Chapter 8

Jace's POV

I awoke this morning with Skylar's arm around my waist and her head

on my chest lightly snoring. I lay there looking at her while she sleeps

and think about how peaceful and vulnerable she looks, as I'm admiring

her beautiful features I move a stray strand of her hair from her face

and tuck it behind her ear. When I do that she starts to stir and her eyes

flutter open looking up at me with so much happiness in her eyes that

she cuddles even closer to me.

“Morning beautiful” I say to her in a husky voice which makes her shiver

“Good morning handsome” she says sleepily

I lean down and kiss her forehead “Are you hungry love?” I ask her

knowing her answer already

She smiles up to me “Of course I am.” She says excited and then the

next thing I hear a soft knock and yell at them to come in and in walks

one of my omegas carrying a tray filled with food. I tell her to put it on

the table by my couch by the balcony door, I thank her as she exits the

room shutting the door behind her when she leaves. I walk over to the

table and put food on 2 plates and bring Skylar her plate as I sit back

beside her in bed and enjoy every moment we share together. After we

finish our breakfast I put our empty plates on the try and crawl back

beside Skylar and we just lay there cuddling for a couple hours before I

reluctantly pull away from her.

“I hate to do this darling but we need to get packed, we leave for Silver

Moon Pack in the morning.” I say reluctantly

“Ugh do I have too?” Skylar groans out at me.

I smile and chuckle at how cute it is when she whines like that, I kiss her

lightly on the lips “Yes darling you do but if you want just lay here and

relax while I pack my things and then we will go to your room and if

you want I will pack your things for you” I say to her which makes her

eyes light up

“Okaii sounds like a deal but only on one condition you don't get to

pack my under garments that I will do myself because I have a feeling

you would pack me mostly lingerie.” she says looking at me accusingly

“*gasp* me no I would never do something like that but you have a

deal.” I say to her with a smirk making her laugh and smile at me. I got

to my closet and grab my suitcase and fill it with everything I'll need, by

the time I'm done I have a suitcase and a duffel bag filled with

everything from t-shirts and shorts to come dressy clothes for some

date nights with Sky. As I bring out my luggage from the closet and set

it by the door I look over to see that Skylar was fast asleep so I walk

over to her tuck her in and give her a kiss on the forehead before I

leave my room and lightly shut the door as to not wake her up while I

go to her room to pack her things for her. When I get to her room I

walk in and head to her closet to get her suitcase and start packing up

her clothes and not even 1 minutes of me packing her things Skylar

walks in and looks at me and smiles.

“Hello darling how was your nap?” I ask as i walk over to her and kiss

her on the cheek

“Fine but when I didn't see you when I woke up I got worried, so I

followed your scent which led me here” she smiled and looked at me

skeptically

“Why didn't you wake me?” she questions

“You looked so peaceful in your sleep that I didn't wanna wake you up”

I say shyly

She smiles at me and gives me a quick peck on the lips and goes to

help me finish packing her clothes and everything she will need

including training clothes, normal casual clothes, some running shoes,

her toiletries, make up, some lingerie, and some nice date night clothes

and shoes just in case. By the time we are done she has one large

suitcase and a duffel filled. When we finish we head downstairs to the

kitchen to get something for dinner seeing as it's already 6, when we

reach the kitchen we see 2 plates on the island with veal parmigiana

and penne pasta and salad waiting for us. As we eat I decide to mind

link Jasper (my gamma), Alex (my delta), Lucy, Amber, and 20 other

warriors I was bringing with me asking them all if they were all ready to

head out to the Silver Moon Pack in the morning and all I got back was

a bunch of "Yes Alpha’ replies from everyone at once.

After dinner I walked Skylar to her room we stood there kissing for a

few minutes before we said goodnight and once she was in her room I

mind linked my beta to meet me in my office. Once in my office I finish

up my work and talking with Lucas and then we get up and head to

bed but before I walk away my beta grabs my shoulder and tells me not

to worry the pack will be in good hands and that if he needs me he'll

call which made me feel better and more confident knowing that he

was here to take care of things while I was away. After settling

everything with Lucas and we depart for the night I head to my room

and flop on my bed and fall asleep immediately dreaming of Skylar.

Spencer's POV

It has been two and a half years since my mate ran away from me and

the pack and honestly I was starting to lose hope that she would ever

come back again. Her brother doesn't even care that she's gone and

could possibly be dead somewhere which pisses me off. Recently the

pack has been having some issues with rogues attacking more often for

some reason so Alpha Blake (Skylar's fathers ex-beta) had to give in and

ask the strongest pack around for help. I heard that they have the best

fighter in the world and I though to myself that I couldn't wait to finally

meet him and see how good he really is, there have also been rumours

going around saying that he is one of the rare Hell Hound wolves.

I honestly don't know if the rumours are true or much of anything

about him because no one really knows anything about him except that

he's strong and an excellent fighter which makes me believe that he will

be able to help out my pack a lot. I unfortunately keep the pack slut

Melody around because she has been full filling my needs ever since

Skylar ran away after I rejected her, which I regret doing but now I'm

stuck with this stupid slut and wishing that I could have my true mate.

Today Alpha Blake is stepping down and handing the pack over to me

finally. Now Tyler should be the one becoming alpha but he never

wanted the title so he gave it to me and I made him my Beta since he is

my best friend. We had the ceremony this morning before the Night

Shade Pack got here which has now become my duty to greet them

and deal with them and make sure that they are all accommodated.

Now I have been basically Alpha for the past year since Blake got tired

of being alpha so all we had to do was make it official so I already knew

what to do and once the ceremony was over Blake vanished not that I

minded. Next thing I know Melody comes into my office to let me know

that they are here, great I thought to myself I got up and grabbed

Melody's hand and we walked downstairs and outside to greet them

not knowing that I was in for the biggest shock of my life.
