CHAPTER 51

Forced QUEEN

VIDYUTH"S POV

I leaned back in my opulent leather chair, a rare smile gracing my lips as I looked out of the glass walls of my office. The sun painted the sprawling palace grounds in hues of gold, but none of it compared to the glow I felt inside. Last night replayed in my mind like a cherished melody, every glance, every touch, every whispered word from Meera etched into my soul.

She was my hurricane—chaotic, unpredictable, yet the only force that could dismantle the fortress I had built around my heart. For years, I had let anger and vengeance dictate my every move, but Meera—she had shattered that narrative. Last week, she had been more than my wife, more than a reminder of my past mistakes. She had been my anchor, grounding me in a reality where love was possible, even for a man as broken as me.

My fingers brushed against the rim of the whiskey glass on my desk, though I hadn't taken a sip. The taste of her lips lingered far sweeter than any drink. I couldn't help but smirk, a self-deprecating chuckle escaping me. The King of Rajasthan, once feared for his ruthless demeanor, now reduced to a man unable to focus on anything but the memory of her bare skin against mine.

A sharp knock on the door interrupted my reverie. I straightened, the mask of the stoic king sliding effortlessly back into place.

"Come in,"

I commanded, my deep voice carrying the authority that had become second nature to me. Rohan entered, his usual air of mischief tempered with curiosity. He paused, taking in my uncharacteristically relaxed demeanor.

"You're in an awfully good mood today, What happened? Did Rajasthan suddenly start printing gold coins with your face on them?"

I allowed a rare chuckle to escape.

"Kingdom isn't the only thing thriving these days."

Rohan raised an eyebrow, dropping into the chair opposite me.

"You're being cryptic. Should I be worried?"

I leaned forward, resting my elbows on the desk.

"My wife is back in my life"

Rohan's playful smirk faded, replaced with a look of understanding.

"Meera..."

He said softly.

"Bhabhisa for you"

I nodded.

"She's... here"

I said while tapping my chest with for finger I looked away for a moment, as if searching for the right words.

"my soul is back"

Rohan's eyes widened, his usual teasing replaced by genuine surprise.

"Unexpected. After everything, you two..."

He trailed off, shaking his head as if to clear it.

"So, what now? Do you think she'll stay this time?"

My jaw tightened.

"She will".

'Because I won't let her go. Not again. Meera has always been more than a woman to me, Rohan. She's a mirror to my flaws, a challenge to my control, and the only person who has ever truly seen me for who I am—both the monster and the man.'

Rohan tilted his head, a glint of amusement returning to his eyes.

"And here I thought you'll marry Mannara"

I smirked, my gaze hardening slightly.

"I'd never replace her"

'This isn't about declarations. It's about action. I've spent too long letting my pride and anger dictate my relationship with Meera. She's mine,. And this time, I'll prove it to her every day.'

Rohan leaned back, a slow smile spreading across his face.

"Well, this is a side of you I never thought I'd see. Love-struck and determined. I almost feel bad for Me- bhabhisa. Almost."

My expression softened at the mention of her name.

'She's stronger than you think. And she'll need to be, because the path ahead won't be easy. There are still enemies waiting in the shadows, people who would do anything to keep us apart.'

"Seems like Its time to end someone"

Rohan's humor vanished, his demeanor turning serious.

"Like Rohit Roy."

My eyes darkened at the mention of the man who had caused so much pain to my wife.

'Exactly. Rohit won't stop until he's destroyed everything he is with Graysons there is no doubt, and no matter what this time, he'll find himself face a king'

Rohan studied me for a moment before nodding.

"Then it's settled. Whatever you need, I'm here. But promise me one thing, Vid"

"What?"

I asked.

"Don't let your pride ruin this. Bhabhisa... she's worth fighting for"

My lips curved into a rare, genuine smile, he always understands even if I dont vocalise my thoughts.

"She is mine"

As Rohan left, I turned back to the window, my mind already racing with plans to secure Meera's place in my life—not as a queen consort or a pawn in a game of power, but as the woman I loved. For the first time in years, I felt hope. And I intended to hold onto it with everything I had.

After work, I returned to the suite where Meera and I had been staying. The soft glow of the bedside lamp spilled into the living area as I stepped inside. The faint hum of the air conditioning greeted me, but my eyes were immediately drawn to her.

