Maybe you weren't all that bad

Just like how right now isn't all that bad

Maybe I was just lost in my own head

Overwhelmed by all that I would soon do

Now I'm here and underwhelmed constantly

Dreams don't always come true.

Good guys don't always get happy endings.

Later you realize it was because the  good guy was never you .
