Chapter 32

Skylar's POV

I've been trapped here for a few months I think since I have no actual

clue how long it's been considering the first few days here had felt like

forever. I am only allowed to go to my room and the library seeing as I

was getting very agitated being cooped up in my room all the time and

only being able to leave when I was forced to have dinner with Vance.

Since I've been here I am finally allowed to leave my room and go to

the library. I made sure to memorize every little detail of the walk from

my room to the library. Every day and night I am still being injected

with wolfsbane the only difference with the nightly injection is that it's

laced with a sedative. I just have to hopefully survive long enough to

with hope become immune to the wolfsbane. Once I do start to build

up a tolerance to it I know I am going to have to pretend that it still

weakens me like it does now. I will escape from this prison no matter

what and no matter how long it takes me to do it. I will never give up

trying to get back to my family which is the only reason I am able to

keep my sanity and keep me pushing forward.

I just have to keep playing nice until the right time and opportunity

comes along for me to set my escape into motion. I was sitting in the

library reading the first book in the clockwork trilogy. I was really

enjoying it grateful I was finally able to go somewhere else other then

my room and the dining room. As I sat on a window bench reading my

book I heard the doors of the library open and in came a woman who

was extremely angry for some reason as she looked for someone.

"I know you're in here bitch, I can smell your scent all over the place.”

She yelled out as she started to roam around the library looking for me.

The library is very, very big and I was sitting in a high window on the

second floor of it. I could hear her walking around on the first floor and

I just sat where I was not willing to move as I listened to see if she get

any closer. I heard her growling out profanities as she looked around

not being able to find me making her even more angry. She eventually

started to climb the stairs that lead to the second floor where I was. She

kept looking and roaming around up and down the aisles searching for

me I watched from my hiding spot and held my breath as her foot

steps kept getting louder the closer they got to me.

Where I was sitting reading was in a little alcove that wasn't known at

first glance you really had to look for it and it was in one of the dark

corners of the library which I was very grateful for right now. I could

hear the woman still growling out more profanities and sniffing trying

to figure out where I was hiding but she eventually gave up. I listened

to her steps receding back down to the first floor and eventually I heard

as the library door slammed shut. Letting out the breath I was holding I

sighed and relaxed a little knowing I was once again alone but it made

me wonder why she was so angry and why she was looking for me.

I left my little hiding spot and made my way to the library doors, as

soon as I opened them I was greeted my a bright smile coming from

the only friend I had in this place Candy. I smiled back at her as we chit

chatted as we walked back to my room but before we could reach my

room Candy was slammed into the wall and was knocked unconscious.

Before I could even react to anything the attacker had their hand

wrapped around my throat as they slammed me against the wall hard

making my vision slightly blur and spots scatter across my vision. Once

my eyes were able to focus again I was able to finally see who it was

that had their hand around my throat. My eyes went wide when I

realized it was the woman from the library, she slammed me against the

wall again making a groan escape my lips from the pain.

"What's so fucking special about you you little fucking whore" the

woman ground out through gritted teeth.

Not being able to breath or say anything seeing as her hand was

cutting off my oxygen I was only able to stand there staring at her with

wide eyes as she continued her monologue.

"He is my mate mine but he rejected me for some little no body. Why

you what's so special about some backwater skank.” She kept going on

and on about I eventually tuned her out and tried my hardest to get

out of her iron grip. Since I kept getting injected with wolfsbane I didn't

have my strength so my struggling was pointless since I was no

stronger then a human. My vision started to blur again as I was losing

consciousness and before everything went completely black I heard a

very loud growl and then the hand was gone from my throat letting me

take a deep painful gulp of air as I slumped to the floor as the darkness

fully consumed me.

Jace's POV

I was sitting in my office doing paper work when 1 all of a sudden got a

very painful headache. The pain started at the back of my head and

then went down my back as well as I felt some sort of pressure on my

throat making it hard for me to take a deep breath. I fell to the ground

trying to stay calm and take a deep breath when I realized it was my

mates pain that I was feeling along with her fear. Someone was hurting

my mate and there was nothing I could do about it seeing as I still had

no clue as to where the fuck she was. I stayed like this for a little while

wheezing not being able to take a deep breath and then all of a sudden

the pain started to fade as I could breath again but I slumped to the

floor as everything around me went black.

I awoke laying on the couch in my office with my beta sitting in a chair

staring out the window waiting for me to wake up. I groan as I sit up

making his head snap to me I rub the back of my neck before I stretch

and look over at him.

"What the fuck happened to you? I came in to talk to you about

something and I found you passed out on the floor behind your desk" I

tells me concern lacing his words.

“It's fine Lucas I'm fine. I passed out because someone was hurting

Skylar by choking her and so I must have blacked out when she did." I

say barely above a whisper but I knew he heard me

"That's why I came in here to begin with one of our men found

something out about where Skylar might have been taken to.” He

informs me making my head snap up to look at him in the eyes so fast I

probably should have gotten whiplash.

"What did they find out tell me NOW!" I demand in my alpha tone

"Calm down Jace and they found out that the three men that took her

work for a very rich but very psychotic alpha.” He lets me know. I nod

my head to him encouraging him to continue.

He takes a deep breath before continuing on, "He knew someone in a

far away pack who has been after this alpha to take him down once and

for all since he is a threat to the werewolf world. He told us that his spy

was able to relay to him that the alpha had brought some girl in and

was treating her like a queen but kept her sedated with wolfsbane

injections.” he went on but knowing my mate was being injected with

wolfsbane made me and my wolf very angry.

Before I could say anything to him he raised his hand to stop me before

he talked again.

"I have already put transport together and we will be leaving for the

Blue Willow Pack in 2 hours they have more information about this

alpha and his compound and everything but it would be better to hear

it in person instead of through the grapevine. We have about 20

warriors coming along with us while the rest are staying behind. Dalton

will also be going with you as I will stay here and keep things under

control here while you are gone.” He tells me before standing up and

leaving the room but before he does he looks over his shoulder and

says something else.

"Go get ready you all leave in 2 hours for the airport and then from

there you will be getting on your jet and on your way to Atlanta where

the Alpha will be greeting you and taking you to his pack to get you all

settled in before you talk about everything the next day. Also don't

worry Jace we will get her back no matter what it takes and also don't

worry I have ordered the twins and the girls to be Lilith's permanent

guards and protectors and they assured me they will not let her out of

their sights even for a second and they also promised to call you every

night so you can talk with her and they will also be sending you

pictures and videos of her everyday.” He informs me before leaving me

alone in my office. I let everything sink in before I get up to go and

pack my bags and spend time with my daughter before I have to leave

to go and hopefully find and bring home my mate, and mother of my

daughter. I am coming for you Skylar my love.
