Divorce
Chapter 29
There was a few seconds of silence over the phone before Henryâs cold voice came through. âDebra likes that dress. Tell me how much it is, and 111 pay youâ
Furious, her face ashen with anger, Brenda retorted, âHenry, you have no right to give my things to someone else! Iâm giving you one hour. If you donât return that dress, I will sue you!â
After angrily hanging up. Brenda hesitated but decided to call Angela.
She said, âAngie. Iâm sorry. I left the birthday gift you gave me in Henryâs car last night. After breaking up with him, I forgot about it⦠Today, when I asked Henry to return it, he said his girlfriend took a liking to that dress. He just gave it to her. It pissed me off! I donât even know if I can get the dress back!â
Angela frowned upon hearing this. She hadnât expected Brendaâs exâboyfriend to be so ridiculous.
ing you like this?
Angela said, âDonât worry about it. I can design a new one for you. But how do you plan to handle them bullying you like
âItâs fine. Iâll definitely get that back. Iâve already told Henry, if he doesnât return it, Iâll send him a lawyerâs letterâ
âAlright, let me know if you need any help
âWill do, thanks
Just after finishing her call with Brenda, Angela received a call from one of her subordinates,
âAngela, the person who drugged you is named Jagger Moore. But before we could act, something happened. Heâs now probably going to jailâ
been
arrested and is
After a few seconds of silence, Angela said coldly, âSend all the evidence youâve gathered to the police. Make sure he rots in jail!â
âUnderstood.â
In the evening. Kenneth sent someone to take Angela to the restaurant
On the way to the restaurant, Angela planned to have a calm and rational talk with Kenneth during dinner
As the car stopped at the restaurant entrance, a hint of suspicion arose when Angela saw Henry and Debra. She got out of the car and quickly walked up behind them. After seeing the dress on Debra, she was sure it was indeed the Heartfall dress!
She got out of the car and quickly walked up behind Henry and Debra. After seeing the dress on Debra, she confirmed it was indeed the Heartfall dress!
These two were Brendaâs exâboyfriend and the other woman she had heard about!
Just as she was about to speak, Kennethâs emotionless voice sounded from behind. âWhy are you standing here? Why donât you go inside!â
Hearing Kennethâs voice, they turned around.
Henry looked surprised. âKenneth, I didnât expect to see you at a romantic restaurantâ
Kenneth glanced at him and responded indifferently.
Debra was shocked, âDoesnât Kenneth like Jennifer? Why would he bring Angela to a romantic restaurant?
She looked at Angela with disdain, quickly texted Jennifer, and then smilingly suggested to Henry. âSince weâre all here, why donât we have a double dace?
Henry was about to refuse when Angela suddenly agreed, âSure.â
Kenneth frowned at Angela with a puzzled look.
Once everyone was seated in the private room, Debra smilingly said to Kenneth, âMr. Sinclair, arenât you going to introduce us to this lady?â
Angela chuckled lightly and spoke with deliberate emphasis, âYou donât deserve to know who I am.â
Her words sounded harsh, and both Henry and Debraâs expressions changed.
Kenneth was surprised. He had never seen Angela be so rude to anyone before.
He wondered it Angela had known t
det Debra was behind the scheming at Robertâs birthday party.

Henry frowned and looked at Angela coldly. âWhat do you mean by that?â
Angela looked at him indifferently. âShouldnât you both be very clear about it? The dress your girlfriend is wearing was a birthday gift I gave to Brenda. Why is she wearing it now? You two may owe me an explanation.â
Debraâs face turned pale, a mix of shame and anger rising within her. She had no idea that the dress was a gift from Angela to Brenda!
Henry sneered, âIâve already transferred the money to Brenda. This dress belongs to my girlfriend now!
Angela raised an eyebrow. âYour shamelessness knows no bounds. I donât think Brenda ever agreed to sell the dress to you, did she?
Henry, his face gloomy, remained silent.
Debra looked at Angela with a tearful and aggrieved expression, her eyes brimming with tears. âI didnât know this dress was a gift to Ms. Taylor from you. I simply liked it and begged Henry to buy it from Ms. Taylor. Just blame me!â
Angela finally understood why Brenda couldnât stand up to Debra â her pitiful demeanor was likely to evoke sympathy in any man.
Angela said. âSo, you like to take whatever you want and force others to give it up? Seems like youâre used to being the other woman, always trying to steal whatâs not yours!â
âAngela, donât go too far. Iâm tolerating you only for Kennethâs sake, Henry retorted.
Kenneth glanced at Henry indifferently, stating flatly, âWell, you donât have to.â
Debraâs face lit up. She thought Kenneth really didnât like Angela.
Henry was stunned and then looked at Angela mockingly. âSince Kenneth says so, then Lâ¦
Kenneth interrupted him before he could finish his words, âEven I look down on your
Henryâs expression turned extremely gloomy as he looked at Kenneth in disbelief.
But Kenneth didnât spare him a glance, and said coldly, âReturn the dress immediately, or I wonât let your girlfriend off easily either!
Shocked that Kenneth would be so ruthless, Henry protested, âKenneth, after all these years of friendship, you treat me like this over a dress?â
Kenneth coldly glanced at him. âIf I didnât care about saving your face. Iâd make Debra take off the dress right here. It is a dress my wife gave to a friend. Does Debra even deserve to wear it?â
Henryâs face turned pale, his eyes filled with rage. âFine, if thatâs how it is, our friendship is over!â
âHave it your own damn way!â
Kenneth left with Angela in tow.
The private room fell into a deathly silence. Terrified and pale, Debra cautiously said to Henry. âHen, Iâm sorry. Itâs all my fault⦠If it wasnât for me. you wouldnât have argued with Mr. Sinclairâ¦
Henry looked at her coldly. âO
coldly. âDo home. Wash the dress and return it to Brenda.â
Debra was reluctant but didnât dare to cross Henry at that moment, so she just nodded. âI see
She looked down, her expression turning to anger.
She thought to herself that she would return the dress, but she would make sure Brenda a couldnât wear it either!
As they left the restaurant, Angela pulled her hand away from Kennethâs. âKenneth, you donât have to stand up for me. This has nothing to do with
you
âYouâre my wife. Iâve got your back!â
