Chapter 37

Jace's POV

I woke up later in the morning and had some breakfast before Dalton

my gamma and I went to the pack house to meet with Alpha Jason and

his beta. I told my warriors to go to the training grounds and train for a

few hours to keep them in shape and to try and keep them busy while I

am talking with the Alpha. I get a resounded call of “Yes Alpha’ from

everyone before leave them to their training. Once we get to the pack

house I see someone standing outside the front door and I presume it

is Jason's beta waiting for us to bring us to Jason's office. We walk up

to the man who greets us bowing his head to me in respect as I did the

same to him before I asked him what his name is.

"Hello Alpha Jason's beta. May I know what your name is so I don't just

keep calling you beta or him." I say to him

"Of course Alpha Jace. I am Beta Dale Emerson." He replies

"Now if you two could follow me I will bring you to the Alpha's office so

we can start our meeting and plans on how to rescue your mate." He

says before turning and leading us to Alpha Jason's office to start our

meeting and planning session.

Once we were seated in Jason's office he filled us in on all the

information he had gathered on Alpha Vance over the years. Once we

were all caught up on everything we started to plan on what our next

steps were going to be about infiltrating his place and getting my mate

out safely. Alpha Jason had let us know that he had someone on the

inside of Vance's pack that has been feeding him information over the

years and not once has Alpha Vance clued into who was betraying him

He has killed multiple people who he has thought was the spy but

never actually got the spy as this person was very clever in keeping

their identity a secret from everyone there and has put suspicion on

other people to keep them off of their trail.

We were sitting there looking at a map of the mansion when all of a

suddenly my whole body was wracked with pain. I could feel this

immense pain radiating from my stomach and as it continued it kept

getting worse and worse. I layed on the floor panting and sweating as I

gritted my teeth through the pain. I was laying there for a good half

hour to an hour before the pain started to subside. I slowly sat up and

drank the entire contents of the bottle and once I was done I let my

gamma slowly help me up and into the chair I was sitting in before I

looked up at everyone and asked them what the fuck had just

happened to me.

"What the fuck just happened? Why was I in so much pain?" I asked no

one in particular as I looked around the room waiting for someone to

tell me what just happened to me. My gaze finally settled on Alpha

Jason and I stared at him hard before asking him directly.

"Alpha Jason do you know what just happened to me and if so then can

you please explain it to the group.” I ask in an irritated tone

"Well the thing is....it was the mate bond. One of you has betrayed the

mate bond by doing something with someone who is not their mate.”

He said looking anywhere but at me

"What the fuck are you implying Skylar would never ever do something

like that to me" I exclaim

"Well the thing is Alpha Vance is a sadistic prick and will do anything

and everything in his power to cause harm to mates. I know from my

informant that he has done things to women against their wills and I

am sure that he had just had some sort of sex with your mate to cause

you pain and to show that she is his and no one elses. He is a sick, sick

man and I have been working on a way to bring him down for a long

time now so I promise you we will bring this bastard down and get your

mate back alive just don't hold anything against her she has no choice

no matter how much she resists him he will always just force her and do

what he wants to and with her without caring about the fact that she is

a mated and marked wolf." He tells me with a sad yet angry expression

giving me a feeling that this Alpha Vance had done something to him

to make him want to bring him down.

We stayed in the office planning out the routes to get in and then to

get out and it took us all night to finally have a game plan. I only had to

endure one more bought of searing pain in my stomach which filled me

with rage knowing that my poor mate was being taken advantage of

against her will. Once the plans were made we all went our separate

ways to go and get some sleep because it was going to take a few days

to get the news to Alpha Jason's spy inside the enemy's territory and

then get a response back on when we can set out plans in motion.

Before I went back to the house my pack was staying in I decided to go

for a run and try to blow off some of this anger that has been building

up inside me ever since Skylar was taken from me.

I get home and find a ton of pictures and video's of my little angel but

unfortunately I missed my phone call with her and decide to message

Jasper and tell him to let him know I will be calling them when I wake

up so I can see my little girl since I missed the previous one and I just

miss her so much. I layed on my bed as the feeling of overwhelming

fear washed over me knowing it was what my mate was feeling right

now and I wished I could hold her and tell her everything was going to

be alright. I promise I will never ever leave her side ever again until the

day I die. I will never ever let something like this to happen to her again

as I feel extremely guilty that this had happened to her in the first place.

I love you Skylar and I will be coming to get you soon my love I saw to

the ceiling before I force myself to get some sleep so I have my full

strength to be able to save her from this nightmare.
