Thor was overwhelmed not only because everyone bowed their heads at him including Freyja, but also because of the power that ran through his veins as he held Gungnir in his hand. He tried to stay calm because he didnât want to look weak or emotional in front of them.
âIâm your king, but only for a moment at least until my father recovered. I will do what I must and I solemnly promise I will protect the nine worlds from any threat,â Thor said with a serious expression.
Mykel, Loki, Hel, and Freyja looked at the notification that appeared in front of them. It was a notification that the head of The Chariot Arcana faction had stepped down from position, Odin Borson had decided to let go of his position as the head of the Chariot Arcana.
Only a few of them got the notification because not all the Gods and Goddesses of Norse Mythology joined the Constellations. They would rather help their own people in Midgard by offering their blessings instead of using Arcana Coins which they thought would be a waste of wealth.
Mykel looked at Loki and raised his eyebrow to signal him for another meeting to vote on the new head for the Chariot Arcana.
Everyone was on their knees and bowing their heads at Thor. The only one who didnât lower his head or go on his knees was Mykel, and Thor looked at him as he nodded his head.
In the end, they all had a feast in Valhalla since it was the right thing to do to celebrate their new king. Mykel joined the party, but he didnât participate like how Loki dances in the hall with his nephews and niece. He was enjoying his mead on the side of the hall on his own as he observed the Gods and Goddesses.
Mykel grabbed his cigarette and lit it up as he walked up the throne.
âKing Thor, can I have a moment?â Mykel said with a smile on his face.
Thor looked at Mykel and nodded his head.
They both walked down the throne and went to the corner to have a private talk.
âLetâs cut to the chase because I donât want to bother you with something trivial,â Mykel said as he watched the Gods and Goddesses start to act like dunkards. âAre you interested in joining the Constellation?â Mykel asked as he looked Thor in the eye.
âThe Constellation? I havenât thought about it, but after what happened back there, I think I will consider it,â Thor answered.
âYou should join the Constellation now before itâs too late,â Mykel said.
Thor sighed as he raised his eyebrows. âThatâs so sudden and I donât think I can do that since my hands are full right now,â Thor replied as he crossed his arms. âI will join when I feel like it,â Thor said as he stared at Mykel.
âThat shouldnât be a problem because your father can do it, then you should be able to do the same. Itâs not like joining the Constellation will affect you that much,â Mykel replied as he puffed the smoke.
âMy father warned me to be wary and cautious around you, Mykel,â Thor said with a serious expression.
Mykel raised his eyebrows as he stared back at Thor.
âIâm telling you this because I want to build a relationship where we can work together. Rather than using each other, I want us to help each other when needed, and we donât owe each other for anything,â Thor continued with a bit of an uncomfortable look on his face.
âI do believe and am aware that youâre using me so you can achieve something from this, of me becoming the king of Asgard. Iâm doing this not because you asked me to or Loki did, but because I believe my father has done wrongdoings that I donât want the people of my worlds to suffer because of it,â Thor explained as he swirled the mead in the cup in his hand.
âI donât want to be used like how you did to those Gods, and I donât want to bow my head to anyone because I still believe that we both stand equally. Itâs my only request and if you canât do that or think that you can deceive me, then I must make you my enemy,â Thor said, and then he took a deep breath and exhaled deeply.
âOf course,â Mykel answered without hesitation.
Thor was surprised that Mykel answered without hesitation.
âDonât worry, Iâm not going to use you because there are not many Gods like you, Thor. Using you is the last thing I want to do because youâre brave, loyal, and the only God I know who genuinely wants to protect not only your people but the mortals,â Mykel answered with a serious expression.
âYou said that Odin wants you to be wary and cautious about me, and the answer to that is you have to. Not only to me but to everyone as well. Thatâs a must thing to have as someone who holds power over the others, but you have to keep it to yourself and donât let them know that youâre cautious around them,â Mykel explained as he leaned on the wall.
âYou think Iâm not cautious to Hera, Athena, Aphrodite, or the others? Loki? Especially Loki because I canât trust him fully. Both Loki and I are aware of each other, but that doesnât mean we canât build a relationship over it,â Mykel said and looked at Loki who was so carefree but deep down he had been stealing glances at him.
âYouâre the most benevolent God I know, Thor. Iâm a fool if I think I can use your kindness for my own benefit because losing you is far greater than losing thousands of Gods on my side. Iâm not trying to flatter you because Iâm telling you the truth,â Mykel said. âSo, remember this, I will not use or try to deceive you and thatâs something that I can promise to you,â Mykel continued as he stared Thor in the eye.
âThe reason why I asked you to become the king of Asgard was for the same reason that you have. Itâs better for you to replace him because I know you wonât make the same mistake as Odin did, and of course, thereâs another reason for that,â Mykel said. âI want you to join the Constellation because Iâm going to need your help to fight him,â
Thor was moved by Mykelâs words and could see that Mykel was being genuine with his words. He thought about it for a moment, and Mykel didnât want to try to pressure him anymore.
âIf thatâs the case then I will join the Constellation,â Thor said.
The moment Thor said that, a system appeared in front of him. A screen that he had never seen before suddenly appeared. He was so confused when he saw it and tried to touch it, but he couldnât.
âBy the look of it, it seems like you have joined the Constellation. Congratulation,â Mykel said with a smile on his face as he watched Thor make a funny expression and reaction to the system.
Thor was so confused and looked at the skills he had that he never thought he possessed. Suddenly a notification appeared in front of him and he hummed in confusion as he stared at it.
âA hundred million Arcana Coins? Whatâs this?â Thor asked as he looked at Mykel with confusion because Mykel was the one who sent it to him.
âItâs a gift, from me,â Mykel answered. âIf you have any questions related to the system, you should ask Loki, Hel, and Freyja about it. Thereâs something else that I want to do now,â
âYouâre leaving already?â Thor asked as his index finger stopped moving from checking his status screen.
âNo, I want to ask your wife, Sif, about the future that she saw when she looked at me back then. I want to ask her about it and what kind of future was that,â Mykel answered as he looked at Siv who was enjoying her time with her children. âSo, is it okay if I talk to her?â Mykel asked.
âSure, go ahead,â Thor answered as he nodded his head.
They both went back but immediately went their separate ways.
âGoddess Sif,â Mykel said as he respectfully walked up and looked at her.
âYes?â Sif asked with a gentle smile on her face.
âAbout the future that you saw,â Mykel said, but before he could finish his sentence, Sif had already raised her hand.
âThe future is still the same, and if you want to ask me about it, I canât. Itâs something that I donât dare to speak of. Iâm sorry,â Sif said as she looked nervous and looked like she didnât want to talk about it.
âI see, itâs okay,â Mykel replied with a smile on his face.
