Amara
I agreed to go with them knowing that I wouldn't be able to let go of Ryder. I didn't care. He was a criminal and I didn't care. I wanted to be with him.
I was a little more intimidated by him now that I knew, but I also knew, or at least hoped he wouldn't ever hurt me.
I was in "my" room after one whole day still thinking about him, thinking about the kiss. His touch always managed to have me captivated. I didn't even know where all these new feelings for him came from. It seemed so natural, as if they were always there.
I wanted to see him again. In fact, I couldn't wait to see him again. I loved the way his attention was always on me, I loved how he always tried to make me feel comfortable and safe. Even if he had failed to be honest.
Coming here might have been a dumb decision, but the only reason I agreed was to find a way for this to end. I was tired of this situation. I never knew my life could change so much in a few months.
As soon as I agreed to come here Christian threatened me and told me if I try to tell Ryder to come get me or if I told him I came here against my own will, he would hurt me, Mary or even my dad.
I was devastated.
"Amara?" I heard someone. I looked towards the door of the room and saw Jason inside my room.
Wow didn't even knock.
"Hi" I said quietly.
"Hi" He said with a chuckle, "I was just-I mean I just wanted to check up on you"
"I am fine" I said, but it wasn't the truth. I wasn't fine at all.
"You can be honest with me" He smiled.
"Can I?" I said glaring at him.
"I'm sorry it has come to this Amara, I never wanted to follow my dad's plans"
He was fiddling with his fingers. He seed nervous and I didn't knew if it was because he was lying or because of my presence.
"Then why are you so eager to marry me?" I asked crossing my arms.
He laughed, "Amara, I don't even-" He trailed off.
"What?" I asked.
He walked closer to me and I got worried for a moment preparing myself to run away. I crawled further up the bed and he stopped walking.
"Hey I won't touch you, okay? I just need to make sure no one hears, 'cause if they do it won't end so well for me" He whispered.
"Well tell me, what is it?"I whispered back.
"Amara, I'm not even attracted to girls" He whispered.
I was in shock. Actually, I was torn between shocked and embarrassed because I'd just asked him why he wanted to marry me so much.
"B-but you always flirted with any girl you saw" I said.
" 'cause I had to be sure no one knew. Amara, if my dad finds out I don't know what he'll do"
"That's terrible, you shouldn't have to be forced into this life" I said.
I couldn't even imagine how stressed and worried he must have been all the time about someone finding out. Maybe this explains why he's always so restless.
"It's okay, I'm used to it" He chuckled.
"Well then I really do need to find a way out of this for both you and me" I said looking down.
"Amara, I might not be attracted to you, but you're a kind person and if I had to marry a girl I would choose you. I am used to this, but I don't want you to be miserable. Plus, I know I am not the one you want"
"Thank you, but what do you mean you know?" I asked wondering if he really knew what was going on between me and Ryder.
I mentally cursed at myself for thinking about Ryder when Jason mentioned "the one I want"
"You and Ryder" He said hesitating at first, "I've noticed some tension between you two"
I cleared my throat, "We do have a past. I don't want him though. He lied to me about everything and left me"
"You can be honest Amara, I was honest with you, but I mean I get it. I might not seem like a trustworthy person since, well, my dad is being an asshole to everyone right now. So I'll just go now since I have things to do and I'll leave you to think about it, okay?"
"Okay" I smiled at him.
He smiled back and left the room waving.
Wow, Jason is actually a very good guy or that's what he seems to be, at least.
_______
I walked around the house trying to find one person. I wanted to talk to Mary.
I hadn't seen Mary at all ever since I'd gone there, but then again I wasn't really out of my room a lot.
I walked around the house for about a few minutes, but oddly there wasn't a single soul in here which was really weird since most of the time there were many people. I looked for Jason, but I couldn't find him anywhere.
Are they together somewhere? Why didn't they let me know?
This was way too suspicious.
An idea popped into my head. It was really risky, but if I was really alone then I would be fine.
I ran up the stairs still looking around for any sign of life in the house. When I was sure no one was here, I stood in front that room.
That room was Mr Scott's office. He never let us in and the door was always closed.
I'm sure it's locked.
I put my hand on the handle and tried to open it, but it was really locked.
He was hiding something fishy in there. Something that could help get me and my family out of this situation.
I need to find a way in there.
I ran down to the kitchen to look for a sharp object or anything like that.
"Looking for this?" I shard a voice when I entered the kitchen.
My heart started beating out of my chest, but calmed down when I saw who was really there.
The twins and the one who said that was jiggling around some keys.
"Alexander?" I asked questioning my ability to tell them apart.
I saw the other twin roll his eyes and sigh.
"I'm wounded. Do you really think I'm that moody little shit-"
"At least I don't act like a kid who ate a pile of sugar"
I was beyond confused.
"Guys, stop it!" I yelled not being able to handle their fighting. They both snapped out of it and looked at me. "First of all, how and why are you here?" I asked.
I had so many questions it was hard to process.
"You don't need to know that" Alexander said.
"Tell me" I sighed and crossed my arms.
"Consider us your hint in a game. We are here to help you complete this level" Aidan said.
"You are so cringy" Alexander exhaled.
"Why do you have the keys? And why is everyone gone?"
"Calm down with the questions lady" Aidan said chuckling and threw me the keys, "These are the keys to the office. Go get whatever you want to get and then meet us outside" He said and started walking away with his brother.
I was super confused by now, but they were answering none of my questions so I guess asking was a waste of time.
I ran to the office and as they said, the keys worked and I managed to get in.
I started searching everything, very carefully. I didn't want them finding out.
All the files had something written outside to describe the content, but there was one file that didn't have anything written outside. I suspected this was what I was looking for.
I didn't have time and I was getting more stressed as time went by, so I just grabbed that file and left the room locking the door again.
As the twins said, they were waiting for me outside, but I was still confused about everything.
"We don't have much time, you need to come with us" Alexander said.
"What do you mean? What about the others? What about Mary!?" I asked.
"I don't think you got any time" IÂ heard another voice.
Oh no.
I knew this voice. It was Christian and he was gripping Mary's wrist. I could tell by the white color of his knuckles that his grip was tight too.
"Not this crusty rat thinking he's smooth" Aidan exhaled and rolled his eyes.
"About Mary" He growled and shoved a gun towards her, "If you don't want her dead you're going to have to stay here"
"You won't kill her" Aidan chuckled, "She's Jason's sister"
What!?
"You think I care about him and his good for nothing father? He's useless"
"That's great news to announce to Mr Scott" Alexander commented.
"Yeah if you get out of here alive" He grinned.
