Hide And Seek
His Hostage ✓
Ryder
I think the absence of her was finally starting to settle in. I got angrier by the hour. I was upset and frustrated all the time without even realizing it.
I sat on my bed, hands pulling slightly on my hair trying to figure out what to do. I didn't even care about taking my time, I wanted her back now.
I shouldn't have given her that last kiss. In fact, I shouldn't have ever kissed her. I didn't even know where all these feelings for her were coming from. All I knew was everytime she was in sight, I wanted to be closer and closer to her.
It was that last kiss that fucked me over though, it made me regret ever coming back without her. I wanted her right now, I wanted to have her here and kiss her all I want, cuddle her all I want.
Why am I so soft for her?
The door busted open, only for Gordon to walk in.
"Ryder, the twins aren't here" He said with a worried look.
I raised an eyebrow, "What do you mean they aren't here?" I asked.
"They aren't here. No where to be found"
It's never a good thing when these brats are missing.
"Did they leave a note or something?" I asked standing up.
"One of them texted saying they'll be back later" He said.
"Oh no" I exclaimed and raked my fingers through my hair, "What are they planning now?" I whined feeling annoyed.
"Aye Ryder, chill dude" Gordon said awkwardly patting my back.
"What the fuck get your hands away from me" I said shoving him away. I didn't want anyone near me at that moment.
"Okay okay!" Damn relax"
"Any idea where they might be?" I asked.
"Well yeah but-"
"Then fucking tell me!"
"I'm trying!" He yelled back at me. I stopped and tried to calm myself.
He doesn't deserve this.
But God, he's so annoying.
"You're so not going to like this" He mumbled. I rolled my eyes, "Look, I talked to Jason-"
"What!?"
"He's a good kid-"
"What are you even saying!?"
"Ryder shut up and listen to me!" He yelled. I waited for him to continue, "Little bitch" He mumbled.
"Are you going to-"
"Yes! if you stop interrupting me" He said before continuing, "Jason said he would convince everyone to leave the house for a while so we can go get Amara"
"What!?"I yelled," This has to be a trap, there is no way-"
"Can you shut up for once!? When we ended the phone call, I saw the twins around the corner and they acted like nothing was going on but Aidan looked nervous and Alexander was staring at the wall very suspiciously"
"So does that mean they heard?" I asked.
These little troublemakers.
"Most likely, yes"
"So now they're either on their way there or-"
"They're probably already there" He continued.
"They're alone. We can't leave them alone, their dad will kill me. We're going too"
"Yep, I agree for once" He said grinning.
________
"Ouch!" Aidan exclaimed after I smacked the back of his head.
"Who told you to come here!?" I asked.
"No one" Alexander answered.
"Duh" Aidan continued.
I still don't know whether I like them or hate them.
We found them inside the empty house. We were confused and careful at first thinking it wouldn't be empty, but it turns out the only people that were here were the twins and Amara, as the twins said. We were now outside, "waiting" for her to find something.
"We don't have much time, they will probably be here any minute" Gordon said.
"How about you go hide somewhere else with your "crew" and if something comes up you can come out and help us" Alexander suggested.
This kid is smart. Unlike his brother.
"Alright we'll do that I guess" I said.
I hadn't brought many guys with me. It was me, Gordon and two others. I was just hoping we were enough.
Gordon started shooting like crazy everytime he got mad so we were definitely good enough.
We hid behind another house, not that far.
Let's hope the people that live here don't notice.
A few moments after, I saw her coming out of the house. Her presence automatically brought a smile to my face. It made me feel kind of relieved, but I wouldn't rest until I had her safe in my house again, until I could take her into my arms again.
"What are you doing here?" I heard an unfamiliar voice from behind us.
I raised an eyebrow and turned around to see an old lady. She was probably over seventy. She had white hair and wore glasses but still seemed to be squinting her eyes to see us.
Gordon chuckled and I smacked his back.
"We're-um, playing hide and seek" He said.
"What!?" She asked. She leaned forward and squinted her eyes, "How old are you?" She asked.
"Thirteen?" Gordon said hesitantly.
Yeah thirteen. Plus nine.
The other guys kept trying to hold in their laughter.
"Aw, why are you wearing suits?" She asked giving us a warm smile.
"We were at my sister's wedding" Gordon answered.
This brings back memories
"Um Ryder?" Victor, one of the guys said tapping my shoulder. I looked at him and he pointed towards where Amara and the twins where.
There was a man there. Not just any man. Christian was there.
"Um-We're sorry, but we have to go" I told the lady and pulled Gordon with me towards some bushes. The others followed.
"What do we do?" He asked.
"Alright, we three will sneak behind the house" I said pouting at me, Gordon and Victor, "You go get the car and when you hear the first gunshot, drive to us"I said and he nodded and left.
"What about us?" Victor asked.
"You'll see"
________
"Alright are you ready?" I whispered and they nodded.
Gordon pulled the trigger getting Christian on the leg while Victor sneaked up behind him for a distraction.
Christian let out a scream and fell down. I saw the car driving towards here in the distance.
"What are you doing here?" Amara asked shocked once I appeared in front of her.
"No questions right now" I said picking her up and running towards the car.
Gordon followed me and after the twins and Victor made Christian go unconscious, they carried him to the car.
We couldn't leave him here, he had to be punished for being that stupid.
"Well that wasn't too hard" Alexander commented.
"We left right on time too" Damian, the one driving said pointing behind.
They were back at the house.
"Where's Christian?" Damian asked.
"Car trunk" Aidan said panting, "This dude is heavy"
"You're heavy" Alexander groaned. Aidan sat on top of him since there wasn't enough space in the back.
I heard Amara giggling and looked at her.
She was on my lap sideways because of lack of space, but she was looking out the window. I was looking right at her instead.
In fact, I couldn't stop looking at her. I finally had her now. She was safe with me. Now I just had to take care of Scott and his group and maybe the file that she was holding could help.
I run my finger over her back and felt her relax a little against me, "I missed you" I whispered in her ear. I was pleased to see she shivered, "We have a lot to talk about home, yes?" I asked.
"Yeah" She said nodding slightly.
After we got to the house, me and Amara took a shower. Not together, each was in a separate bathroom. After changing I told her to come to my room. Well, her room now, since she spent weeks here when I was absent.
"So what did you want to talk about?" She asked sitting on the bed.
I walked towards her and stroked her soft hair, "First of all, why did you leave me?"
She scoffed, "Seriously? You ask me that question?"
"Why did you go with them?" I rephrased the question.
"They threatened me and I also wanted to see if I could find a way to help you" She said crossing her arms.
"You put yourself in danger" I said shaking my head.
She didn't realize that I would blame myself for whatever happened to her. That I wouldn't be able to live with myself if something happened to her.
"You do it all the time"
I paused. She was right.
"Sweetheart, I'm used to it" I said softly and moved some hair out of her face.
"You lied to me about so many things"
"Technically, I just didn't tell you"
"Ryder!" She yelled smacking my arm.
I chuckled, "Okay, I'll answer any of your questions"
"Let's see then"
