Chapter 24

Vance's POV

"Oh my darling Skylar not to much longer now and you will be mine” I

say to myself as I was sitting at my desk looking at a picture of her. I

have been sending notes at random. I have also been sending rogues

who have allied with me to their territory to camp there and watch

them until it is time for me to go and claim what is rightfully mine.

Some of my pack members think I'm crazy going after someone who

they believe doesn't belong to me but she does.

My parents died when I was young and so I was raised by my uncle

who was the alpha of the our pack which is the Midnight Pack. He was a

cruel man and he taught me everything I know and and made me the

man I am today and I am grateful for him. He used to tell me a story of

a very rare wolves called Hell Hounds, they were the strongest, fiercest

types of wolves that ever lived. Until one day when an Alpha went

completely power hungry and crazy and sought them out to take one

as his mate but he was so crazed and everyone refused him he

slaughter nearly every single one of them almost making them extinct.

A few got away and hid themselves away from the world so that they

wouldn't be hunted and killed because of what they were. After hearing

so many stories about them I knew I wanted to have one as my mate to

have her bear my children and adding the Hell Hound bloodline to my

own to strengthen it and make future generations better and stronger.

Skylar's POV

We have been receiving threat after threat and the rogues have been

attacking more and more lately as well over these past 3 months. My

belly has been growing at a steady rate, I am now 8 and a half months

pregnant and the doctor says that I am due any day now seeing as my

baby girl is healthy now it's just a waiting game. We still don't know

who this Vance person is but he is determined to get me and claim me

as his own no matter what. I am scared for what is to come once I have

my baby girl, I don't want anything bad to happen to her or to my

mate. No one knows that I am thinking about handing myself over after

I have my baby so that no one gets hurts but I know Jace will try to

stop me and our daughter needs at least one of us.

Everyone has been on edge lately with everything that is going on. Jace

and I are sitting in the kitchen having dinner talking and just enjoying

our time together. I stand up and put my dishes in the dishwasher

when I suddenly feel liquid running down my legs. I look up at Jace

with fear and excitement in my eyes.

"I think my water just broke" I say to Jace

"Really are you sure?” Jace asks me looking concerned. As I'm standing

there about to say something when I feel a slightly painful pressure go

through my abdomen and I realize it's a contraction.

"Yes I'm sure seeing as I just had a contraction. I'm in labor our baby

girl is finally going to be here" I say holding the counter.

"Baby get our stuff and get the car ready we need to go to the pack

hospital” I say looking at him as another contraction goes through my

body making me slightly clench my jaw. Jace runs out of the room and

grabs mine and the baby's bag that we had prepared before hand for

this kind of situation,

Once the car was ready Jace came back to the kitchen to help to the car

seeing as I didn't trust myself to walk without some support. Once we

got in the car Jace sped to the pack hospital which only took us 10

minutes even though to me it felt like forever.

He parks and grabs our bags before helping me inside and into a

wheelchair so I didn't have to walk anymore. A nurse comes over to us

and brings us to a room and helps make sure I'm as comfortable as I

can get before she leaves to go and get the doctor. About 10 minutes

of laying there sweating and gritting my teeth through every

contraction while I hold onto Jace's hand making him wince every now

and then from the amount I'm squeezing it.

"It's okay baby girl I'm right here. Everything is going to be alright” Jace

says to me as he strokes my hair trying to help me through this the best

that he can.

"I love you so much Sky" he says in my ear as another contraction

comes and goes.

"I love you too baby" I say back to him through shallow breaths. Then

the doctor finally comes in to see how everything was progressing and

it was finally time for me to start pushing. After another 20 minutes of

contractions and pushing my baby girl was finally here and she was

perfect. I layed there with her in my arms staring down at our perfect

little girl. She had my facial features and her fathers beautiful light blue

eyes and she had a mix of blonde and black hair making her very

unique like her parents.

I hand her to Jace and watch as he holds her cooing and bouncing her

as he walked around the room. As I watched Jace holding our baby

exhaustion from being in labor for so long had finally consumed me

and dragged me down into the darkness. I awoke a couple hours later

to people talking in the room. I wake up and see a bunch of people in

my room all talking and arguing about who gets to hold our little girl

next. I lay there watching the spectacle before I laugh making everyone

shift their attention to me.

"You're finally awake" I hear Jace say from the doorway. When I look

over to him I see him holding some to go bags of food and my mouth

starts to water as my stomach growls at the smell. Jace laughs and

walks over to me and gives me my food before turning to the give

everyone else their food and grabbing our baby while everyone eats

and chitchats.

"So have you guys thought of a name for the little one?" Lucy asks

"Yeah we would love to know it or are we supposed to call her the baby

or little one forever?” Jasper asks with a smirk making everyone laugh.

"She has a name we decided it a couple weeks ago we just never told

anyone” I say to them between bites.

"So are you guys going to tell us or not?" Alex asks impatiently. I smile

and look at Jace and nod my head to him to tell them.

"Okay everyone we would like to introduce you to Lilith Ophelia Miller.

You can call her Lilith or Lily for short.” Jace tells them. They all look at

her with adoration and love in their eyes.

"It's perfect and suits her well" Lucas says taking her from Jace so he

could eat.

I had to stay at the hospital for a few days to make sure everything was

okay with Lilith and I. We finally get discharged and on our way back to

the pack house so I can relax and put Lily to bed in her crib. When we

finally pull up to the house the air is stiff and there seems to be an odd

electricity in it putting me on edge. We get our things and head inside

as a warrior puts our stuff into my room and I go and put Lilith in her

crib before I go to Jace's office and see what the hell is going on. As

soon as I walked in it went eerily quiet, as I walk over and sit on Jace's

lap and place the monitor on his desk I look at Lucas his beta and he

has a grim expression on his face. The look he had on his face made a

cold chill run down my spine and an uneasy feeling in the pit of my

stomach telling me I was not going to like what they had to tell me.
