Chapter 47
Divorce
Chapter 47
Angela was speechless after hearing Kennethâs words
After a moment of silence, she took the takeout and turned to enter the villa, deciding to act as if Kenneth didnât exist.
Having finished her meal and about to go upstairs to sleep, Kenneth, who was sitting opposite her, finally lost his patience. âWhen are you coming back with me??
Angela looked at him indifferently. âI never said I would go back with you.â
âAngela!â
all.
Kenneth glared at her and gritted his teeth. âFine! Youâd better not regret it!â
âI already do,â replied Angela.
Seeing a flicker of surprise in Kennethâs eyes, Angela smiled, âI regret not moving out earlier, or else I wouldnât have had to deal with all those troubles that followedâ
Fuming. Kenneth stormed off, leaving Angela relieved she could finally rest peace.
Angela received a call from Beatrice in the afternoon, asking her to come to Harmony Manor.
When Angela arrived, Beatrice was having coffee in the living room.
Upon seeing Angela, Beatrice smiled warmly. âAngie, come sit!â
âGrandma, did you need me for somethingâ asked Angela.
Once Angela sat beside her, Beatrice took her hand and sighed, âAngie, do you really want to divorce Kenneth?
After a few seconds of silence, Angela nodded resolutely. âYes.â
âIs there really no chance for reconciliation? I really donât want to let you go⦠Beatrice said sadly.
Angela smiled and squeezed Beatriceâs hand âGrandma, even if I divorce Kenneth, you will always be very important to me!â
Beatrice nodded. âAlright, I will decide for you and let you divorce Kennethâ
âThank you, Grandma!â Angela beamed.
She had thought Beatrice was just speaking casually at the resort, but it turned out she was serious
Seeing Angelaâs sincere smile, Beatrice felt a bit choked up.
Beatrice inwardly grumbled, âKenneth is such a fool for choosing Jennifer instead of Angela. Heâs completely wasted all the teachings I gave him!
Soon after, Beatrice had the lawyers drift the divorce agreement.
âAngle, take a look and see if thereâs anything you want to change,â she said.
Angela reviewed the agreement and found that Beatrice had given her 10% of the Sinclair Groupâs shares. She quickly refused. âGrandma, I donât want the shares of the Sinclair Group. Itâs too valuable, and Mr. Sinclair surely wonât agree.â
Angela knew just one p
one percent of the Sinclair Groupâs shares were worth billions, and she felt it was too much responsibility.
âIf he dares to disagree. Iâll break his legs Beatrice declared sternly.
Angela couldnât help but laugh at Beatriceâs serious expression, but she still refused, shaking her head. âGrandma, I really donât want it. Iâm divorcing Mr. Sinclair because I donât want any ties with him anymore.â
âAngie, this is the wedding gift I promised you. With these 10% shares, no one will dare to underestimate you even after your divorce from Kenneth. Besides, if you really donât want any involvement with the Sinclair Group, you can always sell the shares to Kenneth!â Beatrice suggested
Sering Beatrice scheming against her own grandson without batting an eye. Angela was inwardly moved by how much like a real grandmother she

However, Angela still didnât intend to take the shares. She wasnât short of money now. The 10 million dollars Angela had earned from her previous missions had not even been used, and it would be enough for a long time for her needs.
Kenneth arrived shortly after.
Upon seeing the divorce agreement handed to him by Beatrice, his face turned extremely grim âGrandma, I wonât a

to a divorce!â
Beatrice stood up with a stern expression and commanded, âCome with me to the study.
After the two entered the study, Angela fell time dragging unbearably slow.
She mused, âIf even Beatrice canât persuade Kenneth to divorce, then my chances of getting a divorce will be next to impossible. I really donât want to waste any more time on Kenneth:
It was quite a while before Kenneth followed Beatrice out of the study, his expression colder than ever.
He walked up to the table, picked up the pen, and immediately signed his name. His gaze locked onto Angelaâs eyes, as cold as ice that could almost freeze someone to death. âAngela, are you satisfied now!â
Angela was unfazed, smiling lightly, âVery satisfied.â
Then, as she was about to put away the divorce agreement after she signed it, Kenneth suddenly snatched it from her.
Angelaâs heart skipped a beat, fearing another complication, and looked at Kenneth. âMr. Sinclair, it would be better if I keep the divorce agreement.â
âI donât trust you, he replied bluntly.
âWhat do you mean?â Angela frowned, puzzled.
Kenneth sacered, âAfter all, you managed to get Grandma to give you 10% of the Sinclair Group shares. Who knows what you might do with the divorce agreement? I canât afford that risk.
Angela pressed her lips together and responded, âI donât intend to keep the 103 shares Grandma gave me
She had been so clated by Kennethâs agreement to sign that the forgot about this detail.
you think Iâd believe that?â
Kenneth looked at her with scorn. âDo you
âIf you donât trust me, Mr. Sinclair, we can reprint the divorce agreement right now and remove the 10% shares of the Sinclair Group. I donât want a single penny of compensation, Angela offered.
Just as she finished speaking. Beatrice immediately said, âAngie, since Iâve already decided to give you the 10 shares of the Sinclair Group, I wonât
change my mind. You can take the shares and divorce Kenneth or refuse the shares and pretend nothing happened today. The choice is yoursâ
âGrandmaâ¦â Angela sighed somewhat helplessly. She wanted the divorce but truly didnât want the shares.
âYouâve been given a choice. Now itâs up to you to decide.â Beatrice stated firmly.
After a moment of hesitation, Angela relented. âAlright, I agree to take the shares.â
She thought, I can always find a way to transfer them to Kenneth later.
Kenneth sneered and left the living room immediately.
Angela wanted to follow hi
him, but Beatrice held her back.
er with t
the agreement.â
âAngie, donât worry, he signed it willingly. He wonât tamper
Though Angela w
was still somewhat worried, she nodded in agreement.
After having lunch with Beatrice, Angela left Harmony Manor.
Before she walked out the door. Beatrice looked at her with a mix of sadness and affection, her eyes slightly reddened. âAngle, if you ever miss me, you can always come back to see me. Even if you divorce Kenneth. I will always be your grandmother.
Krowing Beatrice truly cared for her, Angela fel a bit saddened âGrandina, donât worry, Iâll come to see you whenever I have time
Beatrice let go of Angelaâs hand, her heart heavy with sorrow. They both knew that Angelaâs visits to Harmony Manor would likely be rare after her

âAlright, go on now. Be careful on your way back Beatrice said softly
Angela then quickly turned to leave, her eyes brimming with tears.
Angela thought, Although Beatrice is not my biological grandmother, she has given me a sense of familial warmth Iâve longed for. If it werenât for Kennethâs affair, perhaps I would have stayed in a marriage without love, just for Beatrice. But unfortunately, there are no whatâifs
After leaving Harmony Manor, Angela went straight to Vista Villa to find Kenneth.
Upon seeing her, Kennethâs expression turned cold. âWhat are you doing here? Isnât the 10% of the Sinclair Group enough for you?!â
