too which covered half of his face.
"Get me out of here!" I yelled at him.
"Here we go" He sighed.
He was probably used to this. He'd probably kidnapped girls before and who knows what happened to them-
"If you're not going to let me out then at least tell me why I'm here" I pleaded.
I couldn't even tell what he was feeling because of his sunglasses and mask.
"I said I'm saving you from an awful decision"
That was it, I was really angry.
"And I said I don't need saving. This was my decision and how do you know me anyway?" I asked.
"I can't tell you yet" He said and moved away from the bed.
"Why do you care if I make an awful decision?" I asked.
"You'll soon find out" He mumbled looking through the clothes in the closet.
That's when I realized I was still in my wedding dress. I still bad my makeup on, even though it was probably a mess by now due to all the crying, and my hair I was sure was a bird's nest by now too.
"Now as beautiful as you look, I'd advise you to take a shower" He said throwing some clothes on the bed.
"Where even is the bathroom?" I asked finally coming to terms with what was happening.
Crying and yelling won't help. If anything it will make it harder for me. Plus the guy seemed like he wasn't going to hurt me, even though I was prepared for anything.
"Come with me" He said walking out the room.
I stood up with a little difficulty from the heavy dress and followed him to the bathroom.
"There are towels in there. I'll be waiting outside so don't try anything funny" He said.
I nodded holding back the urge to roll my eyes and walked into the room.
The room was spacious and it was clear that whoever owned the house didn't have any problem with money.
I looked in the mirror regretting it instantly.
Ew
My hair was a mess, my makeup had melted and I looked like corpse bride but uglier.
'Now as beautiful as you look-'
Lies.
I took my time in the shower which was mostly me under the hot water thinking of what to do.
"Are you going to be done today?" I heard his booming voice from outside.
I sighed and finally decided to step out of the shower.
"Coming" I said wrapping the body towel around me.
I was a little too shy to be in front of him with only a towel, but it had to be done.
"So what now?" I asked standing in front of him.
He paused for a few seconds before answering, "Now you go into your room like a good little girl and stay in there until I tell you" He answered.
Something about this sentence, something about his voice and the way he said it seemed a litte familiar. I raised an eyebrow squinting my eyes at him.
"What?" He asked. I noticed the eagerness in his voice. He was nervous.
"Nothing" I said slowly, turning back to walk back into that room.
The moment I walked in he closed the door and locked it. I heard his footsteps getting more and more quiet and figured he'd left.
All this was so weird and awkward to me.
I mean how am I supposed to feel like? Scared? Angry? Happy that I at least wasn't going to get married to Jason Ray? It was a mix of these.
After putting those clothes on which were way too large on me, I fall onto the bed with a sigh.
Is this what my life has come to?
______
I sat in that room for God knows how much time. It didn't have a window so I had no idea what time of day it was.
I heard someone unlocking the door and sighed.
"I brought you food" The guy said.
I still didn't know his name.
He left a tray on the nightstand and sat on the bed.
"What?" I asked.
"Eat"
"I'm not hungry"
"Eat or I'll feed you" He raised an eyebrow.
"How do I know it's safe to eat the food?" I asked squinting my eyes.
"You want me to try it?" He asked.
I mean since he's okay with trying it then there's nothing in there right?
"No, it's okay" I said and took the tray, but I couldn't eat with him staring right into my soul, "Can you go?" I asked.
"Nope"
"Can you look the other way?" I asked.
For the first time ever, I could detect some kind of emotion in his tone.
He chuckled, "No, just eat"
I rolled my eyes and started eating. If he wanted to see me gulping down all the food I had no problem with that.
"What's your name?" I asked.
"Can't tell you"
"Can you tell me anything?" I asked.
"Nope, not yet"
"When then?" I asked to which he didn't reply, "How am I supposed to call you?"
"Eat your food and stop asking questions" He said a little too harshly.
I looked down avoiding looking at him and nodded.
"I'm sorry" He mumbled.
He stops my wedding, kidnaps me, locks me in a room that looks like a hole but asks sorry because he raised the tone of his voice.
Get you a man like that.
I finished the rest of my food and set the tray next to me.
"Ryder" He said.
My eyes widened hearing that word, that name but I wondered what he meant.
"What?"I asked with a small voice.
"My name is Ryder" He said taking the tray before leaving the room and locking the door.
Ryder.
Could it be a coincidence? Of course it was a coincidence, that couldn't be him. Yet his voice seemed familiar.
I'm probably reading too much into this.
