CHAPTER 44
Forced QUEEN
Happy reading.....
AUTHOR'S POV
The past few days had been a whirlwind for Meera. The buzz of her new collection in collaboration with Vedansh Raychand's company kept her occupied. Her designs, inspired by India's rich cultural heritage, were nearing completion, and today marked the final day of the collaboration. The next milestone was an exhibition to showcase the collection to the world.
In a sleek conference hall, sunlight streaming through the tall glass windows, Meera sat at the table with Vedansh, their team surrounding them. Laptops clicked, papers shuffled, and hushed conversations filled the room. They were in the middle of a heated discussion about selecting the perfect venue for the exhibition.
"I think Jaipur would be ideal,"
Vedansh suggested, his voice commanding yet calm.
"The city breathes culture and tradition. Plus, it aligns with the theme of the collection."
Meera nodded thoughtfully, her mind racing through logistics.
"True, but Jaipur is also a tourist hub. We'd need a venue that balances cultural authenticity with exclusivity. Something like the Amer Fort, or Laxmi Vilas palace courtyard, but with better access."
Vedansh leaned back in his chair, studying her.
"Your vision always surprises me, Meera. I'll have my team look into it."
Their professional conversation had an undercurrent of mutual respect, yet there was a subtle tension. Neither mentioned Vidyuth, though Meera's thoughts occasionally drifted to him. Despite their estrangement, she couldn't help but wonder if he'd heard about the collaboration or noticed her absence.
As the meeting progressed, Vedansh's phone buzzed. A text lit up the screen briefly, and Meera caught sight of Ruchi's name. Vedansh quickly silenced it, his face unreadable, but it stirred an odd pang in Meera.
"Alright,"
Vedansh said, snapping her out of her thoughts.
"Finalize the venue by tomorrow, and we'll proceed with the promotions."
Meera nodded, her resolve firm. This collection was her focus now, her way to reclaim her identity and passion, even as the past lingered in the shadows.
After hours of deliberation and a thorough evaluation of potential venues, the team finalized the Laxmi Vilas Palace in Vadodara. Its grandeur, historical significance, and regal aura made it the perfect setting to showcase Meeraâs culturally inspired collection.
As the meeting wound down, most of the team left the room, leaving Meera and Vedansh seated at the table. Meera tapped her pen thoughtfully before looking at Vedansh.
"Vedansh, thereâs one more thing Iâd like to discuss,"
She began, her voice steady but thoughtful.
Vedansh raised an eyebrow, intrigued.
"Go on."
"The collection is deeply rooted in cultural essence, and I want every aspect of the exhibition to reflect that including the ambiance. I was thinking we could introduce a unique fragrance that enhances the vibe of the palace and complements the garments. Something earthy yet sophisticated, like sandalwood, jasmine, or even a touch of oud."
Vedansh leaned forward, his interest piqued.
"A signature fragrance? Thatâs an excellent idea. It will add another sensory layer to the experience and make it unforgettable."
Meera nodded, encouraged by his response.
"Exactly. Arohi Shashtri, the CEO of Arfume. Sheâs a master at creating bespoke fragrances, and I believe sheâd understand the vision weâre aiming for."
Vedansh smirked slightly, Knowing His bestfriend is best in the field,
"Youâve thought this through. Letâs bring her on board. Coordinate with her, and make sure it aligns perfectly with the theme."
Meera smiled, feeling a surge of determination.
"Iâll handle it. This collection needs to be flawless, Vedansh. Itâs not just about the designs itâs about the experience weâre creating."
Vedansh observed her for a moment, a hint of admiration in his gaze.
"With you at the helm, I donât doubt that it will be."
As they wrapped up their discussion, Meera felt a renewed sense of purpose. The Laxmi Vilas Palace would soon come alive with the spirit of her designs, and the fragrance she envisioned would add the perfect finishing touch.
The following day, Vedansh fixed an appointment with Arohi Shashtri, the CEO of Arfume, to discuss the bespoke fragrance for Meeraâs collection. The meeting was scheduled at a private lounge in one of Mumbaiâs most luxurious hotels. Meera and Vedansh arrived a few minutes early, ensuring everything was prepared to make a strong impression.
Arohi entered, her confidence radiating as she greeted both of them. Her crisp white blazer and soft floral perfume hinted at her expertise in the world of fragrances.
"Ved, Mis Mahi Roman"
Arohi said warmly, shaking their hands.
"Itâs a pleasure to meet you. Iâve heard a lot about this collaboration."
"The pleasure is ours, Roohi,"
Vedansh replied smoothly, gesturing for her to take a seat.
"We believe your expertise is exactly what we need to elevate this exhibition."
Meera leaned forward, her passion evident.
"The collection is inspired by Indiaâs cultural heritage, Arohi. Weâve finalized Laxmi Vilas Palace as the venue, and I want the fragrance to reflect the grandeur and warmth of our traditions. It should evoke a sense of nostalgia while feeling fresh and inviting."
Arohi nodded thoughtfully.
"Interesting. Iâm thinking something that blends traditional elements like sandalwood and vetiver with lighter, more contemporary notes like jasmine, saffron, or even bergamot. It would create a balance between classic and modern much like your collection, I assume?"
"Exactly!"
Meeraâs eyes lit up.
"The designs are intricate, with a mix of handloom fabrics and modern silhouettes. The fragrance needs to mirror that duality."
Vedansh interjected, his tone businesslike yet supportive.
"How soon can you develop samples? The exhibition is less than three weeks away, and weâll need to integrate the fragrance into the event setup."
Arohi smiled, her confidence unwavering.
"Give me ten days. Iâll create three variations for you to test, and we can finalize the one that fits best. Once approved, Iâll ensure itâs diffused throughout the venue seamlessly."
"That sounds perfect,"
Vedansh said.
"What about packaging? Iâm thinking of offering miniatures of the fragrance as part of the experience."
Arohiâs eyes gleamed with interest.
"Great idea. We can design custom packaging that complements the collectionâs theme perhaps miniature brass or marble containers inspired by Indian craftsmanship?"
Meera nodded eagerly.
"That would be incredible. Thank you, Arohi. Iâm already excited to see what you come up with."
As the meeting concluded, Arohi rose, her professionalism tempered by a genuine enthusiasm for the project.
"Itâs an honor to be part of this vision. Iâll have the initial samples ready for you soon."
After Arohi left, Vedansh turned to Meera with a rare smile.
"Youâve got a knack for tying everything together. This collaboration will set a benchmark."
Meera smiled back, her determination shining through.
"Itâs not just a collection, Vedansh itâs a story. And every detail matters."
