Chapter 4

Skylar's POV

When I woke up from the best sleep I had ever had in my life I got

dressed and waited for the twins to get out of a pack meeting so I

could ask them to come with me on a run, I also asked them if they

could show me some places I could run without being seen. The twins

were very excited and agreed to go with me on my run and about

finally seeing my wolf. Personally I was very excited to finally have

someone see my wolf because she was beautiful but I was also nervous

because of my wolf's strange coloured fur and eyes. I don't know much

about wolves because no one ever taught me anything besides the fact

that usually a wolfs fur and eyes are the same colour as their human

form but I didn't know why mine were so different was beyond me. I

wanted to research it one day but my psychotic brother decided it

would be hilarious to break my hand in multiple places because he was

bored and in a bad mood for some reason. I was snapped out of my

bad thoughts when I saw the twins running at me excitedly.

“Skylar can we go for a run now?" Jasper whined looking at me with

puppy dog eyes

“I'm with Jasper, come on lets get going last one there is a rotten egg!”

Alex shouted while running towards the forest to shift

“No fair you guys are cheating” I said pouting as I watched the twins

begin to shift into their wolves and when they came out from behind

the bushes I saw that they were both beautiful chocolate brown wolves.

The only way I could even tell them apart from each other is because

Alex's paws were black instead of brown and Jasper had a white patch

on his chest. After I was done admiring the twins wolves I went and

shifted into my reddish gold eyes and blood red and black highlighted

fur and the boy's jaws dropped taring at me which made me a little self

conscious and the next thing I know they were back in their human

forms looking at me with amazement in their eyes which made me

nervous so i tucked my tail between my legs and layed on the ground

and whined at them unsure of what to do.

"OMFG Jasper she's gorgeous. She is one of the rarest wolves ever. No

one has seen a wolf like her in like a thousand years and now she’s

showed up here in our pack of all places.” Alex was saying to Jasper

As I lay there watching them I stopped whining and just stared at them

with confusion about what they meant by what they said about me

being some rare type of wolf. Next thing I know I felt someone touch

my fur which scared the hell out of me and as I jumped up and looked

at who touched me I realized it was Jace, I stared at him wondering

where the fuck he came from. I shifted back to my human form and got

dressed and looked at Jace and the twins who were all staring at me,

looking at me with my reddish gold eyes and blood red and black hair

which made me feel awkward and shy.

“Jace what did the twins mean when they said that I'm some rare wolf

and staring at me like I have 2 heads?” I shyly ask him

“Skylar darling would you come with me to my office so I can talk to

you about this please” Jace said to me with a grin

“Okaii darling” I said back to him which made his beautiful face light up

I was following behind Jace as we were making our way to his office

and after what felt like forever we finally stopped in front of a huge set

of nicely crafted wooden doors, as we entered the room he asked me

to sit in one of the chairs in front of his desk as he headed to a giant

bookshelf to look for a specific book. Once he found the book he was

looking for he came and sat on the chair next to me while showing me

a picture of a wolf that looked very similar to mine. I just sat there

staring at the picture for a few moments before I was able to find my

voice to finally look up at Jace to ask him what was on my mind.

“Jace what kind of wolf is this?” I asked him staring down at the picture

of the black wolf with red paws and tail that had a white star on it's side

where as I had blood red fur with black highlights and a black hear on

my chest.

"That there is a very rare kind of wolf, those wolves are said to have

special powers that they develop after they find their mate and

complete the mating process. These kinds of wolves are called Hell

Hounds, they are the fastest, strongest and most feared wolves around

they are even stronger and as tall as an alpha wolf. Hell Hounds are

typically warrior type wolves and people who weren't terrified of them

would hire them as security, guards, or as mercenaries all because of

their stealth, strength and ferocity. Now once a Hell Hound and their

mate complete the process they both go through a transformation

during the next full moon that comes after the day that they completed

the mating process. No one really knows what powers they might be as

they change for every wolf, which makes me wonder what kind of

powers you will inherit darling.” Jace told me as I stared at him in awe.

“Ahhhh I see, I know I am a very weird wolf and I would understand if

you wanted me to leave.” I said to him with very sad eyes

“I would never ever ask you to leave Skylar, you are the most

enchanting creature I have ever met with such a gorgeous wolf, haven't

you realized just who you are?” Jace asked me while putting his hand

on my knee and staring straight into my eyes and when he did that I

felt little sparks and tingles where his hand was on my knee but I just

shook it off as nothing but chock at what he had just told me.

“Umm no I don't the only people who have ever seen my wolf besides

me are the twins and you, wait are you telling me that I am one of

these rare Hell Hound wolves?” I looked at him as the realization of

what he told me finally sinks in.

“Is this the first time you are learning about the Hell Hounds or wolves

in general?” he asks me

“Pretty much, but I do remember some of my old pack members were

talking about them and they say that they got special powers and they

they lived extremely long lives and that once they find their mare and

complete the mating process is when they get their powers. Some even

say that they can cheat death like the legend of the wolf of Eternal Life

but then they just laughed it off and said that it was nothing more then

a myth because one hasn't been found in like a thousand years, well

until now I guess.” I said chuckling lightly with a shy smile on my face.

“Well it would make sense if they could cheat death because the Hell

Hounds are descendants of the wolf of Eternal Life. Once other thing

that you should know is that they say when the next Hell Hound is

reborn she will be the salvation for some and the destruction of others.

They also say that she will usher in the new era for all of werewolf kind

under her and her mates rule, which would basically make her and her

mate the King and Queen of all werewolves.”

“Welp my special little Skylar, if you haven't clued into what I have been

saying you are a very rare and special wolf, my little Hell Hound and

Queen it is a great honour to have the saviour of werewolves in my

pack” Jace said with admiration and love swirling in those gorgeous

light blue eyes of his that just make me melt.

“Whoa whoa whoa wait a minute aren't Hell Hounds supposed to be

strong, fierce warrior type wolves and not scrawny, weak, and broken

like me.” I said with sadness and shame seeping into my words I said

just above a whisper but I knew he heard me.

Jace sat there looking at me intently before speaking “Once I get you

into training you will become the fiercest leader anyone will ever see,

you are a rare Hell Hound and the future Queen of werewolves which

means you will become one of the strongest wolves alive especially sine

you also have alpha blood in you as well. Since we know what you are I

will set up a meeting with the elders right away darling.” Jace said

lovingly

Once we finished talking I left his office still in utter disbelief and shock

over being told that I am a rare wolf which is crazy if you really think

about it. I couldn't help but think about my old pack wondering if they

would have known about me if they would have treated me differently

and actually been nice to me but I doubt they would've treated me

differently. To work through these thoughts and to come to terms with

who I was I went and looked for the twins and we all finally went for

that run I wanted to go on and they brought mt to a large clearing that

we played and ran around until we were exhausted and went back to

the pack house.

Once back at the pack house I went to my room showered and got

ready for bed and when I layed on my bed thinking about today my

wolf decided to pipe up and say something.

“Goddammit Skylar they are your past. We are stronger without them

and you will rise up and become the greatest leader anyone will ever

know. We will show them that they fucked up and that they never

should've treated us the way that they did. If our mate was with us we

would be better but he rejected us because he didn't want us which is

his loss so we will have to make due on our own.” my wolf Athena said

to me before I fell into the most glorious sleep ever.
