Divorce
Chapter 36
Today, he wore casual clothes, starkly contrasting with his usual business attire, but his whole demeanor was gloomy, making him seem distant.
He and Angels exchanged a glance. Then she calmly looked away.
Linda Green, the housekeeper at Harmony Manor, greeted Angela with a warm smile. âMrs. Sinclair, youâre here! Mrs. Beatrice Sinclair has been waiting for you for quite some time.â
Linda had always been looking after Beatrice. Although they claimed to be the m

Linda gratefully took the lemon cake with a beaming smile. Thank you, Mrs. Sinclair. Iâll put these away and take them to Mrs. Beatrice Sinclair right away. Sheâs been craving theseâ
Angela said âGreat, Ill go see her now.â
As she entered the living rooms, Beatrice instructed a servant to serve Angelaâs favorite snacks to her.
âPut Angieâs favorite gummies in the front, and those little hiscuits tooâ¦â
Angela couldnât help but smile, feeling Beatrice still doted on her like a child.
Angela said, âGrandma, youâve prepared so much. Flow can I eat all this by myself?â
Beatrice turned around in surprise. âAngic, youâre here! Itâs okay. Iâll have them pack it for you to take home. You can enjoy later.â
Angela approached Beatrice and took her hand, smiling, âCome on Why donât we have a seat and chat?â
âOf course!â
As soon as they sat down, Beatrice looked at Angela and noticed she had lost weight, showing a look of concern
Beatrice said, âYouâve lost weight again. I heard from Kenneth that youâve got a job. If itâs too exhausting, you donât have to do it. Kenneth earns enough to support you. Besides, I have some savings; Lean give it all to you!â
Angela shook her head. âItâs not tiring. Td be bored at home anywayâ
Seeing her insistence, Beatrice didnât push further. âAlright, but if you feel tired, just quit the job. Donât overwork yourself
âI know
Kenneth walked into the living room and sat opposite them during their conversation.
Though he didnât interrupt their talk, they just couldnât ignore him.
Beatrice also noticed that Angelaâs smile faded when Kenneth entered the room.
She knew they must have had a spat.
Beatrice said. âKenneth, I asked a servant to prepare some juice in the kitchen. Go check why it hasnât been served yet.â
After Kenneth left, Beatrice looked at Angela. âAngle, whatâs going on? Did Kenneth upset you?â
Surprised by Beatriceâs perceptiveness, Angela smiled and replied, âNo, donât worry,â
âIf Kenneth upsets you, donât hesitate to tell me. I will punish him for you!â
âI know, youâve always been the best to me.â
Soon, Kenneth returned with the juice, placing it on the table before looking at Beatrice. Tm going to the study to do some paperwork.â
Glancing at him, Beatrice said briefly, âYou should tell this to your wife, not me!â
Beatrice thought Kennethâs dullness was likely the cause of their argument.
Noticing Kennethâs gaze, Angela looked down and said indifferently, âSheâs joking. Go ahead with your work; donât worry.â

Kenneth felt her coldness, and his expression turned grim. So he left without saying any word.
Only after Kenneth walked away did Beatrice turn to Angela. âAngie, when do you plan to have children?â
Angela was s sipping on her juice. She almost choked upon hearing the words
After swallowing her juice awkwardly, she set down her glass and said softly, âGrandma, we donât have any plans like that at the moment,
Beatrice sighed and said with a tone of pity. âJennifer came back. Iâm worried youâll be mistreated. If you two had a child, maybe Kenneth would be more loyal to you.â
Angela smiled, âIf I need a child to keep him by my side, that would be too pathetic. I wonât let myself fall into such a situation.â
to you, and you healed his leg. Anyway, Iâll only acknowledge you as his wife!â
âKenneth owes his life to yo
Beatrice felt that Jennifer would never have a chance to marry Kenneth unless she died!
Hesitating momentarily, Angela still looked seriously at Beatrice and said, âActually, Iâve been thinking a lot lately. If one day I divorce him, I hope you will support me.â
Beatrice was shocked, not expecting their relationship to have deteriorated this much,
She asked, âDad Kenneth cheat on you!â
âNo, I just wanted to let you know in advance, in case we really come to that pointâ
Beatrice didnât speak for a long time, and her mood had clearly dropped when she spoke again. âI see.
Because of this, Beatrice was in a bad mood even during dinner, finding fault in everything Kenneth did.
After dinner, Beatrice wanted to have them stay overnight at Harmony Manor, but Angela and Kenneth had work the next day, so she had to let them go.
As they left, Beatrice pulled Kenneth aside and said through clenched teeth, If you dare mistreat Angie, donât even think about getting a single share of the Sinclair Group!â
Although Kenneth was the head of the Sinclair Group, the shares were actually controlled by Beatrice.
Three years ago, Kenneth agreed to marry Angeln partly because Beatrice promised to give him eight percent of her shares after five years.
But Angela was unaware of this agreement.
Kennethâs eyes grew grim, and he said solemnly. âI got it.â
Angela didnât know what Beatrice said to Kenneth, only noticing that he became even more sullen when he came back.
Before turning away, she glanced at him briefly and said goodbye to Beatrice with a smile. âIl visit you again next time!â
Beatrice was wistful. âWell, if Kenneth ever makes you feel sad, you must tell me. I got your back!â
Feeling the warmth of Beatriceâs unconditional support, Angela nodded. âI will. Itâs windy outside, youâd better go in
âI want to see you off first.â
Angela didnât say much more, waved her hand, got into her car, and left. Kenneth, who had been ignored the whole time, looked gloomy.
Beatrice glanced at him unhappily, her eyes full of dislike. âAlright, you can go now!
After saying that, Beatrice turned and walked into the living room, not wanting to look back.
Kenneth felt helpless
He thought he was being disliked by both of them.
Just as Angela drove down the mountain, Kenneth stopped her,
Flix black Maybach was parked in front of her car. Kenneth got out of the car and walked towards her.
Feeling the intimidating vibe emanating from him, Angela frowned and rolled down the window, looking at him coldly. âWhat do you want?â
Keeping silent for a while, Kenneth said firmly, âAngela, we need to talk.â