She sat cross-legged on the couch, papers strewn around her, a laptop balanced precariously on one knee, with small bottle which had liquid. Her hair was tousled, strands falling into her face as she frowned at the screen, biting her lower lip in concentration. There was a smudge of ink on her cheek, and her kurta was slightly wrinkled from what I could only assume had been a long day of relentless work.

And yet, she was breathtaking. Gorgeous in a way that defied logic. It wasn't just her beauty, though that was undeniable—it was the way she carried herself, the way her presence filled the room with an unspoken warmth. Even amidst the chaos of her work, she was the most captivating sight I had ever seen.

I leaned against the doorframe, letting the moment linger. Watching her like this, so unguarded, was a privilege I hadn't allowed myself to hope for. She hadn't noticed me yet, her focus entirely on whatever task had consumed her. But I saw everything—the slight furrow of her brows, the way her fingers tapped impatiently on the keyboard, the way her shoulders sagged just a little from exhaustion.

Finally, I cleared my throat, and her head snapped up. Her eyes widened in surprise before softening as they met mine.

"You're back,"

She said, her voice tinged with fatigue but carrying that unmistakable note of affection. I stepped closer, setting my briefcase down and shrugging off my jacket.

"And you're overworking yourself"

I said, my tone teasing but laced with concern.

"What is it this time?"

"These are the fragrances Aroohi sent me. I have to choose one for the designs in the Laxmi Vilas exhibition."

I crouched down beside her, glancing at the assortment of bottles and test strips.

"So, this is what's been keeping you up Wifie. Let me help."

Her eyebrows arched in surprise.

"Vidhyuth Rathore? will help me pick a fragrance?"

"Why not?"

I said, picking up one of the small bottles and uncapping it. I waved it lightly under my nose, considering its aroma.

"Besides, I have excellent taste. After all, I chose you."

She got shocked,

'He is flirting'

Slaughed softly, shaking her head.

"Alright, Ranasa, Let's see what you've got."

One by one, we tested the fragrances, discussing the notes and how they might complement the designs. Meera's insights were meticulous, her passion shining through with every word. I found myself captivated not just by the scents but by her enthusiasm. The way her eyes lit up when she described the emotions each fragrance evoked was mesmerizing.

Finally, we narrowed it down to two options. She looked at me expectantly.

"So, which one do you think?"

I held both test strips to my nose again, taking my time to savor each scent.

"This one,"

I said, holding up the strip with a soft floral aroma.

"It's subtle but memorable. Just like you."

Her cheeks flushed, and she looked away, pretending to focus on the bottles.

"Your flirting skills are getting improved Short circuit"

"Achaji?"

I replied, my voice low. I reached out, tucking a stray strand of hair behind her ear.

"You know, I met Vedansh in the U.S. years ago."

Meera looked up, curiosity flickering in her tired eyes.

"Vedansh? What was he like back then?"

I chuckled, settling down beside her on the floor.

"Completely different from the man he is today. He was... bubbly, talkative, and to be honest, downright irritating at times. Always full of energy, always speaking his mind. He barely gave anyone a chance to get a word in."

She laughed softly, the sound like music to my ears.

"I can't imagine Vedansh like that. He's so composed and strategic now."

"That's the thing,"

I said, picking up a bottle and sniffing it.

"Time changes people. but he used to talk about Aroohi alot"

Meera got confused and straightened hr back, her fingers brushing against mine as she reached for another bottle.

"Arohi and Vedansh... I never seen them talking besides business"

I nodded, inhaling the scent of another strip.

"I noticed that too"

I paused, glancing at her.

"well ignore them.... why are you so damn gorgeous?"

Her cheeks flushed, and she focused intently on the strips of paper in front of her.

"You're distracting me,"

She mumbled.

"Am I?"

I asked, my voice low as I leaned closer. The tension between us crackled like a live wire.

"Wifie I'm just trying to help."

She rolled her eyes again but handed me a strip.

"Fine. Tell me what you think of this one."

I took it, bringing it close to my nose. The scent was bold, with a mix of sandalwood and jasmine. It was powerful yet elegant—much like her.

"This one,"

I said decisively, handing it back to her.

"It's perfect. Strong, timeless, unforgettable."

She looked at me, her eyes searching mine.

"Are we still talking about the fragrance?"

I smirked, brushing a strand of hair from her face.

"Maybe."

For a moment, the world outside ceased to exist. It was just us, sitting on the floor amidst a sea of fragrances, our hearts beating in sync. And in that moment, I knew—I would choose her, again and again, just as I had chosen that scent. Because just like her, it was everything I didn't know I needed.
