AUTHOR'S POV

Vidyuth woke up to the soft sound of Meera's gentle breathing. The warmth of her body against his chest made him smile. He couldn't help but admire how peaceful she looked, lying in his arms, as if the world outside didn't exist. Her long hair cascaded over his shoulder, and the shirt she had borrowed from him hung loosely over her, making her look both delicate and irresistible.

"She's finally turning into the same Meera she was. I'd protect her from the world, Meera,"

He whispered to himself. His fingers brushed through her hair gently, feeling a sense of peace he hadn't known in a long time.

Just as he was about to drift off again, Meera's eyes fluttered open. She blinked rapidly, disoriented, before looking at the time on the bedside clock. Her face turned pale as she quickly sat up, pushing herself away from Vidyuth's chest.

"What the fuck! How can I sleep this long? I have a meeting in an hour!"

She exclaimed, her voice panicked.

She quickly swung her legs over the edge of the bed, but as soon as her feet touched the floor, she wobbled and fell back onto the bed, groaning in frustration. The passion-filled night they had spent together had left her weak and sore. She tried to muster the strength to get up again but couldn't.

"I can't believe this. The meeting... how am I supposed to go now?" s

She muttered to herself, feeling a deep worry creeping in.

Vidyuth, still lying on his back, watched her struggle with a small smile. His hand reached for her phone on the bedside table, which had been buzzing nonstop. Obviously she is getting call from Vedansh, Meera hesitated, not wanting to admit she couldn't make the meeting, but her worries were interrupted as Vidyuth took the phone from her hand.

"Let me handle it,"

He said softly. Meera looked at him, her eyes filled with doubt, but she didn't protest. Vidyuth picked up. Vedansh's voice crackled through the speaker.

"Ved, she's not well. She needs rest. Can you reschedule the meeting?"

Vidyuth's tone was firm but not unkind. There was a pause on the other end, and then Vedansh spoke, his voice low and surprised.

"So you're really her husband... You're married?"

Vedansh asked in disbelief.

Vidyuth smirked at the surprise in Vedansh's voice.

"It's 'bhabhi' for you,"

He said, jealousy is on peak. The line went silent again for a moment. Then, Vedansh's voice, more serious this time, came through.

"I'm getting married next month. You'll get the invitation, but I want you to be there,"

He said. Vidyuth's smile faded, his expression turning serious.

"I'll see,"

He replied, but there was no real interest in his voice. Vedansh didn't seem to like the casual response. He was quiet for a second before his voice grew firmer, almost commanding.

"I'm not requesting you. I'm telling you. You are coming,"

Vedansh said, his tone leaving no room for negotiation. Vidyuth chuckled, a hint of amusement in his voice.

"Is that an order?"

He teased. Vedansh's reply came as a hum of agreement.

"I don't even need to send you an invitation. You're still my little brother,"

He said, his tone turning slightly nostalgic. Vidyuth couldn't help but smirk at the familiar words. He had always known Vedansh's pride in their bond, even if things had gotten complicated over the years.

"Well, Ved, you'll see me there... but don't get your hopes up too high,"

Vidyuth replied, his voice still playful, but there was a hint of warmth in the way he spoke to Vedansh.

The conversation ended there, and Vidyuth turned his attention back to Meera, who had been watching him with a mixture of relief and curiosity.

"You're going to attend Vedansh's wedding?"

She asked, her voice soft, almost unsure.

Vidyuth leaned back against the bed, his fingers lightly brushing against Meera's hair.

"Of course I am. He's still my brother,"

He said, a confident smile tugging at his lips. Meera looked at him for a long moment, as if seeing him in a new light. She had always known the bond between Vidyuth and Vedansh, but hearing him say it out loud made it feel real in a way that nothing else could.

Vidyuth pulled her closer, his smile softening.

"Don't worry about the meeting, Meera. Rest. Everything can wait."

Meera, still slightly disoriented, nodded and let herself relax into his embrace. Maybe, just maybe, things were starting to feel right again.

"But still the meeting is Important"

"How about I attend the Meeting on behalf of yours?"

Meera grinned while noding. And as for Vidyuth, he couldn't help but feel a strange sense of hope growing in his chest. Maybe life wasn't as complicated as it seemed. With Meera by his side and Vedansh still in his corner, he felt like he could take on anything that came his way.

Meera glanced up at Vidyuth, her curiosity piqued.

"You guys seem so close,"

She said softly, as if trying to unravel the layers of the relationship between Vidyuth and Vedansh. Vidyuth smiled faintly, his gaze far away for a moment as he thought back to the many years he and Vedansh had spent together, navigating through the twists and turns of their lives.

"I always thought he'd end up with Aroohi,"

He said quietly, almost to himself. There was a mix of nostalgia and acceptance in his tone.

Meera looked at him with a slight frown, unsure of what to say. She had heard about Arohi, of course—she knew of the complicated history between her and Vedansh. It was clear that even now, there was a tension lingering in the air when Aroohi's name was mentioned.

"It's their personal matter,"

Meera replied, her voice careful but understanding. "

We all have our own stories, and sometimes it takes time to figure them out."

Vidyuth nodded, his fingers absently tracing patterns on the blanket. He wasn't going to push the subject further; it was clear that Aroohi's place in Vedansh's life was something unresolved, and he even saw the longing for Vedansh in Aroohi's eyes in Paris.

