Chapter 15

Fourteen

Halley's Comet

September 17

somewhere unknown

—

"I hate airports" Billie groans just as take off starts. I tear my eyes away from the plane's window and look at her next to me before sending her a soft smile.

"They aren't that bad." She just looks at me crazy.

Rolling her eyes, she puts her airpods on and shakes her head no. Today we are flying to somewhere I forgot. Iris always likes to make fun of how I always forget the "important" things.

Me personally, I don't really care to remember.

I sigh softly and close my eyes, deciding to just sleep during the flight. It's close to ten now and Maggie had us up pretty early due to wanting to beat any crazed fans or paparazzi, which didn't work.

Billie ended up getting chased down by a group of girls. I was in the bathroom when it initially started but I heard a bunch of screaming and quickly hurriedly did my business and washed my hands before leaving. I found Billie running past me with the girls calling for her as they ran after her.

Now I never seen Billie run but I got to admit it was the funniest yet adorable little run ever.

I ended up managing to hide Billie while her security handled the girls. One of the girls started crying because all she wanted to do was meet Billie. I had to explain to her that she can't forget that Billie is a person and deserves just as much respect as she does. She ended up apologizing to Billie from a distance while the other girls just whined and argued with security.

Billie being the loving person she is, she gave the girl a hug and took a picture with her. The other girls were forced to just watch behind security while the girl got to meet their idol.

That whole situation reminded me how rude people can be to their idols and just celebrities in general. Billie obviously was freaked out by the situation and ranted to her mom about it on the way to our gate.

Apparently we were originally suppose to drive to our plane, which quite frankly I didn't even know was possible, but plans changed last minute. Billie ended up yelling at everyone about that and used what happened as an example to why we should drive next time. She has had an attitude ever since.

I do understand her frustration because I wouldn't want to be chased in a airport with people not even helping and just watching it happen. No one helped Billie until I managed to hide her.

People are just rude.

—

I walk into our hotel with Billie on my back as she laughs and talks to her brother who walks alongside me. I don't know why Billie prefers my back over simply walking but I'm happy to be of assistance.

That was sarcasm.

"Alright ladies there are your key cards" Maggie says after handing Finneas his. Billie was originally suppose to room with her brother and I was suppose to get my own room but Billie ended up begging her mom to room with me.

Not that I mind.

"Okay Billie off so I can get our bags" I pat her thighs and she jumps off before hurrying to quickly jump on her brother's back who huffs and glares at me making me put my hands up in surrender.

"To be fair I never told her to do that" I tell him.

"Billie get off" He grumbles to his sister who chooses to ignore her brother. He groans and grabs his two suitcases before walking over to the elevator with her still on his back.

I lean down to grab my bags as well as Billie's when Maggie stops me. "Don't worry about that dear. The hotel will have someone take our bags."

"But Finneas just took his up to his room"

Maggie takes my arm and leads me to the elevator. "Finneas gets paranoid about people touching his things" She tells me making me laugh.

Understandable

We reach the seventh floor where mine and Finneas's rooms are located while Maggie and Patrick on the floor above us. I wave bye to Maggie and walk to Billie and I's room only to find Billie sitting in front of the room with a pout.

"What's wrong?"

"Finneas threw me off his back and told me to stay like I'm a fucking dog then went to his room, locking the door." She grumbles as she stares across the hall at Finneas' room with a glare.

I shuffle my laugh and quickly unlock our door, allowing Billie to walk in first. We were greeted with a single queen size bed making me pause and look down at the keycard to make sure we are in the right room.

"You got to be kidding me" I mutter under my breath and pull my phone out to call Maggie.

"Hello?"

"Hey Maggie it's Halley. Uh" I pause and look at Billie walks to the bed and simply jumps on it like a starfish. She seems to not have a care in the world. "I think there must be a mistake. Billie and I got a single bed room"

She curses under her breath before replying. "Let me call the front desk and get that sorted out"

I thank her before saying bye and hanging up. I turn to Billie who remains in the same position with her eyes now closed. "Too scared to share a bed with me Hals?" I chuckle and wave her off before walking into the bathroom.

I'm exhausted and feel dirty from that long ass plane ride.

"Hey Hals! You want some food? My treat!" Billie calls through the door.

"Of course! Burritos?" I hear an excited yes! making me chuckle and step into the running shower. Running my hand through my hair, I step under the water and sigh softly.

—

I lay beside Billie and smile as she rants about her performing tomorrow night and how excited she is about it. I've noticed how her nose scrunches up every time she gets excited about something.

"Ugh I wish I can just give them all one big hug and never let go" Billie smiles and looks over at me with that special sparkle in her eyes.

"Is that why you always do an air hug at the end of every show?"

She nods and grabs my hand, playing with my fingers. "Air hugs are the second best thing in my opinion besides meet and greets"

"I thought you hate meet greets" I say making her let out a small laugh and shake her head no.

"I don't like when my babies are forced to a time limit when meeting me but I'm still happy that J get to at least see them"

"You're very passionate about them, about your music."

She looks back into my eyes and smiles. "And what are you passionate about Hals?"

I pause as I look at her.

"Cooking"

She pauses and raises an eyebrow. "Really?"

I nod. "I have been in the kitchen since I learned to walk" I reply and smile as I look up at the ceiling. "My grandma always made sure I knew how to feed myself before anything else."

"She use to tell me how important it is to be independent with myself rather than be dependent on a man." I pause and laugh. "Although she didn't realize I didn't give two fucks about men"

"You're gay?" Billie asks almost in surprise. I nod my head. "Always have been."
