Chapter 45

Jace's POV

I left Jason's office so that he could find out anything he could find out

and since it was late I went back to the house my pack was staying in

and went to the kitchen to make myself something to eat since I missed

dinner. After cooking myself a little something to eat I went to my room

and took a nice long hot shower that helped relax my sore tight

muscles. After drying off the best I could I threw on some boxers and

climbed into my cold bed even though it wasn't actually cold in the

room any bed I sleep in seems cold without my mate.

I toss and turn for hours before exhaustion finally set in and I fell asleep

rather quickly. I was floating around in the darkness until I started to

think about Skylar and that's when everything around me changed.

Instead of darkness I was in a clearing with sunlight streaming in

through the tops of the trees that surrounded the area. There was a

large lake about 40 feet away from me, as I looked around the area in

wonder that's when I heard her voice but I couldn't pinpoint exactly

where it was coming from as it seemed to be coming from everywhere.

I kept looking around as she giggled before she finally emerged from

the shadows of the trees with the biggest smile on her luscious lips. I

stood frozen for a few seconds before I ran over to her and wrapped

my arms around her hugging her to me as I breathed in her wonderful

apple cinnamon scent letting it wash over me and calm my frayed

nerves before I kissed her plump pink lips rough and deep as we

melded together in pure bliss.

She was the first one to pull away breathless as she pressed her

forehead to mine and gazed into my eyes for what seemed like an

eternity before she finally spoke.

"Oh Jace how I've missed you!" she exclaims as she gives me another

kiss

I reached a hand up and cupped her face in my hand, "Oh baby girl I've

missed you so much and now that I found you we can't seem to figure

out what is wrong with you or how to wake you" I tell her as tears well

up in my eyes

"Jace I know and I also know why I'm like this the Moon Goddess

visited me and helped me to understand what was going on with me"

Sky tells me as she wiped away the few stray tears that fell from my

eyes

"Really please love tell me so I can go and be able to do everything I

can to wake you up from this so we can finally be together” I plead with

her

"Vance had a witch come and make him a sleeping potion and he

injected me with it when I got the wolfsbane injection the day you

came and got me" I tell him

"Okay I will do everything in my power to undo it. I love you so much

baby and I can't wait for us to be able to go home to our baby girl" I

say as I hold her face between my hands and that's when I notice the

shift in her once I mentioned our daughter

"What's the matter my love?" I ask cautiously

"After the Moon Goddess told me about what was wrong with me she

also told me something about Lilith" I tell him as I start to cry

uncontrollably as he holds me tighter in his arms

"Shhhh it's okaii darling we will get through everything that comes our

way and you don't have to tell me right now if you don't want to" he

coos at me while rubbing my back and placing soft kisses on my

forehead as he comforted me

"You have to know and if I wait to tell you I might not remember it to

be able to tell you so I'd rather tell you now instead of waiting. The

Moon Goddess told me that one of the men that took me injected our

little girl with vampire venom and vampire blood and that usually those

would be lethal to any wolf. She told me since we both have alpha

blood and since I'm a Hell Hound that combination in her made it so

that her body didn't reject them but absorbed and embraced them

which accelerated her growth, development and aging. The Goddess

also told me since all those things are enhanced it means that her life

span has also been shortened drastically meaning she will only live half

the time if not less then she normally would if they never did that to

her. She said for us to spend as much time with her as we can before

she leaves this world, our poor little girl we will out live her and it's not

fair to her and it's all my fault that this happened to her I feel like I

failed as her mom" I cry out into his shoulder as he holds me even

closer to him trying to comfort me

"We will do whatever we can for her even if it's just spending as much

time with her as we can but I will be looking for any sort of way to try

and save her. I hate to have to leave you baby but I need to wake up

and get things going so I can wake you up as soon as possible since

you have already been asleep for 2 and a half months now. I love you

Skylar and I will see you very, very soon my love I promise you that and

then once you are able to we will be going home to our little girl" I say

to her as I kiss her passionately as she deepens the kiss and turns it

from gentle to rough before we pull apart breathlessly

"I love you so very much Jace I can't wait to be able to hold you in my

arms” she whispers in my ear

"I love you Sky and I will see you soon I promise” I tell her before

kissing her again before everything goes black and I awake with a start

panting and covered in sweat as I jump out of bed and shower quickly

before I head to the main pack house to find Alpha Jason and tell him

what Skylar had said to me and explain to him how she did it. Once I

was done with my explanation he nods his head at me and tells me he

got a hold of a friend who is a witch and knows all about sleeping

potions and how to reverse them and how he will be here tomorrow

night at the latest to help wake Skylar from her sleep.
