Myth Beyond Heaven
Chapter 2603: Merciless (3)

Mo Xie, his body a mangled ruin, his life force hanging by a thread, saw a glimmer of hope in Yun Lintian's words. He gathered what little strength he had left, his voice a raspy whisper.
"Heal me," he rasped, his voice a fractured echo of its former booming power. "Heal me first, and I will tell you everything. Everything about the Lord of Chaos, Yao Huang, and the God of Fate."
Yun Niu, her face pale with a mixture of fear and fury, stepped forward. "Big Brother Yun, don't listen to him!"
Yun Lintian, however, remained unmoved. His gaze, sharp as the edge of his Heaven Piercing Sword, was fixed on Mo Xie. He could sense the truth in the Ancient Devil God's words, a desperate sincerity born of utter defeat. Yet, he also recognized the cunning that still flickered within that single, bloodshot eye.
He ignored Yun Niu's warning, his focus solely on Mo Xie. He raised his hand, and a soft, green light emanated from his palm. It was the power of the Tree of Life, a power of creation and restoration, a stark contrast to the destructive chaos he had just unleashed.
The green light enveloped Mo Xie's broken body. Wounds began to close, severed limbs slowly regenerated, and the chaotic energy that had ravaged his form was gradually purged. Mo Xie gasped and shuddered as his body mended, the agonizing pain slowly receding, replaced by a strange, unfamiliar sensation of wholeness.
Yun Niu's face turned pale. As she was about to say something, Long Xi suddenly came to her side and stopped her.
Mo Xie's gaze shifted to Yun Lintian, his eyes filled with a mixture of fear and awe. "You... you are his successor. The inheritor of the God of Fate's power. And now... the Lord of Chaos sees you as an even greater threat than Yun Tian ever was."
Yun Lintian's eyes narrowed slightly, but he remained silent, allowing Mo Xie to continue.
"The Lord of Chaos... he is not just a being of power... he is a manifestation of the universe itself," Mo Xie explained, his voice growing more urgent. "To defeat him... you must first understand the nature of Chaos."
Yun Lintian's expression remained cold, but his mind was racing. The pieces of the puzzle were slowly coming together, but there were still gaps in his understanding.
Mo Xie, now partially healed and with a flicker of strength returning to his broken body, continued to speak. His voice was low, but each word carried weight, as if he were unraveling secrets that had been buried for eons.
"Yao Huang..." Mo Xie began, his tone laced with disdain. "He is the inheritor of the God of Darkness, the supposed master of all devils. But let me tell you this, Yun Lintian-he is nothing more than a pretender. A fool with lofty ambitions but no real ability to back them up."
Yun Lintian remained silent.
"Yao Huang inherited the God of Darkness' power, yes," Mo Xie sneered, his voice dripping with contempt. "But his mind... his thinking... it is no better than that of an ordinary mortal. He schemes and plots, but his plans are shallow, his vision limited. He lacks the depth and understanding to truly wield the power he possesses. He is a puppet, dancing on the strings of the Lord of Chaos, thinking himself a master when he is nothing more than a pawn."
Mo Xie's single eye gleamed with a mixture of bitterness and mockery. "Do you know why I sealed the Azure World away? It was not just to trap you or to weaken your people. It was to force you out, to draw you into the open. Yao Huang feared you, Yun Lintian. Your strength grew too quickly, far beyond his expectations. He could not comprehend how a mere mortal, an inheritor of the God of Fate, could rise to such heights in such a short time. It terrified him."
