Chapter 39

Vance's POV

For the past few days I have had the feeling that something was

coming and it wasn't a good feeling. I had sent me 3 best fighters back

to the Night Shade Pack to kidnap the alpha’s little girl as an insurance

policy against him if he dares to come against me and try to get his

mate back. I had gotten word 2 days ago that they had gotten to the

pack and have been waiting for the perfect time to attack and grab her.

Their daughter is a unique wolf considering I had them inject vampire

blood and venom into her before they left to bring Skylar here after she

gave herself up. I thought doing that would weaken her or even kill her

but she thrived from it as her body adjusted to it and accepted it which

made me want her and I will have her soon.

Jace's POV

It's been quiet here for the most part with one or two rogue attacks

every now and then. Lilith has been growing at an alarming rate as

Doctor Ramsay has been keeping track of her growth and everything

she looks like she is about a year/ year and a half old already and not

the few months that she actually is. I had been informed by someone in

town saying that they saw 3 strange men making their way to the pack

house and we have been on high alert since then. I knew it had to be

the guys that had attacked the first time and so we had made sure that

everything was in place for what ever was going to happen.

We had a nice secure area made for us to bring Lilith in case of any

type of an attack on the pack. I made sure that all of our patrols were

on high alert and were patrolling around the clock so no one could slip

by them. It's been hours since any of the patrols had checked in with

any of us. I link them to see what was going on but all I get back is

silence making my blood run cold. I grab Lucy and Lilith and bring them

into the basement of the pack house and bring them to a secure area

as I use the palm scanner and open a hidden door and put them in

there.

"Lucy stay here with Lilith and don't come out no matter what happens

you're only job is to protect Lilith." I tell her with worry lacing my words

"Jasper what's going on?" She asks me with fear evident in her eyes

"Something isn't right the patrols aren't answering me and I have a

feeling someone is here for Lilith. Promise me you won't come out no

matter what happens until either me or Alex comes to get you. If

neither of us come to get you then stay here until dark and then press

the big red button on the wall behind you, it will reveal a hidden

passage way that leads deep into the woods where you and Lilith can

escape and get as far away from here as you can. There is a survival

pack in here for you to take with you and a map showing you where to

go where you both will be safe and hidden until it's alright for you to

come back home." I tell her quickly before shutting the door and

making sure the scanner pad was hidden once again before I headed

up stairs to find the front door smashed open. I carefully walked around

the house until I heard yelling, growling and things being broken

coming from upstairs where Alex and Amber were.

Carefully I make my way to the noise and see Alex and Amber fighting

with the guys who had taken Skylar all those months ago. I see Alex

tackle one of them out the window and land on the ground with a thud

as they continue fighting. I turn and see the other two walking towards

Amber as they corner her and before she can do anything they both

lunge at her pinning her before they snap her neck killing her on the

spot. Rage floods by body as I shift and attack them stunning them as

they had no clue I was even here, I was able to kill one of them before

the other got a hold of me and broke a couple of my ribs. I get away

and jump through the broken window landing with a thud and

whimper I see Alex in the distance limping and trying his hardest to

take care of the wolf he was fighting but I could tell he was exhausted

and couldn't keep at it for too much longer.

I sprint towards my brother but before I can get to him he looks at me

sadly and mind links me.

“Jasper run brother, I am so sorry I couldn't help protect the others

please take care of them and make sure Lilith is safe. I love you

brother.’ Alex links me before shutting the link off as he tries to attack

the wolf he was fighting but he falls and the wolf kills him. He turns to

me watching me to see what I will do but before he does anything he

looks behind me and I can hear the other wolf I was fighting coming up

behind me I take off in a different direction making sure that they are

following me away from the pack house and away from Lucy and Lilith

so that they can get away.

“Lucy take Lilith and the emergency bag and go through the hidden

passageway and once you are out and in the forest run west and don't

stop until you find the Mystic Pack they will help you and keep you

both hidden and safe. I love you Lucy no please stay alive and keep

Lilith safe’ I link her before I block her out and make sure that I do

everything I can to give them enough time to get away not caring if I

live through this or not as long as they live I don't care what happens to

me. I've been running for an hour and a half now as I come across a

clearing exhausted I collapse not being able to stand any more as I shift

back to my human form I hear the two that were chasing me come up

behind me and shift as well before coming and kicking me in the ribs.

They grab me by my hair and punch me a few times before asking me

where Lilith is.

"Where are they?" the black hair blue eyed one growled at me

"They are long gone and you will never ever find them" I sneer at them

making them growl extremely pissed off

"If you don't tell us we won't hesitate to kill you" The brown haired

brown eyed one grinds out through his clenched jaw

"Kill me 1 don't care I will never ever tell you where they are” I spit at

them before they smirk at each other before one of them punches me

in the temple. They beat the fuck out of me and just when I think they

are going to kill me they just inject me with something and it burns like

fucking hell. Black spots are dotting my vision as I am slowly losing

consciousness. The last thing I hear is them saying something in my ear

before I see them turn and start walking away from me as I succumb to

the darkness completely.