There was a brief silence before Meera broke it with another thought.

"Also, after two days, there's the exhibition. Will you be there?"

She asked, her eyes flicking to him with a mix of expectation and hope. Vidyuth met her gaze, a reassuring smile crossing his lips.

"I'll obviously be there,"

He replied, his voice full of certainty. Meera couldn't help but smile at his confidence. She knew that Vidyuth didn't make promises lightly, especially when it came to things like this. It wasn't just about the exhibition for him—it was about supporting her, and he always seemed to be there when it mattered most.

"I'll Introduce you to George, It was decided that he will come here on exhibition"

Meera murmured, leaning into him once more, jealousy and Uncertainnity Itching VIdhyuth to think about George.

"I'll be Glad to meet him"

Vidyuth's smile deepened, there were two conclusions he have in his mind, and he gently pulled her closer, his lips brushing against the top of her head.

"Love"

He whispered, and for the first time in a long while, he felt a sense of peace.

With the exhibition just around the corner, everything seemed to be aligning in ways he hadn't expected. The past was never truly gone, but it didn't feel as heavy anymore. Maybe it was time to focus on the present—and the future.

Meera, still curled up in his arms, was still half-asleep, but Vidyuth couldn't wait any longer. He had to ask her.

"Wifie"

He murmured softly, running a hand through her hair,

"how about we go to Jaipur today? The exhibition's coming up, and everyone at home's been missed you so much, you know?"

Meera slowly opened her eyes, her gaze soft, still groggy from the sleep that had just taken over her body. She blinked, processing the words. Jaipur. The thought of it made her heart flutter, but there was a lingering hesitation in her chest. It wasn't just the exhibition that made her nervous—it was the people. The ones who had once been a part of her life, and now felt so distant.

"I don't know, Vidyuth. I... I have to face Anushka than"

Her voice was filled with uncertainty.

Vidyuth's eyes softened as he gently cupped her face in his hands, bringing her attention fully to him.

"You don't need to worry about Anushka right now. Vinny is taking care of her but Let me tell you she misses you a lot"

Meera's breath hitched at his words. She could feel the weight of his sincerity, and it struck her in a way that made her chest tighten. It wasn't just about her, it was about the bonds that had been broken, the friendships that needed mending, and the family that had welcomed her back when she had nowhere to turn.

"You think they really miss me?"

She asked softly, refering his family her voice trembling a little.

Vidyuth's smile was warm and reassuring, the kind of smile that made her feel safe, even in the most vulnerable of moments.

"More than you know. You made a place in their hearts so quickly, Meera. And now, it feels like that's missing. You're a part of our lives, and it's time you come back to it."

Meera's eyes wavered with emotion as she allowed herself to sink into his embrace again. The comfort of his touch felt like the promise of something she hadn't realized she was yearning for. She closed her eyes, imagining what it might be like to walk back into the house, to face the people who had once been her family and friends.

"What about the exhibition?"

Meera murmured, pulling back slightly, her brow furrowing in thought.

"We'll go together,"

Vidyuth replied confidently.

"We can't waste any more time, Meera. You and I... we can go and support what you've built. You've come so far with your designs, and this exhibition—this is your moment."

The thought of it both excited and terrified Meera. She had worked hard for this, but being back in Jaipur with everyone she had left behind made her feel exposed, raw.

"Okay,"

She whispered after a long pause.

"I'll go. I want to see everyone too. It's just... I don't know how to face Anushka yet."

Vidyuth's expression softened with understanding. He knew how complicated things were between Meera and her best friend, but he also understood that facing the past was a necessary step forward.

"Take it one step at a time, Meera. Anushka is ready to make amends, and you should see that for yourself. It's been two years, She is as she was"

Meera gave him a small nod, feeling the weight of the decision settling in her chest. It was time to face the things she had been running from, even if it felt like she wasn't fully prepared for it.

Vidyuth leaned in and kissed her forehead gently.

"I'll be right here with you, always,"

He whispered.

With that, he pulled away and began to gather their things for the trip. Meera watched him, her heart full of conflicting emotions. She hadn't realized how much she had missed this—how much she had missed him.

As Vidyuth packed the bags, his thoughts wandered back to the last conversation he had with his family about Meera. They had all expressed their longing to see her again, especially his mother, who had often mentioned how much she missed her presence at family gatherings.

He turned to Meera one more time before they left.

"Anushka might be waiting for you,"

Her eyes filled with tears, but she blinked them away, feeling a sense of calm that she hadn't known in years. Maybe it wasn't about sorting everything out perfectly—it was about taking the first step, about allowing herself to return and heal.

"Let's go,"

Meera said softly, a smile creeping onto her lips.

Vidyuth smiled back, his hand gently taking hers.

"Together."

As they walked out the door, heading for the journey to Jaipur, the past and future seemed to collide, but Meera knew that with Vidyuth by her side, she wasn't walking into the unknown alone anymore. The exhibition was only the beginning of something bigger—of returning to herself, and to the people who had always been a part of her heart.

And as they drove towards Jaipur, Meera couldn't help but feel a flicker of hope that perhaps, just perhaps, the future would finally be something she could look forward to.
