Chapter 20

Jace's POV

I was out helping the patrols deal with the increase in rogue attacks. I

have been out here fighting and helping deal with them and then all of

a sudden they just stopped almost like someone called them off which

was weird especially for rogues. Since they were gone I was finally able

to go back to the pack house and shower all the mud, dirt, and blood

off of me, I noticed that Skylar wasn't around when I saw a note on the

bed letting me know that she went for a drive to the mall and would be

back soon. I shower and get dressed in some black jeans, a grey t-shirt,

and some black high top shoes, as soon as I was dressed I get a mind

link from Skylar for me to meet her in the clearing behind the pack

house. Once I got that I basically ran down the stairs and bounded

across the back yard heading for the path that led to the clearing.

Once I get on the path I slow my pace a little bit excited to see my mate

and to find out why she wanted me to meet her out here when the

clearing comes into sight I can see Skylar sitting on a fallen log in a

beautiful simple blue sundress with blue wedges on staring out across

the little pond that was in the middle of the clearing. After I stood there

admiring my gorgeous mate for a little bit longer I decide to finally

walk over to her and grab her into a big hug and kiss her on the cheek.

"Hellos gorgeous how was your day?" I ask her turning her around so I

can gently kiss her plump pink lips.

"It was productive and eventful” She says kissing me back with a little

more force then I did.

"Eventful huh. So why don't you tell me what was so eventful about it

darling” I ask her out of sheer curiosity. She pulls away blushing as she

starts to fidget with her fingers.

"Well I do have some news for you and I also have a gift for you as

well" she says staring at the ground

"Okaii well what is the news then darling, you know you can tell me

anything: I reassure her grabbing her hands in mine.

"I know baby but before I tell you the news I want you to open the gift I

have for you first." She says to me finally looking me in the eyes. She

makes me sit on the log before handing me the mystery gift as she

kneels on the ground in front of me. I look at her curiously for a few

moments before I start taking out the tissue paper and putting it on the

ground beside me and then I pull out a little pair of booties, then a little

pair of mittens, followed by some weird looking pictures, and finally I

pull out a piece of black clothing that I turn over and unfold seeing that

the front of it says “Daddy's Little Monster on it with a little monster on

it. I look at Skylar who has a giant smile on her face as she looks back at

me with so much love and happiness swirling around in her beautiful

eye's that are on the verge of tears.

"Darling does this mean what I think it means?" I ask her so quietly I

didn't think she heard me but she did.

"Yes it does baby, I'm pregnant. You're going to be a father.” Skylar says

to me nodding her head in happiness as the tears start falling down her

flushed cheeks. I smile so wide that it hurts and I grab her and spin her

around laughing. As I put her down and hug her close I kiss her so hard

with happiness she starts to cry even more. When we finally pull away I

realize the most obvious thing in the world that I was surprised that

neither of us caught on to it before.

"So that would explain why you kept getting sick over these past few

months" I say looking down at her

"Yeah I guess so. I just thought it was because of the full moon and the

transformation that the possibility of me being pregnant didn't even

cross my mind" Sky says resting her head on my chest. I gather up all of

our things and we hold hands as we head back to the pack house

agreeing to keep this between the two of us for a little bit before we

tell the pack since we will be going back to our pack in a couple of days

since our work here is done and since Skylar is now pregnant I want to

be at home where I know I can protect her better from this unknown

threat.

Over the next few days I make sure that Alpha Spencer and all his

wolves are aware of the threat against Skylar and that we will be

heading home soon seeing as the Silver Moon Pack doesn't need our

help anymore. Once that is done I go to my room to find Skylar passed

out on the bed with her hands on her belly. I admire my beautiful mate

before going to our closet to start packing up our things so that we will

be ready to go home as soon as we can. It took forever to finish

packing but it was all done and we headed down to our last dinner

here where I made sure that all of my pack members were also packed

and ready to head home in the morning. As the morning rolls around

we pack everything into the vehicles we came in and start our long

journey back to the Night Shade Pack to see the loved ones some of us

have been away from and to also see our fellow pack and extended

family members.

We have been back to our pack for about 3 months now and neither us

nor the Silver Moon Pack have heard anything from the unknown threat

who wants to kill me and take my Skylar from me. I was working in my

office doing my alpha duties and trying to figure out who would want

Skylar or who would want to hurt me and I just couldn't come up with

anything, which frustrated me even more then I was already when

suddenly Skylar walk into my office reminding me that we have a baby

appointment today.

"Hi honey you ready to get going to our appointment?" She asks me

while she rubs her ever growing baby bump.

"Yes darling I'm ready to go and I can't wait to see our little babe and to

find out if we are having a little me or a little you" I say to her as I place

my hand on her belly as I give her a quick peck on the lips before we

head out. It only took us 10 minutes to get to the pack hospital and

when we got there we were brought back to a room right away seeing

we were the Alpha and Luna of the pack.

"Hello Alpha, Luna I am Doctor Victor Ramsay. So how are we doing

today?" the doctor asks us.

“I'm fine doctor" I answer back

"I'm doing as good as I can be while growing a little wolf inside of me"

Skylar jokes making everyone in the room smile and laugh.

"Alright let's take a look at the little one shall we." Doctor Ramsay says

lifting Skylar's shirt past her protruding belly and put the cold gel on

her and the he starts to move the wand around. I sit in chair beside the

bed Skylar is on holding her hand as the doctor does his thing watching

the screen and seeing our baby making me smile.

"Do we want to know the sex of the baby?" he asks us

"Am I far enough along to find out?" Skylar asks him before I could

"Yes as far as I can tell you are 5 and a half months along almost 6

months” He tells us before moving the wand around some more before

finally finding the spot he was looking for.

"Congratulations Alpha and Luna you are going to be the proud

parents of a beautiful and healthy baby girl.” Doctor Ramsay tells us

making us both smile and cry at the fact that we are going to have a

baby girl.

"Well we better prepare ourselves for having a mini me running around

here soon" Skylar says to me as she wipes her tears away.

"Yeah I can just imagine it, but I wouldn't change it for the world" I say

to her as I gently kiss her soft plump lips.
