Out
Three. The Perfect Number
MADISON
As Ethan drove, Madison shifted nervously in her seat, playing with the inside of her lips and savoring the mixed tastes of the twins. Dating two men would take some getting used toâ¦but it certainly had its perks.
His husky voice brought her back to reality. âWell, now that itâs just us, âFlake, can I tell you how beautiful you look?â
âYes,â Levi added. âAnd donât think we havenât noticed the back of your dress.â He met her eyes in the rearview mirror for a brief second.
She blushed. âThanks. You donât look so bad yourselves.â
Ethan rested his hand on her thigh, and she straightened in her seat, feeling a familiar frisson in her stomach.
He glanced at her before looking back at the road. âSince when are you shy around us?â
âI donât know. I guess I just need to get used to you two beingâ¦two.â
âWhat do you mean, Mads?â Levi asked, softly tracing her neckline with his fingers. âWeâve always been two.â
She shivered under his touch while she thought about how to explain.
âYeah, it would be quite difficult to forget that after the childhood I had. It wasnât enough having two brothers, I had the âgood fortuneâ of having you two making my life even messier.â
âWhat can we say?â Ethan shot back. âYouâve always been so cute when frustrated.â
âOh, well, ~thanks~.â She rolled her eyes playfully.
Levi chuckled, showing off his cute dimple. âLike the time you had your first date! You were what, fourteen?â
âWe made him run for miles,â Ethan added.
âYeahâ¦â Madison laughed. âAnd the chance of having my first kiss flew out the window thanks to you!â
âOh, come on. We saved you from never wanting to kiss again. That guy was a weird one.â
âJoshua wasnât weird! He was justâ¦different.â Her date had been a skinny, artsy kidâ¦smart and cute. And sheâd really liked him.
âRightâ¦~different~,â Levi mocked.
âAnyway, thanks to you two, I was the only one who didnât have her first kiss until she was seventeen!â
Both of them laughed while Ethan pulled into a parking spot.
He switched off the engine as she looked at the view outside her window. The place theyâd brought her to was on a small beach, isolated except for one restaurant. One sheâd always wanted to go to.
âYou like it?â Ethan said.
âYes!â she said, turning to grin at both of them. âIâve always wanted to come here.â
âWe remember. Shall we?â
The restaurant was built on an old pier, and to get to it they had to walk over a small bridge. Ethan rested his hand on her lower back, guiding her, while Leviâs fingers wrapped gently around hers.
To her surprise, the table they were shown to was on the outside deck, away from the rest of the tables and surrounded by white curtains to give them privacy.
âWow. This is beautiful!â she said as she slid into the booth between the twins.
Ethan smiled down at her. âWeâre happy you like it.â
âWe thought youâd feel more comfortable with some privacy,â Levi added.
Suppressing a grin, she sank her teeth into her lower lip.
Ethan ran his thumb over the corner of her mouth. âI like it when you do that,â he murmured, his husky voice sounding like music to her ear. âCan I kiss you?â
For a second she forgot to breathe, but when she finally nodded, Ethan leaned forward. She did the same, meeting him halfway so their lips could touch.
After kissing her for a few seconds, he bit softly on her bottom lip, making her moan in surprise, then sucked on it.
He pulled away as the waiter approached, but Levi put his hand on her thigh, just barely under her dress, drawing small circles on her bare skin.
He didnât miss a beat as he ordered a round of drinks and appetizers for the table.
âSo, how was your day, âFlake?â Levi asked when the waiter had left again.
âGood. I saw Sam in the afternoon. But mainly I just waited for tonight to happen.â
âYeah? Were you as impatient as us?â
âProbably more, since you ~disappointed~ me this morning.â
âOh, little âFlakeâ¦â he said, shaking his head. âHow so?â He moved his hand a little higher.
She flushed. âYou know how! You teased me and then left me!â
âTeased you, huh?â He looked at Ethan. âWas that what we were doing? I had no idea.â
The waiter arrived with the drinks: a margarita for her and an old-fashioned for each of the twins.
Levi smirked as he raised his glass. âWell, cheers to us and the teasing.â
They clinked their glasses, and Madison licked a bit of salt from the rim of her glass before drinking.
âHow was ~your~ day? Any progress with the new gym?â she asked.
âItâs getting there,â Levi replied. âBut I had this image in my head all day of a certain someone in just a bra and panties, so I couldnât really focus.â
âSame here,â Ethan said. âTurns out, itâs a very bad idea to visit you in your bedroom before needing to concentrate. Weâve been checking the time since we left your room.â
Madison arched her brow. âIs that so?â
âYes. Soâ¦how do you feel about things so far?â he asked.
âMe? Good, I guess.â
âGood,â Levi said. âWe want to go at your pace, so we need you to tell us whatâs going on in your head. We know we can be a lot, and we donât ever want you to feel ganged up on. You call the shots.â
âOkayâ¦,â she said shyly. âBut Iâll need you guys to show me how to do this.â
âBeing together, you mean?â
âYes.â
âWe can do that. But since weâve never been in a real relationship before, youâll probably need to show us some things too. My guess is itâs going to take some effort, and weâll all need to learn things about each other to make it work.â
The stare that Levi gave her made her shift in her seat and look down, but Ethan pulled her chin up with his finger.
âWhatâs wrong, âFlake?â he asked.
His green eyes were so intense and his smile so damn sexy that she still couldnât believe this was real.
She took another sip of her drink, and so did the twins, giving her a few seconds to answer.
Sheâd never felt embarrassed when talking with them before, but she supposed there was a first time for everything.
And speaking of firstsâ¦
âNothingâs wrong,â she finally answered. âItâs just, maybe you have to show me more than just how to beâ¦~together~.â
Leviâs fingers were still drawing lazy circles on her skin.
âYeah. I guess being intimate with two men is going to be something new, but weâll take it slow. We promise.â
Feeling her cheeks light on fire, she sighed and tapped her fingertips on the table.
âWhatâs making you so uncomfortable, Madison?â Levi pressed, his amber eyes melting into hers, and in a swift move, he closed the gap between them to kiss the corner of her mouth.
âYou know you can talk to us, right, little âFlake?â he murmured against her skin.
She closed her eyes, inhaling his comforting scent, a mix of earth and sea.
âIâm still a virgin.â
