Chapter 42

Lucy's POV

I awoken from my sleep by little hands tugging on my hair as I slowly

opened my eyes I looked over and seen Lilith playing with my hair. I sat

up feeling a little dizzy I grabbed my head and steadied myself before

trying to move again. Once I knew I was able to move normally I

grabbed Lilith and hugged her close to me when all of a sudden there

was a knock on the door and a man walked in and he had the most

gorgeous green eyes with short blonde hair and he was about 6'4 and

very well toned from what I could see through the skin tight V-neck

shirt he was wearing that hugged every dip and curve of his pecks and

abs. As I sat there drooling over him I didn't even notice when he went

from the doorway to sitting on the bed in front of me.

"Hello there gorgeous might I ask your name and who this little cutie

is?" he asked with a gentle smile playing on his gorgeous plump

kissable lips.

"Umm....uhhhh....I'm Lucy and this is Lilith or Lily for short" I stammer

"Lucy what a lovely name. I'm Tate by the way I'm the one that met you

at the border and carried you here after you passed out from

exhaustion." Tate told me

"How long have I been out for?" I ask curious

"Only about a day but don't worry I've been taking care of Lilith here

and she’s such a little cutie and everyone absolutely loves her. Is she

your daughter?” he asks looking away from me as I saw anger and

jealousy flash through his eyes before he looked away from me.

"No she isn't my daughter she's my Alpha and Luna's Daughter some

bad men were sent by another bad man to take her but my pack and I

were able to get her out and here for protection.” I tell him

"I know I'm your mate I heard you say it before I passed out" I say

blushing as he whipped his head towards me so fast I swear he

would've given himself whiplash.

"Oh well I'm glad you did you are gorgeous and I'm already falling for

you hard baby girl" Tate says as he cups my cheek with his hand as he

places a soft and gentle kiss on my lips before pulling away making a

small whine escape my throat.

"Come on love let's go and get you both fed" He says as he grabs Lily

from me before taking my hand and helping me up from the bed

before bringing us downstairs and into the kitchen to fix us something

scrumptious to eat even though all I wanted was him in every single

way I could have him. I stopped thinking like that before I jumped his

bones right here and right now because I had other things to worry

about like hoping that Jace and Skylar are all right and make it back

safely for Lilith's sake.

As we were eating the lovely and tasty lunch that my mate had

prepared for us I tried to mind link Jasper to see if we were still in

linking distance so I could tell him we were okay and to see if he had

heard anything.

“Jasper can you hear me?" I ask through the link, I waited a few minutes

and as I was about to give up I heard him loud and clear making me

sigh in relief that he was still alive.

“Lucy god I have been trying to reach you I was worried that something

happened to you guys’ he linked back

“I've been out for about a day but it's okay me and Lilith are safe we

made it to the Mystic Pack and I'm glad that you are alive’ I say back

smiling

I'm glad you guys made it there and are safe. How's Lilith doing has

she been good?" Jasper asks worriedly

“She's fine. Everyone here absolutely loves her and I found my mate he

happens to be Alpha Derek's Beta. Oh have you heard anything back

from Alpha Jace about what's going on and if they are okay or if they

had gotten Skylar back yet?" I ask out of curiosity

“Not yet but I will let you know as soon as I know but there's something

off about all of this that isn't sitting right with me about how those

guys got onto the territory again. Someone must have told them and

helped them get through our borders which means there has been a

traitor here from the beginning and I have a feeling I know who it is

considering I haven't seen him in a while.’ Jasper tells me with anger

“Okay stay safe Jasper I don't want another friend to die and don't

worry about us we will be fine. Just focus on bringing the traitor down

and link us when you hear anything from Jace stay safe and I'm so sorry

about Alex he was a good man and a good brother and a good friend" I

tell him as sadness laced my words

Yeah he was all of those and more and now he's with the Moon

Goddess and I hope he is happy where he is. Don't worry about me I

always stay safe and once I find anything out I'll let you know and I'm

happy for you finally finding your mate Lucy he is one lucky guy to

have you as a mate’ he links back before blocking the connection. Once

I'm done talking with Jasper I finish my lunch before heading into the

living room with Tate and Lilith where I see that they set up a spot for

her to play with toys and stuffed animals and things which made me

smile despite the deep sadness for the loss of my pack members.

Jasper's POV

After I awoke in the forest clearing I shifted and ran back to the pack

house and once I was there I shifted back and put some clothes on

before going into the pack house but as soon as I got there I heard

someone in the house and took a defensive stance before entering the

house ready to kill whoever it was. As I made my way in the front door

and towards the second floor where the scent was stronger I walked

into the room where Amber's dead body still was and that's when I

seen him. I stood there staring at him until he turned and finally noticed

I was there as he jumped back with a start seeing as I scared him for

some reason but what I didn't understand was where he has been this

entire time.

"What the fuck are you doing here and where have you been when we

were getting attacked again! Alex and Amber are fucking dead and

where the fuck were you besides not fucking here helping your pack

mates out! What the fuck were you doing while your pack mates were

being murdered huh?!" I scream at him demanding an explanation for

where he was and what he was doing while his pack mates were being

brutally killed. He just stood there staring at me with a look of shock

that slowly faded into a smirk as he started to laugh like seriously what

the fuck is wrong with this dude who betrays their pack like that. As I

stood there watching him laugh maniacally he stopped and turned and

jumped through the broken window and ran off into the forest like the

cowardly traitor he is. If I ever see him again I will not hesitate to kill the

sick bastard without a care in the world no matter what the Alpha says.
