Chapter 2639: Entering The Battlefield

Yun Lintian shuttled through the horde of creatures of chaos, brandishing his spear fiercely. Linlin and Qingqing also helped from the side, eliminating the fish that slipped through the net. After fighting for an entire hour, Yun Lintian finally had a chance to take a breather.

"Phew..." Yun Lintian let out a long breath, scanning the surroundings in case he had missed something. All the creatures of chaos there had been completely destroyed.

"That was fun," Qingqing said, wiping the sweat off her forehead. It was the first time she had engaged in such an intense battle.

Linlin was no different. Her white fur was soaking wet.

Looking at the two, Yun Lintian smiled apologetically. "I'm sorry. Big brother should have called more people over."

Linlin smiled and said, "This is actually good. We haven't had such intense exercise for a long time."

Under Yun Lintian's overprotection, Linlin and Qingqing rarely got a chance to display their power. This battle was definitely the best experience for them.

Yun Lintian chuckled and said, "Well, we can't go on like this. I have underestimated them." He waved his hand, and the Gate of Beyond Heaven appeared. He then sent a voice transmission to Yun Ruanyu.

Soon, Yun Ruanyu, Yun Qianxue, Yun Lingwei, Yun Huanxin, and the other disciples of the Misty Cloud Sect walked out of the gate.

Yun Ruanyu scanned the surroundings briefly and said with a hint of blame, "You should have called us over earlier."

Yun Lintian smiled as he responded, "I'm sorry. I just couldn't change my personality." Even though he was aware that raising a flower in a greenhouse wasn't good, he just couldn't bear to see them take a risk. Yun Lintian would rather risk his life to eliminate all the threats for them.

Yun Ruanyu looked at the Ancient Battlefield's entrance and asked, "Are you going alone?"

Yun Lintian shook his head. "I will take everyone with me this time. However, we need people to guard this place."

Yun Ruanyu thought for a moment and turned to Yun Lingwei. "Lingwei, you will guard this place."

"Ah, fresh meat!" one of the Shadow Demons hissed, its voice a grating rasp that echoed through the ruined city. "Welcome to the Ancient Battlefield, Yun Lintian. We've been

expecting you."

Yun Lintian's eyes narrowed as he surveyed the scene. The creatures of chaos were clearly waiting for him, their numbers far greater than he had anticipated.

Yun Lintian's grip tightened on the White Dragon Spear as he stepped forward, his companions fanning out behind him. The air crackled with tension, the oppressive aura of the Ancient Battlefield pressing down on them like a suffocating blanket.

The Shadow Demons and Void Creatures hissed and snarled, their forms shifting and writhing as if they were made of pure darkness.

"Expecting me, huh?" Yun Lintian said, his voice calm but laced with a dangerous edge. "I hope you've prepared well. I wouldn't want this to be too easy."

The Shadow Demon leader, a towering figure with jagged, obsidian-like armor and glowing red eyes, let out a guttural laugh. "Arrogant as always, Yun Lintian. But arrogance won't save you here. This is our domain, and you are nothing but an intruder."

Yun Lintian smirked, his eyes glinting with a mix of amusement and determination. "We'll see about that."

Without another word, he surged forward, the White Dragon Spear blazing with divine energy and chaos power. The Shadow Demon leader roared, meeting Yun Lintian's charge with a massive, shadowy blade that seemed to devour the light around it.

BOOOOM!

The two clashed in a burst of energy, the shockwave sending ripples through the air and causing the ground to tremble.

Yun Ruanyu and the others didn't hesitate. They moved as one, engaging the horde of Shadow Demons and Void Creatures with precision and ferocity. Yun Qianxue's sword danced like a serpent, cutting through the darkness with ease.

Yun Ruanyu and the others also showed their strength, suppressing their opponents.

As Yun Lintian dueled the Shadow Demon leader, he noticed something strange. The creature's movements were erratic, its attacks powerful but unfocused. It was as if it was holding back, or perhaps... stalling.

"Why are you really here?" Yun Lintian demanded, his spear deflecting a vicious slash from the Shadow Demon's blade. "What are you trying to hide?"

The Shadow Demon leader sneered, its red eyes glowing brighter. "You'll find out soon enough, Yun Lintian. But by then, it will be too late."
