Chapter 8
Divorce
Chapter 8
Angela looked at Brenda with a faint expression. âI need to go home.â
âThat is so boring. Tonight, Iâve reserved a private room at the Velvet Club to celebrate your return to the Empyria Group and your impending divorce. I heard there is a new batch of gigolos. Let me take you to experience it.â
Brenda grinned and raised her eyebrows, excitement evident in her eyes.
When Brenda saw those gigolos, Angela wondered if she might be tempted to kiss them directly.
She looked at Brenda with a faint smile and asked, âAre you taking me to have fun, or do you want to have fun yourself?â
Brenda, not at all embarrassed by Angelaâs teasing, walked up to Angela and wrapped her arms around Angelaâs neck, saying, âDarling, whatâs the point of us not sharing everything? Besides, you used to like Kenneth, probably because you havenât seen these other handsome guys. Come with me tonight, and I promise to satisfy you so well that youâll forget who Kenneth even is by tomorrow morning.â
Angela couldnât help but chuckle and said, âForget it, you can enjoy this kind of good thing by yourself. Iâm not interested.â
Seeing Angela about to leave, Brenda hastily grabbed her arm. âSince you have nothing to do at home, just accompany me. And y getting a divorce; are you still going to remain faithful to Kenneth?â
Angela didnât have that thought, but seeing Brendaâs persistent look, she reluctantly nodded. âFine, but just this once.â
Brenda instantly burst into laughter, looking delighted. âGot it! Letâs go. We should have dinner first.â
After dinner, they headed to the bar. As soon as they entered, the deafening music filled their ears, and under the colorful lights, people on the dance floor were moving to the beat, with cheers echoing incessantly.
Brenda led Angela straight to the second floor. This bar had two floors. The first floor had a dance floor and booths, and the second floor had many rooms with better privacy and private rooms with one glass wall
wall were typically used for customers to enjoy the view of people dancing on the lower floor. The private rooms with one glass downside was that there was little privacy, and everything inside could be seen from the outside.
Brenda and Angela, led by a server, entered one of the private rooms with one glass wall, and their ordered drinks and gigolos arrived shortly.
Seeing the two handsome gigolos, Brenda looked at Angela triumphantly and said, âAngie, I didnât lie to you, did I? Which one do you like? After you choose, Iâll take the other one.â
The gigolos at the Velvet Club only drank and chatted with guests. They didnât provide sexual services, so each of them had some skills, such as singing, dancing, or doing magic tricks
Angela glanced over the two menâs faces and smiled at Brenda, saying, âWhy not have both of them yourself? You
âWhat? We should always share.
o like them both.â
How about this? The one closer to you will accompany you, and the one closer to me will be with me
The two gigolos were quite intelligent. As soon as Brenda finished speaking, they separately sat down next to Brenda and Angela.
âHow should I address you, miss? Iâm Nick Jensen. Is there anything youâd like me to do?â

Chapter 8
Nick gazed at Angela with a charming smile, excitement bubbling inside him. He had never encountered such a beautiful guest before, especially a stunning beauty without plastic surgery like her. He felt he had hit the jackpot tonight.
He thought if every guest he met was as stunning as her, he wouldnât mind providing sexual service.
Angela glanced at him faintly and somewhat indifferently replied, âYou donât need to do anything. Just sit here quietlyâ
She wasnât quite sure how to handle this kind of situation, and she was starting to regret agreeing to come there with Brenda.
Nick was momentarily stunned, a hint of surprise in his expression.
.
However, having received professional training, he quickly regained his composure and smiled, saying, âWell then, how about I sing a song for you? I actually sing quite well.â
Angela nodded and replied, âOkay.â
Nick soon chose a song, and the private room was filled with a pleasing melody.
Across from Angela, Brenda and her gigolo were busy feeding fruit to each other, and Angela couldnât help but blush as she watched. She quickly looked away and earnestly listened to Nickâs singing.
As Owen Parker, Kennethâs best friend, passed by Angela and Brendaâs private room, he casually glanced inside and was immediately taken.
back.
Owen was aware of Angela and Kennethâs secret marriage, a fact known to only a few close friends besides the Lewis and Sinclair families.
