Ramir opened his eyes with the rising sun. He was surronded by white fur and a snoozing wolf. He patted the good boy who opened his eyes and started his day with a big yawn. Farkas snugled his head to Ramir's lap.
"Good morning big boy! Did you sleep well?"
Farkas let out a high-pitched noise. The emerald-tailed wolfs were a present given by Dime to Ramir and Nalaka's team. She told them that the wolfs will be better for travelling than horses. She was right. They didn't need stables they could sleep wherever whenever; they could eat what the team haunted during their travels so the logistics were easyer. They also weren't afraid of fights and loyally protected their owner. One more thing to thank Dime.
Ramir often wondered how the Ladyâs upbringing was to become the leader he knew her to be. Was it sheltered and was she taught by the greatest teachers of the continent or did she grow up on the streets and learned from the thugs along the way? He actually didn't know that much of her. She was always this mysterious person in his life. He hasnât even seen her face once only the black mask she wore. He also knew that although she was kind to them, her ambitions were big and greedy. But honestly, he didn't care that much about it. They got a secund chance from her and that is all that mattered.
"Get up kid, after breakfast we should get ready to go back."
Nalaka greeted him with tired eyes. Her neck was full of kiss marks and bites, but she seemed unbothered. Her long black hair was braided loosely.
"You too Farkas, don't sleep in."
"Awoo..."
"Don't start this big boy you know Nalaka is right."
Ramir patted the wolf's head and went in to eat something. The inside was buzzing with guests. Ever since the rumor started spreading that you can get healthcare in Thaleds for cheap more and more people flooded in. Ramir sat next to the group of dark elves. He didn't say much just ordered from the waitress who was in a similar state like Nalaka.
-They must have had a long night of...
Ramir's train of toughs stopped there. The team joked around the table as they eat and Ramir also got his spirits up, becoming the focus of the conversation telling silly stories to the rest.
Before they set out the Doc gave them a stack of paperwork.
"Hope this would be of help for the Master and Mira. Tell her that she should visit soon."
Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon.
"I will, don't worry Doc."
Nalaka took the papers and waved goodbye to him. They could travel faster with the nearly empty carriage. On the border of Norning the team split in two. Nalaka and Ramir went to the mansion the rest back to the storage with the wolfs.
"Wonder how she's doing, it was full moon last night..."
"I'm sure she's fine, it's not like her first time dealing with the pink disaster."
"But how do you know her Nalaka? Have you met her?"
"Not personally, but my people believed in her and prayed for her a lot so I heard this and that. She is quite the troublemaker."
Ramir thought about how can gods be so humanlike. He imagined them to be like Dime, mysterious, wise and unpredictable. Seems like that's not always the case.
They stood in front of the entrance door, but the mansion felt too quiet. They found nobody downstairs, so they climbed the stairs.
"Hello brother and welcome Nalaka. The Lady is getting dressed so please wait downstairs."
"Mira!"
Nalaka lifted the girl who tried to resist but couldn't. She was carried down and sat on Nalaka's lap, who gave pecks on her head and cheeks.
"Oh honey, I missed you soooo much. My only treasure in this world."
"Says the person who has hickeys all over. Now let go of me."
Mira rolled her eyes as she pointed out Nalaka's state. But the dark elf just smiled even more.
"Hah that icy stare just makes me even more exited. Even if I was with someone else, I only thought of you I swear. She doesn't mean anything to me. But I must somehow control myself until you come of age my love. Please be understanding of this fool."
"Haha..."
Ramir just laughed awkwardly. The Boss' admiration to his sister was special to say at least. Even he didn't know when was she joking and when did she mean what she was spouting.
Mira looked defeated and just let the buff woman adore her. She didn't have to endure it long however, because soon Dime appeared in the hall.
"Nalaka please don't break the heart of our Mira. She is a good girl, so she puts up with a lot."
"My Lady happy to see you in good health. I don't intend on hurting her in any way once I have her."
"Yeah sure. Ramir take your sister back to her room."
Ramir just took silently Mira from the embrace of the elf who was unwilling to comply, but Dime shot her an icy gaze and she let go.
"So now that the kids are out of the way we should talk."
"Yes, my Lady. These are the papers the Doc sent. Also, he said that you should go for a tour in the village, you have more fans that you could imagine."
Dime glanced trough the papers at a fast pace. Nalaka was a little uncomfortable around her. But that was exactly her intention.
"Okay I somewhat grasped the situation, I already planned to go there sometime. How was Ramir?"
"We had to take out some thrash on our way there, so he got a little too excited. But other than that, it wasn't much."
"That's great. The other thing I wanted to talk about is some military business."
"What, you too want to buy the dogs on the north?"
Dime mouth curled into a bloodcurdling smile.
"No quite the opposite... I'll take the south."
Nalaka's eyes widened. She heard some rumors about the righteous Commander Patrick. He was said to be the hero of the Last Crack.
"What? I mean from that geezer. How?"
"I have my ways...that's the reason I called for you. I assume you still like trouble?"
Nalaka's eyes gleamed with excitement.
"My Lady, trouble is my middle name. Please count me in."
