Chapter 43

Skylar's POV

I just got out of the shower and was going to get dressed when a very

out of breath Candy rushed into my room locking the door behind her

before she turned to me and smiled. I handed her a bottle of water I

had from earlier this morning she drank her fill and caught her breath

before she finally spoke.

"Your mate's here with my pack, I told them to go and take care of

Vance while I came to get you myself as it wouldn't raise any

unnecessary suspicions while they did their thing.” Candy tells me. A

giant grin spreads across my face knowing that my mate is here to

rescue me from this horrid place finally. I rush into the closet and throw

on a black lace bra and panties, black leggings and a red cropped

sweater along with some socks and a pair of black studded ankle boots

that looked bad ass. I dried my hair and put on some light make up as

Candy brushed my hair for me, once she was done I left it down in it's

natural waves as I stood and turned to Candy.

"I'm ready let's go and find my mate so I can finally leave this place and

go home and see my little girl." I say to her as my eyes start to water

Candy grabs my hands in hers as she unlocks the door and I follow her

out into the hallway stumbling a little as I am still weak from the

wolfsbane injections I get everyday but this mornings dose seemed to

be a little more potent for some reason. We made out way down a

series of hallways until we came to a corner and heard screams and

growls coming from around the corner. I followed her around the

mansion noticing that I had not recognized any of my surroundings. We

were at what I assumed was the front doors of the mansion when I seen

her eyes glaze over mind linking someone before she focused and

turned to me.

"I just linked my Alpha to tell him I had you and where we are to get

someone to let your mate know where you are and that you are safe

with me.” She says to me as she wraps her arms around me to steady

me as I was swaying a little bit before I collapsed onto the floor getting

very dizzy as the edges of my vision started going black. I could her

Candy yelling my name and telling me to stay with her and that

someone was coming to help but eventually I couldn't focus on

anything she was saying as the darkness consumed me.

Jace's POV

As my gamma and I were moving the boxes from Vance's office out

into one of his many cars at a side entrance we found near the office.

As soon as we were done one of the Blue Willow wolves came running

at me letting me know that the Beta's mate had got my mate to the

front doors and then all of a sudden his eyes glazed over as a look of

worry settled onto his features as he turned to me with worry.

"Alpha Jace something has happened to your mate Candy is with her

and so is Alpha Jason and they are already on their way to the pack

hospital to find out what is wrong with her." he tells me

I get very worried and demand him to get in and drive me there

immediately, before I get into the vehicle I link the rest of my pack

letting them know what is going on and to meet Dalton at the

mansions front doors and making sure everyone is accounted for

before heading back to the Blue Willow pack house. I ask the wolf

beside me is their beta was still here and he said yes so I relay that to

my gamma and tell him to help Jason's beta with anything he needs

before they all head back. I tell the wolf to step on it and he does and

we make it to their pack hospital in record time. As soon as I step out of

the car I can smell her which both calms and worries me as I walk inside

I find Alpha Jason and his beta female Candy in the waiting room

pacing back and forth waiting to be told anything as they freeze when

they notice me standing there watching them with worry.

"What's happened I thought she was okay?" I ask concerned

"I don't know what's wrong with her she seemed fine when I got her.

She was stumbling slightly but I figured that was just from the

wolfsbane injections she was getting everyday but they must have done

something to the one she got today. The doctor is doing some tests

now and will come and get us when they know what's wrong with her."

the girl Candy tells me with sad eyes

"Thank you Candy for looking out for her all these months that she was

there I know she never would have been able to survive being there if it

wasn't for you. I am glad she had a friend like you to help take care of

her and help keep her sane. I don't know how we could ever repay you

for everything you have done for us.” I tell her as tears start to fall from

my eyes

"The only thing that I want you and her to do is to make it home safely

to your little girl and live happily for the rest of your lives.” She says to

me as she wraps me in a hug right before the doctor enters the waiting

area to address all of us.

"Alpha, Alpha Jace, Beta Female, there seems to be high traces of

wolfsbane in her system along with something else we are still running

tests to figure out what it is. We have given her an IV of fluids to keep

her hydrated. She is still asleep but you can come back and see her if

you'd like." The doctor tells us, I nod my head and we follow him back

to a room where I run to her side and grab her hand in mine and kiss

her knuckled before I place my forehead on hers and kiss every single

part of her face as I cry and talk to her hoping she can hear me and will

come back to me.

"Baby I'm here, you're safe and out of that awful place. I love you so

much love and I'm so sorry you had to go through all of that but I

promise you nothing like that will ever happen again just please don't

leave me. Come back to me baby I need you by my side and so does

Lilith our baby girl whose gotten so big just wait until you see her. She

needs you I need you please wake up baby I can't do this without you."

I tell her as the tears run down my face.

I don't know when the others left but I sat there at her bedside holding

her hand waiting for her to wake up. I did this everyday and every

night, the only times I left her alone was to go and eat and shower. The

doctor still doesn't know what's wrong with her and why she isn't

waking up. I am starting to fear the worst and thinking that she may

never wake up and I would have to go on without her. It's been a week

of her sleeping and not waking up and the doctors come in and draw

more of her blood to try and figure out what is going on and so far no

one knows why she isn't waking seeing as they can't find anything that

is causing it. It's going on day 14 so about 2 weeks and just as I am

starting to lose hope something miraculous happens and she starts to

stir and before I know it I see her eyes flutter open and look at me as

she finally wakes up and I thank the Goddess for not taking her and

bringing her back to me.