However, Owen never expected Angela, whom Kenneth described as conventional, to be in a bar.
He couldnât help but chuckle, thinking that this would be interesting
He looked away and quickly entered another nearby private room. As he pushed the door open, he heard Henryâs amused voice. âOwen, youâre more than half an hour late. It should be on your bill tonight.â
Inside the room, besides Henry Hastings and Upton Cooper, also Kennethâs best friends, there was Kenneth. He was sitting there with expression, sipping his drink with an aloof demeanor.
Apart from Kenneth, Henry and Upton were accompanied by attractive women in revealing attire.
Owen closed the door, blocking out the deafening music from outside, and sat down next to them. He looked at Kenneth and spoke. âDo you guys know who I saw just now?â
âWho?â Henry asked with interest. âYour exâgirlfriend? The one faked a pregnancy test, trying to marry you?â
Owen, always a womanizer, didnât expect to find himself in trouble. He had tangled with a cunning starlet who tricked him. His mother was pressuring him to get married to someone suitable ever since. He had been staying at the company for the past few days to avoid his mother.
Owenâs face darkened, and he snapped, âHenry, you should really watch your words.â
H
However, Henryâs smile grew wider as he replied, âCome on. Spill the beans. Donât keep us in suspense. Youâre late, and weâre being lenient by not making you drink three cups already. Donât dawdle.â
âBelieve it or not, I saw Kennethâs wife,â Owen replied.

The moment he uttered those words, holding the glass, Kenneth froze and looked at him coldly. âAre you sure?â
47%0
Owen couldnât help but wear a gloating expression as he nodded. âShe came with a friend, and they are still even with pigolos. When I passed by, she was watching the gigolo singing. Kenneth, it looks like she might be having an affairâ¦
Before Owen could finish his words, Kenneth forcefully placed his glass on the table, got up, and quickly headed outside.
He thought to himself, âSheâs really pushing her luck. Not only did she ask for a divorce and block me, but now sheâs at the bar with a gigolo. Sheâs becoming quite bold.â
Owen watched Kenneth leave in bewilderment, then turned to Henry and Upton, asking, âI thought he liked Jennifer. Why was he so angry at Angela being with a gigolo?â
Henry shrugged. âEven if he dislikes Angela, theyâre still a couple. No husband can tolerate his wife openly getting cozy with someone else.â
In his view, Kennethâs reaction had nothing to do with whether he liked Angela or not. Kenneth simply couldnât accept his woman to openly engage in flirtatious behavior with someone else.
Sitting quietly beside them, Upton had a flicker of emotion in his eyes. His hand, which was hanging by his side, involuntarily tightened. He then picked up the glass of wine in front of him and downed it in one go.
the way,â Owen continued, âdo you guys know who Angelaâs friend is? Youâll be surprised if I tell you.â
?â Henry asked, somewhat uninterested.
âBrenda.â
Hearing that, Henry became extremely unpleasant with a gloomy look, and he clenched his teeth. âWho did you say? Brenda?â
âYes, the one whose family went bankrupt a few years ago. We used to attend parties together. Whatâs wrong?â
Henry sneered and said slowly, âItâs nothing. I was just surprised.â
After saying that, he pulled the attractive woman next to him close, took out his phone, and took a selfie before posting it on Insta
The woman looked pleasantly surprised and gazed at Henry affectionately. âMr. Hastings, what are youâ¦â
Henry looked at her coldly and said, âDonât misunderstand. I just want someone to see it.â
The womanâs face paled slightly as she realized she had misunderstood his intentions.
Kenneth reached the private room with one glass wall and saw Angela inside. She was feeding her gigolo some fruit, almost touching his lipst with her fingers. Kennethâs anger flared even more.
A few minutes ago, Brenda had noticed Angelaâs lackluster mood and suggested they play a game of Truth or Dare together.
Angela lost the game, and Brenda made her feed the fruit to the gigolo beside her.
Just as Angela put the fruit into the mouth of the gigolo, the door to the private room was suddenly pushed open, and an extremely cold voice filled with anger echoed from the doorway. âAngelalâ
