Chapter 53

Skylar's POV

As soon as I got to the pack hospital and found my daughter's room I

knew by the look on the doctor's face that it was bad. I sat on the edge

of my little girls bed as I watched her sleep knowing that they put her

out so that they could take some blood samples and run some tests on

her. He left us to be while he went to check on the tests to see if the

results had come in and as soon as he was back I saw the grim

expression on his face and I knew what he was going to say before he

even said anything.

"Luna I have some grave news about Lilith's condition.” Doctor Ramsay

said in a quiet tone

I looked up to him and gave a weak smile as tears shone in my eyes but

refused to fall.

"I know what you are going to say doctor. I know that the bites the

vamp gave her injected more venom into her system and since she is

part Hell Hound with Alpha blood from me and Jace he system isn't

shutting down like it should be. No her body is adjusting to it which is

making everything about her speed up, her growth, her development,

and her aging. Normally this amount of venom should be lethal to any

werewolf but since she isn't a normal werewolf her body is acting

differently because of the magic of being part Hell Hound. I know that

what happened today is has shortened her life expectancy even more

since the venom is destroying her cells at an even faster rate.” I say to

him making him hang his head down in shame in the fact that he can't

do anything to help her no one can.

He left shortly after to let me sit with Lilith until she woke up from the

sedative they had to give her. I didn't even notice that Jasper was

sitting in the chair next to her bed until he placed his hand on my knee

to give me some sort of comfort knowing that his Luna needed it. As

soon as I looked over at him the tears ran down my face knowing that

my time with my daughter had been cut even shorter now and I

needed to tell Jace but I wasn't going to tell him until he came back

which would be sometime tomorrow night since it didn't take long to

do the paperwork or meeting with the Mystic Pack since they already

were aware of everything and had everything set up in advance.

Once Lilith woke up Jasper and I brought her back to the house and

made something to eat since we knew she would be hungry. As soon as

we got to the house Jasper went to the kitchen to make us all some

burgers and fries while Lilith napped in my arms as I sat in a recliner in

the living room as I hummed a lullaby to my little one. When Jasper was

done I woke Lily up and we ate our food and then Lilith fell back asleep

once her tummy was full so I went and placed her in her bed. After I got

back down stairs I could hear growling and that's when the scent of

someone familiar hit me. I growled as I got closer to the front door

where he stood Lucas Gray our former beta.

"What are you doing here you traitor?” I demanded in my Luna tone

"Welcome home Luna Skylar I am so pleased to see you again. How is

your little girl I hope the vamp wasn't too rough with her" Lucas

smirked evilly at me

A loud growl escaped my chest as Jasper held me back from ripping

him to shreds, "You sent him didn't you! You knew what happened to

my little girl when I was taken and you knew that her body reacts

differently to their venom because of her being part Hell Hound!" I

scream at him as I glare daggers at him as he sneers at me

"Well I needed a back up plan since you were never supposed to be

rescued from him but oh well. I needed to get revenge on your mate

for killing mine even if he didn't know she was my mate. She was a

rogue and during an attack years ago we saw each other form across

the battle field and we were making our way towards each other and

then the next thing I knew Jace came running towards her from the side

and killed her instantly. Ever since that day I had vowed to get my

revenge on him for killing my mate, I was going to kill you once he

found you but I couldn't come up with any sort of plan good enough

until I heard about your situation and contacted him and helped him

with his plans as I fed him the info he needed and then you got

pregnant. After I found that out it made me think of another plan to

hurt Jace by going after your little girl and Vance helped introduce me

to the vamp and helped me set everything into motion." Lucas revealed

quite easily to me as he gloated at the fact that he's the reason my little

girl is dying. Jasper was having a hard time keeping me held back from

ripping his throat out right then and there as my rage and wolf were

trying to take control

I growled loudly at him as I struggled to get free of Jasper's grasp and

not succeeding at all. I only calmed down a little bit when I heard Jasper

ask him the one question that's been bouncing around my mind since I

saw him standing in my doorway.

"Why are you hear now Lucas what do you want?" I heard Jasper ask

through gritted teeth

"Oh I just thought I'd pay my old Luna a visit and see how Lilith was

doing and to warn you that this isn't over yet." He said grinning like the

idiot he is.

"Oh you thought you were going to get away from here alive after this

not a fucking chance. I killed the vamp you sent yesterday and it felt

great to rip his head clean off of his body and they are naturally faster

then wolves except I'm faster.” I grin wickedly at the fear crossing his

face as what I told him sunk in finally that he had made a mistake

coming here in person.

"You better start running I'll give you a 5 second head start before I let

Skylar go" Jasper smirked at Lucas as fear rolled off of him in waves

before he turned and shifted and started running off. 5 seconds later

and Jasper let me go as I bolted out the door shifting in mid air as I

chased after the traitorous bastard that hurt my family. I caught up to

him in no time flat making him whine as he skidded to a stop and

change directions. I played with him like this for a while until he

thought about attacking me instead of running away.

He lunged but I dodged everything he threw at me like it was nothing.

He did this dance for a while until he collapsed to the ground

exhausted as my eyes gleamed in joy that he had finally given up. I

grabbed him by the scruff of his neck and dragged his whimpering

flailing ass back to the house with no effort since I was much bigger

then he was. I threw him to the ground and stood over him with my

paw on his throat making sure he didn't move a muscle and every time

he did and tried to get away I would put more pressure and growl at

him until he stopped. I linked 2 of the best warriors to come and grab

this shit head and put him in the farthest cell and chain him up with the

silver chains and inject him with wolfsbane to weaken him until Jace

came home to help decide his fate for the actions he took against his

pack.
