Tempted by her Daddies: Chapter 44
Tempted by her Daddies (Harem of Daddies Book 6)
Salem walked up the footpath as the front door opened.
âIâve lost her!â Roman said frantically, pulling at his hair.
Alarm filled Salem.
How could she be lost? She wasnât supposed to leave the house without telling them where she was going.
If she had left she was in big trouble.
âShe left the house? Why would she do that without letting us know? Did something happen?â
âWhat? No. I mean, I donât think she did. I told her that the hide and seek parameters were to stay inside the house.â
âHide and seek?â he asked.
âYeah, hide and seek.â
Relief filled him. âSo sheâs still in the house, sheâs just hiding from you.â
âItâs been thirty minutes and I havenât found her.â
Bloody hell.
That was alarming. He set down his things and started moving through the house. âIâll check downstairs. You check upstairs.â
âI already have. I cannot believe I lost our Little.â
âOur Little?â He turned back to the other man.
âUm, yeah. Our Little. Is that . . . thatâs okay, right?â
Salem could tell that Roman was trying not to sound unsure, but there was definite uncertainty in his face.
âYeah, man. Iâm glad for you.â
It took him another fifteen minutes to find her. He opened the cupboard door beneath the window seat and crouched down to stare at her.
âHello there.â
âDaddy!â she cried. âWhat are you doing?â
âWell, I just got home from work fifteen minutes ago and I spent those fifteen minutes searching for my girl.â
âYou were looking for me, Daddy?â
âI sure was.â
âWhy?â she asked.
âBecause I want a cuddle.â
âOh no, Daddy.â She gave him a sad look.
âWhatâs the matter?â he asked.
âI canât give you a hug. Iâm so sorry.â
âWhy not, Little one?â he asked.
âBecause Iâm playing hide and seek. I canât move. Itâs against the rules.â
âWell, Roman has been pretty concerned about not being able to find you, so I think he would be all right with you breaking the rules.â
âAre you sure?â she asked suspiciously. âThis isnât a trick?â
âHow would this be a trick?â he asked.
âI donât know . . . you tell me itâs okay to get out but then Dada jumps out and says, âYou cheated!â And I lose the game. I donât like to lose, Daddy.â
No, heâd noticed that about her. Losing wasnât really in her vocabulary. And she didnât always react well when she did lose.
Alexei thought it was hilarious the way she pouted when she lost.
âI promise that itâs not a trick. Do you trust me?â
âHmm. Let me think about that.â
âLittle one,â he warned. âYouâre going to get yourself into trouble and Iâm guessing it canât be that comfortable in there.â
âI donât know, itâs actually surprisingly relaxing. But I suppose I do have to pee.â She took hold of his hand and he helped her out.
She stretched with a moan. âOkay, maybe I was getting a bit cramped in there.â
âCome on, letâs go find Roman and let him know youâre safe. And get you to a potty.â
âWhy wouldnât I be safe?â she asked. âI stayed in the house and out of the no-go areas.â
âNo-go areas?â he asked as he led her upstairs where he could hear Roman calling out for her.
âRoman, Iâve got her. Weâre on the stairs, coming up.â
âOh, thank fuck!â Roman said as he appeared in the hallway.
They reached the top of the stairs.
âDada! You said a naughty word.â Tamsyn waggled a finger at Roman. âYouâll have to sit on the naughty step.â
âWe have a naughty step?â Roman asked.
âWe do now and itâs just for you,â she replied.
Roman leaned over with his hands on his thighs. âWell, I wouldnât have used a naughty word if you hadnât scared the bejeezus out of me. I thought I was losing the plot. I couldnât find you anywhere. Iâm going to put a cowbell on you. Or a tracker. Definitely a tracker. Iâm going to research the best trackers and get one put in a necklace or bracelet or something. One that you canât take off. And youâre going to wear it so I know exactly where you are at all times.â
âDada! You canât track me.â
âYes, I can. I am tracking you.â
âWell, it seems I came in at an interesting time.â Alexei joined them in the hallway. âWhy are we talking about tracking Bunny? Do you both now agree with me that itâs the best idea?â He looked from Salem to Roman.
âIt is not the best idea!â Tamsyn said.
âItâs absolutely the best idea,â Roman said. âI couldnât find you for close to an hour. I had no idea where you were. I was freaking out. You need a tracker.â
âBut, Dada, it was hide and seek. The whole point is to hide so you donât find me. If you were tracking me, then you would be able to cheat and find me.â
âIf I was tracking you, then I wouldnât have lost five years off my life and gained ten wrinkles.â
âTen? Thatâs very specific, Dada. Where are these wrinkles?â She walked up to him, peering up at him as he straightened.
âTheyâre there. Look.â He pointed to the corner of his right eye.
âNo, those wrinkles arenât new. They were there before.â
âThey were not!â He pointed a finger at her. âTracker.â
âHow about we all take a day or two to think about this,â Salem said, watching as his girl started dancing around.
That was definitely a âpee dance.â
âYou okay there, Bunny?â Alexei eyed her.
âGotta pee. Gotta pee. Really, really gotta pee!â
Salem scooped her up and ran to the closest bathroom, which was through Alexeiâs room.
âItâs all right! She has training pants on,â Roman called out as he followed them.
âWait, she does? You put them on her, Salem?â Alexei asked as they gathered in the bathroom while Salem set her down on her feet.
He crouched in front of her and pulled off her bloomers, then her training pants.
âSalem didnât put them on her,â Roman said. âI did.â
Salem turned her back and helped her sit on the toilet.
âYou did?â Alexei asked before landing a heavy pat on Romanâs back. âGood for you, man.â
Roman stumbled forward slightly and sent the other man a look. Alexei just grinned.
âTraining pants and bloomers,â Alexei said.
âIs it all right that weâre in here?â Roman asked, looking uncertain.
âYeah, itâs fine. She doesnât care,â Alexei told him.
âI donât care,â she repeated with a smile. âOur first family trip to the bathroom. What shall we do now? Have a bath together? Rob a bank together? Go skinny dipping in the ocean?â
âWhy donât we get you cleaned up and then we can sort out some dinner together,â Salem said.
âHmm. All right. But I have to say, I liked my suggestions better.â
